Refused to reject him
RENEE'S POV
The woman looked at me again, this time for longer. I broke the eye-contact and lowered my gaze while her eyes continued to sear through me. She walked closer till we were inches apart. I chewed the inside of my cheeks, wondering who she was and what was happening. My thoughts were running here and there.
Was I meant to be still killed? My death was pending, but when?
"She's not from here. Why should I keep her?" She questioned.
"Because I'm telling you do so. I suppose she escaped from one of the neighbouring packs. Although, I'm not sure of her intentions yet so be careful and make sure she doesn't run away." The Alpha continued, talking of me as if I was a threat
"It's a big risk. The other girls won't like it." The woman spoke while circling around me.
"I don't care. Take her off my shoulders. I need my rest after all the bloodshed and my men haven't learned how to restrain themselves when a female is prisoned here-"
"I'll leave!" I suggested. I didn't mean no harm, it was a mere mistake coming here, nothing more. I would've left already by now if he hadn't found me and captured me.
The Alpha approached me, his jaw clenched, "Don't ever interrupt me ever again," He said, his tone stern before his head turned to the woman behind. "Take her away and I'll reward you."
The woman placed her hand over my back, gently. "Come." She whispered to me.
My breaths came out slow. Where was I being taken to?
"Make certain she isn't touched."
"Yes, Alpha." She responded to him before taking me out of the house from the same way I had been dragged inside.
Once in the clear, I was finally able to breathe. My heart stopped racing momentarily as we approached a small car parked near the other cars. The morning, bright sun shone among the several heavy clouds. I pursued my lips together and followed the woman into the car without knowing where I was heading off too.
Wherever it was, it was better than being here.
My body was trembling with cold as I pushed my hands between my legs to keep them warm during the car ride. The woman was seated beside me, in the back while another man drove us. Glancing outside the window, I watched several buildings and houses past by. It reminded me of my pack, where I fled from.
All most the building in my pack were filled with Aurora's photos for remembrance.
I was totally a fool to think that Bane would ever love me. Everything was evident that he literally hated me.
My stomach dropped when I thought about the way I accepted him to make love to me yet I was seeing it from the start that something was wrong with him.
At some point, I blamed the mate bond. I couldn't do anything to reject him. And I didn’t utter the words of rejected when he did it. I decided to run away and here I was suffering.
My life was now in danger.
The car finally came to a halt in front of an old, three-story house. The woman stepped out and motioned me to do the same. I was a bit hesitant when reaching for the door's handle. I could start running, but it wasn't going to take me far as I could be trailed by the Alpha, again and I doubt he'd let me live the next time.
But how could he trail me?
"Don't try to make any surprising moves," The woman warned while grabbing my wrist and taking me into the house. "You'll spend the day here, at my home."
We further walked inside and I caught a glimpse of the house. The chill from my fingers faded. It was warm inside. The furnishing was red brown and everything was open. There were two girls seated on the sofa's, a drink in their hands while a robe was around their bodies. Upon hearing us, they turned and instantly peered at me.
"Who's she?" One of them asked.
The elder woman dropped my wrist and stomped closer to the girls before taking away their drinks. "She's a guest and she'll be staying over here for the morning," She said, placing the glasses on the counter. Just behind the counter there were several shelves of alcohol and other drinks. "And how many times I've warned you. There's no drinking at this time of the day."
"Sorry, Madam."
Madam?
I blinked slowly as my body tensed. I snapped my mouth close before it could even open. I didn't want to go there. But the rumors. They were true. Female wolves belonging to the Silvertails were either dead or whores.
"It's fine," The woman shook her head and pressed her fingers between her eyes while the other two girls stood up. "Go prepare a bed for this girl and find some clothes for her as well. I don't need this rotting smell inside my house."
"Yes, Madam." Both of them said in a union before scrambling away from the room and disappearing.
I remained standing, away from the woman as she removed her coat and hung it. My eyes gazed around finding an escape from here. There were several doors to the right, all of them closed. There was a wooden staircase just opposite of the fireplace which led upstairs, into the second storey of the house where I assumed the rooms were.
Severals clothes and glasses were over the sofa's and the table. There was a heavy floral scent lingering in the air, reeling my senses.
"It shouldn't be long before the Alpha will come for you," The woman turned to me and said, "Just a few long hours. Take some rest, shower and change your clothes. If you require food, you can ask any of the girls. Though, I'd suggest to stay in your room as soon as the sun falls. There'll be crowd here and it's not something you want to attend to."
She sat down on one of the sofa's, leaning her back against the cushion before opening her hair.
"What if I want to leave?" I asked her.
