Need to be with him
RENEE'S POV
I was fidgeting with my nails. The cheap yellow nail polish was beginning to fade away from existence.
I was nervous. Fuck that. I was beyond nervous, I was scared.
Bane, Renee, Jess and I were sitting in Bane's truck, listening to the radio as we drove down the highway toward his parents home.
Bane locked his fingers with mine, hoping to put my fear to rest. I clung to his hand like glue, however my mind was still somewhere else.
"No need to worry." He tried to reassure me for the tenth time today.
How could I not worry? Everyone was expecting to meet me. The little human girl who took the title as Luna.
Would they see me as worthy?
"They will love you almost as much as I do." He smiled.
Lets hope. We pulled onto a little dirt road enclosed by trees. At this moment I knew I was only seconds away from meeting his family. After a few miles on the dirt pathway, a large home appeared.
It was beautiful.
Its tall structure was surrounded by the tallest of trees. Its antic bricks and statues were unique. I could tell it was a vintage home, nothing like our pack home.
"My mother was never into the more modern technology." He noticed my interest in the home. "She still has a rotary dial phone."
I laughed a little, becoming a little more nervous to meet his mother now. Was she old fashion? Did she believe sex before marriage would send you into a world of damnation?
Ohhhhh man I hope not.
The truck came to halt in front of the home and he shut the vehicle completely off. As much as I wanted to stay tucked and hidden away in the car, I knew I had to man up and get out.
I opened the door. I stepped on the dirt and closed the door behind me.
I looked at the home that stood before me. Beauty was evident. Towering over me was the mansion that belonged to the previous Luna and Alpha. The stone staircase led up to the over large double wooden doors.
The home was age-old I can see but it still had its life to go another few years.
The door opened up and I stepped back, still nervous. A older woman stepped out. She had to be in a late fifties.
"Alpha Bane, Renee."
"Renee." They smiled.
She walked down the steps and pulled Bane into a welcoming hug. Willingly, he embraced it. After what felt like forever, she pulled away and smiled before wrapping her little arms around Renee. Finally she turned to face me. A smile still on her face, exposing the little wrinkles that appeared on her.
"You must be Luna Renee?" Before I could answer her, she already had me gripped and wrapped in her arms for a hug.
"Yes."
"So lovely to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." I was looking for the right way to respond to her. Who was she? Was this his mother?
"This is Elizabeth." Bane inserted. "She practically raised us."
"Oh."
"Yes." She followed. "He was a problem child too. I can tell you everything you need to know about him."
Bane snarled at Renee, not too happy with her giving me his old stories. Oh how I would love to hear them now.
A few guys emerged from the house and walked over to the vehicle, bowing their heads in respect.
"They're going to take your bags up to your rooms ladies." Renee turned to face us.
The men removed our bags from the car and retreated back into the house as quickly as they came.
"Come, come." Renee nudged us toward the home.
Entering the house was overwhelming for me. Beauty left me speechless. I never noticed how something so vintage could be so beautiful. Elegant decor, neutral colors and an all white tale flooring.
"Renee, your lovely friend's room is stationed next to yours." Elizabeth was referring to Jess. "Bane, you and your beautiful Aniyah room is the second master bed."
"Thank you Renee." Bane nodded.
"Come on, I'll show you." Keira nudged Jess and she followed.
"Is there anything else you need?" She asked.
"Is my mother and father present?" Bane questioned. I felt the palms of my hands get sweaty again. My nervous demeanor was probably noticeable.
"Sorry, no they are not." She answered, forcing a sigh of relief from me. "They will be returning tomorrow for the ceremony."
"Okay, thank you."
She bowed her head once more before she disappeared into a pair of swinging double doors.
"Love?" his hands rested on my lower back.
"Yes?"
"Lets get cleaned up."
Water ran down my flesh, relaxing me from the miserable ride here. Two and half hours of my life was spent sitting in a truck, listening to anything that came on the radio.
I couldn't stop thinking.
I wanted to relax myself, relieve my own stress, however I couldn't. The celebration that was being held tomorrow in my honor was all I could think about. I would be surrounded by hundreds of wolves. Their expectations of me probably high. How could I reach those levels?
But oh, thats not the worst of it.
It nearly slipped my mind of the house full of werewolves and the other human who, may I remind myself, does not know of this large secret. How can I bring to her acknowledgment of the secrets she has no idea of? The half human, half werewolves? That she, in fact, is involved in this world more then she could ever imagine. That she is destined to be with a werewolf, unknowing that her little crush she has on Bane, goes a lot deeper then what she thinks.
It will be okay right?
Who am I kidding? Was I 'okay' when I found out their secret? Was I all understanding about it? I nearly went crazy thinking about him and missing him but also sort of afraid of him.
It was like a want to stay away from him, but a need to be with him.
But what can I do?
