His apology
BANE'S POV
"Get the fuck off-" I cocked my hand back to slap the devil out of him. Before I could land my blow, I was pulled back.
"Heeeeeey." Kellan demeanor quickly changed as he extended his hand to greet Bane.
"Now tell me, why did I know your slimy ass would cause some trouble tonight?"
"Trouble?" He laughed. "No no trouble. Just a little fun."
"Take your dumb ass fun somewhere else."
"Oh come on." He toyed. "Are you really going to defend the weak body?"
"Weak body?!" I snapped from behind Bane. I may be a woman, but I can do some serious damage.
A few guys appeared and stood faithfully behind Kellan, I guess defending him and his obnoxious behavior.
"Listen to me." Bane's voice grew darker and angrier by the second. "If I have too, I will happily dislocate your arms and legs from your body.." He spoke sternly, fearless despite him being out numbered. "And shoved them into your friend's mouths."
"Okay, okay." Ty smiled as he held his hands up in surrender. "No need to come to violence this evening right?"
"If its called for then yeah."
"You are right. I will keep my peace and I apologize to you." He smirked. He glanced pass Brent and made eye contact with me. "Im sorry I couldnt make you one of my pup carriers."
What?! Bane stepped forward, his arm cocked back to land a vicious blow to Renees's pretty little face.
"Hey, hey." Aaron and Zeiden grabbed Bane before a bloody scene could occur. "What seems to be the problem?" Aaron asked.
"Beta." Bane nodded. "Just a slight disagreement."
Beta? Okay, when did he get a nickname. Bane pushed away from Renee and Aaron and stormed out of the ballroom. "Whats going on?" I turned and noticed Renee standing by my side with Bane closely behind her.
"I-I dont know." I admitted.
"Kellan." Bane frowned at him. An awkward silence and stare down between them left me bewildered for a few moments.
"Im sorry." For the first time, Kellan's apology seemed genuine but I was not here to accept it. He said his apology to Bane and Aaron before he turned and walked away.
"What happened?" I questioned. "Are you okay?" Aniyah asked concerned.
"Yeah I guess." I was feeling a little overwhelmed then concerned for Brent, who seemed to have stormed off in anger." Is he okay?"
"He should be fine Renee." Bane tried to settle me down.
Why did I still feel bad that I was the reason that forced Bane to get into an altercation then storm away in a rage? I wanted to thank him and also apologize for him being put into the situation but of course, he never returned to the ballroom.
"You okay?" Renee asked.
"Im fine." I took another sip of the spiked up punch. I really didn't want to go into full detail of how I felt because she may think Im crazy. Besides, she seemed a little unfocused herself so I didn't want her to add another concern to her plate. "How are you?"
"Just...trying to get through the night." She smirked.
"Me and you both." We laughed.
"Renee?" A girl's squeal caught our attention. She walked up to Renee and wrapped her arms around her.
A friend?
By Renees's wry smile, I didn't think so. As much as I wanted to stick around and pry in on this mysterious greeting, the little girl's room was calling name.
"I'm going to step away for a moment." Renee frowned at me for dismissing myself but I reassured her I would be back soon.
I left from the ballroom and up the stairs, dragging my hand across the wooden banister. I walked down the hall and made my way to one of the hallway bathrooms. I tossed my clutch onto the bathroom sink and ran the water over my hands and ran my hands across sweaty neck.
I chanted a few reassuring words before I picked up my things and walked out.
"Life is a bitch. So go out there and kick ass." I remember how my mother would tell me that when I was feeling overwhelmed or distraught. I could remember how serious her face would be when she said it. Even though I knew she was serious when she said it, it still was pretty hilarious.
Dead silence and peacefulness of the lifeless halls were interrupted by some shuffling and scrambling. As strange as it may seem, the sound drew me in like a moss to a trap.
Loud banging and thumping was coming from a room at the end of the hallway. Could someone be hurt? In trouble?
Grrr why must I be miss superhero tonight?
I knocked on the door but there was no reply. Strangely, the commotion seemed to had gotten louder and louder, which seemed to heighten my concern even more. I knocked on the door again, and again, there was no answer.
Suddenly, the sound of glass came crashing down from the other side of the door. I grabbed the door knob and twisted it. To my surprise, the door opened up.
If you're going to commit a murder, lock the door! I'm the one to talk. Im probably walking in on the murder.
I stood there, gawking at the completely trashed room.
Furniture was tossed around and broken up all over the floor. Glass from the vases and picture frames were shattered all across hardware flooring. The only light was a dim flicker of light from a lamp that was resting in the corner of the room.
I stepped deeper into the room and over to the bed post. Strange! Confused, I ran my fingers across the weird gashes that dug into the large thick wood. I have never seen anything like this. Almost as if a wild animal had done this.
I looked away, coming to realize the same markings were seen in various destroyed things. The broken vanity, the back of a broken up chair, even the wall. They were deep, almost impossible for man to make without some sort of tool.
"What do you want?" I jumped back. His voice was deep, almost sharp and dangerous to the ear.
"Um I heard some commotion and-"
"Im fine." He quickly shut me up.
Fine? Fine? He was standing by the window, overlooking the dark land inside of a completely destroyed room. Anger problems? Do all cute guys come with serious issues?
"Your room-"
"Someone will clean it." He was responding so quickly to my comments that it was irritating me.
