Chapter Eighty-four
Alec couldn't stop Lukas, not like he had a chance of doing that in the first place but he hoped that he could make the Alpha King see reason. He wanted to propose a plan for them to take a lot of firepower and just overwhelm the opposing side but then he took a gander at the document that had been faxed to them.
A vein ticked on Alec's jaw as he read through, not only did they include the location where they supposedly held the Luna Queen captive, they also had conditions.
And that was if they learned that Lukas had indeed come with anyone else, they would shoot the Luna Queen. It was a simple but very effective threat because Lukas would never do anything to put his mate in mortal danger.
Those absolute fucking bastards. He should have just got ahead and gotten rid of them without waiting for Lukas' approval and this would never have happened.
Rosie gingerly got to her feet and hurried over, she was barefoot, her shoes discarded a long time ago. "Alec?" She called in a soft voice. "Will Luna Claire be alright?"
Alec rubbed a hand over his face in frustration, he didn't want to lie to Rosie. "I'm not sure." He was being truthful because there was no guarantee that the Rogues would keep to their word and leave Luna Claire unharmed even after Lukas showed up all by himself. It was a lose-lose situation for them.
Killian still remained quiet all these while, although he was well aware that Lukas and Alec seemed to have some sort of relationship with the assailants behind Claire’s kidnapping.
"I presume we will use the time to prepare?" He finally spoke up, cocking a brow. He seemed to have finally come to terms with the fact that he was on someone else's turf.
Alec could actually tolerate the human if he kept a zipper on his mouth and offered to held them. Fuck knew they needed all the help they could get.
Because from the way Luna Claire’s bodyguards had been taken out, the Rogues had some heavy duty artillery on them. It was nothing like what they were known to use, it meant that they had gotten a really good supplier who seemed to be on the generous side. Because there was no way that a bunch of working class weres turned renegades could afford that kind of weaponry.
"Yeah." He said shortly, brushing Rosie’s red hair out of her face. He had felt the sudden urge to touch her and he just went along with it. "You'll have to stay behind, I promise that we'll bring Luna Claire back safely."
Rosie’s hazel eyes held heavy emotion as she blinked up at Alec, "Come back safely too." She found herself saying before she could stop herself, coloring up a bright red after the words escaped her lips.
Alec didn't seemed to mind this, tucking her mesmerising red hair behind her ear. "I will." He said gently and then turned to Killian with hardened eyes. "Come on, get off your ass, we've got work to do!"

Outside, Lukas had already stocked up on the weapons he would need, taking the time to wear a bulletproof vest as well.
He was well aware that the Rogues didn’t have to keep to their words. If they already kidnapped his mate to force his hand, there was no tell what extents they were willing to go.
So he had no intention of giving them the time to make any more moves, it was dangerous but he intended to show up at the rendezvous point with his guns blazing. He intended to go to war.
This stopped being a matter of a revolution when they involved his mate, Lukas was going to end this here and now.
The bodyguards reluctantly opened the gates to let him out like they weren't sure they should. The Alpha King had ordered them however and they couldn't disobey his orders so the gates were opened and without waiting for Alec to show up, Lukas swerved out.
It was a bit of a surprise that Logan hadn't seen the Rogues, the rendezvous point was literally at the city's outskirts. He had some questions for the private security agent when this was all done.
If he stepped on the gas, he could make it there in about twenty minutes. It helped that it was quite late, almost 3 am so the roads were deserted.
Lukas did just that, swerving to take turns so that he could cover more ground in less time. The thick bulletproof vest he wore weighed down on him, Claire had been with the Rogues for over six hours, he was nearing his limit.
The worst part of waiting was when he had to sit still behind his desk for hours waiting impatiently for the fax to come in. It felt like he was falling apart from within. It was much easier to tolerate the burning under his skin when he was running through the woods but when be was forced to sit still, it truly felt like he was in hell.
When Lukas got to the outskirts, he stepped on the gas, speeding up even further. He had memorised the location so making his way there was the easy part.
When he finally got on the road that led to his destination, he straightened up in his seat and cautiously slowed down a bit, not wanting to drive past the shed that he was told he would see.
Lukas also slowed down to give himself a chance to map out a mental plan of how he was going to stage his attack. When he finally drove up to the clearing where the shed was located, he did a quick sweep with his sharp eyesight.
Although the area looked empty and devoid of people, Lukas could tell that he was surrounded. He remained in his car after pulling up into the empty clearing in front of the shed.
He was well aware that Claire had to be held captive in the shed but he also knew that he wouldn't be allowed to even get close to it before he would be ambushed. It meant that there was only one solution.
He would have to crash his car right through the shed.
Good thing it was made of wood, it would make the crash easy and more effective.
