Feels good
RENEE'S POV
"Parfait." Ty looked at me like I was a finishing result of a project. "A work of art." I felt different, out of the ordinary I thought. I looked at June and Ty. They looked as amazed as they stared at me in awe and satisfaction.
"Come, come. Look at yourself." She helped me out of my chair, since this dress was impossible to move about in, and guided me over to the floor length mirror.
I made eye contact with the person in the mirror. I had to admit, she was beautiful. I was almost skeptical about believing that this woman who was staring in to my eyes was me.
"Like turning an angel into a god." Ty whispered to me.
Perfect ruby red lips, and flawless looking skin. I touched my hair, admiring the perfect low side bun that June created.
"Oh no darling, dont touch." Adele pushed my hand away. "Now all you need is confidence to go with that beauty."
I looked at her reflection through the mirror as I absorbed her words of truth. She was right. Show them my worth. Show them confidence. I stood tall, well taller since I was standing in five inch heels, and admired my myself as I should.
"Ty-"
"No, no, thank me later darling." She looked at her watch. "We have to get you downstairs before the Alpha and his mother have my head."
She sprayed a little perfume on to me as I coughed and fanned the heavy scent away. She gripped my wrist and guided me out into the halls with Ty and June on our heels.
"Okay darling, you look beautiful so don't worry." She seemed more confident then I did.
"Thank you."
"They will announce your grand entrance-"
"Grand entrance?" I repeated.
"Yes. They open the door, they announce the Luna, you, then BAM, you're in." "Oh." So much for just walking in and trying to blend in with the crowd. I kissed that fantasy goodbye.
We walked down the spiral case that was now covered in a red carpet. The air around me began thin, making it almost impossible for me to breath it in. She guided me to two large wooden double doors that were closed and stood me in front of it.
"Shake it off girl damn." I repeated to myself numerous times.
Ty stepped away and so did Layla and June, leaving me alone to face it all. Okay, okay, Im ready....I think.
Oh god. Panic attack.
"Love?" A hand touched my lower back. The burning heat from his touch left me speechless but also relieved to see him.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. Its like he could sense my fear, my need to hide away in nervousness. He lowered himself down to me and kissed my lips so deep and passionately, causing Ty and her assistants to clear their throat to break us apart.
A low growl rumbled from him, irritated with them and their interruption but he never looked away from me.
"You ready love?"
"Yes." Just looking at him calmed my racing heart, cooled my hot flesh, and cleared my mind of doubts. I was almost oblivious to the large wooden doors slowly opening and greeting us inside with open arms...
Eyes. Eyes. So many eyes.
The immense thunderous ballroom was filled with unknowing faces, all suddenly looking toward me. All came to a halt and silence cascaded across the room.
Bane gently pulled me into him in hopes to comfort my nagging mind. Heart racing situation I was put in at this very moment was nerve wrecking.
I struggled to breath in some air which seemed to be removed from the entire room. Why cant I hear? The only thing I could hear was the sound of the beating base of a drum. Oh thats my heart banging against my chest.
Emotionless faces watched me, examining me, almost intimidating me. I wanted to curl up into a ball and allow Bane to carry me up to his room.
Bane's hands began to move across my exposed back. His fingers drew circles, his way of attempting to calm me. It helped.. A little.
He lowered himself down until his lips were hovering over my ear. "No reason to be scared. I'am here."
I looked to him. Green eyes watched over me with so much passion, intensity and protectiveness.
"Shall we?" He motioned for us to walk deeper into the ballroom. Hesitantly, I nodded my head, agreeing to his suggestion.
He took the first step and I followed with so much caution. I watched the eyes follow me, watching every little move I made. We came to a crowd of wolves, our path suddenly restricted by them.
"Love?" He whispered into my ear again. "Dont be scared."
I took a deep struggling breath and nodded in understand. I never really saw myself as a person who held much power and authority in my voice but I knew what he wanted. He wanted me to demonstrate my status as Luna, revealing my power to show authority. Was that me? What hell do I say? Move? Scram? Watch it? Get out that way?
"Excuse me?" As much as I wanted to add the power and strength into my voice, it still managed to come out low and unnerved.
Oh fucking great! Why the hell did I have to sound like a damn mouse? They're probably looking at me like a damn joke. Damn you Jason and your request for me to take 'charge'. I wanted to turn away but something else happened after.
To my astonishment, the crowd began to separate, vastly parting like the red sea for us. Their eyes still watching me as they stepped to the side for Bane and I.
Can I admit that it felt good? Not the need for power, but the given respect I had received.
We walked side by side through the crowd. So many faces. So many wolves. I noticed the two people standing at the end of the parted crowd. Is this? Are they? I looked to Bane who seemed nonchalant about their presence. Of course he would, he has known them his entire life.
