I won't reject you

I knew that the stairs were all the way at the end of the hallway and that downstairs, beside the kitchen was the pack house's backdoor. So I took the route that I remembered in my head. I used to escape with Aurora. At first, I was only fast-walking, but then I started running.

I unlocked the backdoor and the moment I stepped outside, I immediately felt better. The feel of the ground under my feet was a feeling I definitely missed. I felt like I could breathe better and the pain seemed to stop for a bit.

And then I started running towards the forest that was not too far from our house. I didn't shift although I wanted to but my wolf was not responding to me and I didn't want to shift without her permission. But I felt her putting down the barriers that she set up. She was probably happy that I was able to get out too.
She ignored me when her mate rejected us.

Still in my human form, I started to run deeper into the forest. I felt rejuvenated. I could feel after those weeks of being locked up inside.

The fresh scent of the air, the twigs snapping under each step I took, the feel of the leaves against my skin as I passed by them. I missed it all.

'Is it okay if I shift?' I asked my wolf in a soft voice.
"Of course!' she said happily. However, as I was going to start shifting the scent out of the blue hit me.

I stopped on my tracks and waited, making sure that what I was feeling was real, that what I was smelling was real.
"He's here." I told my wolf and she agreed.

My heart started beating so fast, mostly the mate bond because I knew that beneath it all, I was scared of him.
I didn’t want him to see me. Not now.

I started running away, but that wasn't such a good idea because I could feel him coming closer so quickly. I ran faster, but the speed of an Alpha compared to a speed of a wolf like me. I mean, it's not even a match.

The only way to put distance between us was if I shifted and I was about to do so when I felt a hand grabbing my arm harshly. I gasped at the strong sparks that his touch caused and immediately flinched at the pain of his grab. He must've noticed because he let go immediately, causing me to fall on my butt to the floor.

Ouch, can't he a bit nicer?!
But he will never be nice to me.

I snapped my eyes accusingly towards him and all that courage washed away when I saw his golden eyes looking so angry as he looked down on me.
I was screwed up..
He was angry, that was obvious. His golden eyes looked like a flame blazing afire, his raven hair was messed up and his fists clenched and unclenched. At first, I felt scared because who wouldn't be if they saw an angry tall muscly man in front of them. But then I realized.

Why should he be mad? I'm the one who's supposed to be angry at him, he should be begging for my forgiveness right now.
I'm his mate. The moon goddess binded us together.

After collecting myself together, I stood up and looked him in the eyes and he seemed to hate that because he made a disgusted look in his face. I would lie if I said that it didn't hurt, because it did.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked so harshly, but with a tone of mockery.

"I don't know. Anywhere but here." I answered with the same tone. Where I got the courage to do so, I also don't know.

His eyes darkened, he passed a hand through his dark hair, a dangerous smirk playing in his lips. And man, that looked super sexy, but that was just the mate bond making me think that.

"It seems you don't know your place, do you." he started in which I quickly cut him off before he said anything else.

"My place?" I scoffed bitterly, trying not to cry again when I remembered what he literally just did. "I'm your mate, for goodness' sake. My place is beside-" you. I never got to finish my sentence because before I even could do so, my breath escaped me.

My eyes widen with shock as I realized what had just happened. I was against a tree and probably half a meter off the ground. A tight grip around my neck made it hard for me to breathe and I realized that the strangling hand belonged to my mate.

"I won't accept you as my mate, and I will never like you",
His eyes shew how furious he was as he watched me nonchalantly despite the fact that I was struggling for air. I had enough strength left to try and get his hand off my neck, but he only tightened his grip and his words hurt me.

"Then reject me",
In a moment of panic, my wolf took control. The next thing I knew, my nails got longer, digging into his hand and fighting for him to let me go. I glared at him and shew my canines at him. He must've been surprised because he finally let me go, letting me fall to the ground again.

For a moment, I gasped and coughed for air and relief washed over me when I could breathe again. I took a few seconds to think about all the things that happened just now.

Really?

My wolf was angry and so was I.

And I couldn't stop what happened next.

"You'll pay for that, you bastard." I whispered, but my wolf's growl mixed in. I continued to glare at him and he continued to watch me with a puzzled expression on his face, but not before he could smirk.

"I won't reject you..." I heard him say then he walked away.
