Final escape

RENEE'S POV
"Fuck," The beta groaned while holding onto his erectness. I took my chance and quickly ran away from the bed.

I stopped on my steps when I reached for the door handle. I wasn't going to leave this perverted man like this regardless of his position.

"Come back, bitch, I'm not done with you." I heard him scream.

My hands dug in the wooden drawers on the opposite side of the bed, a metal piece scraped through my flesh and I picked it up. I headed back towards the Alpha who was standing up straight with anger and pain in his eyes. I had already weakened him enough.

The knife slashed through the air and landed on his chest before he could reach for it. It happened so quickly that I didn't even have a chance to think. The old beta struggled with me when he fell on the ground just beside the bed. I leaned down on him and brought the sharp edge of the knife to his chest.

"That's for trying to touch me," I thrust the knife into his chest and his warm blood splattered before oozing out. I forced myself to concentrate as I stabbed him again.

It went on for hours, the beta was long dead but the anger inside me was stretching with every second passing by. My body was covered in his blood by the time I was done with killing him. My eyes poured water like long streams of a waterfall. A dark, sickening regret filled my heart and I finally backed away from the deceased body. My heart swelled in my chest as I gathered myself.

I couldn't believe it. I killed a person..
But I had to do it. This was my only chance.
One I'm not going to get ever again. I don't want to be trapped here for eternity, not like this.
I've to take the chance.

The room felt smaller as I stood up on my feet. My heart hammered in my chest as I reached for the doorknob. Turning it, I stepped into the hallway without looking back. I could. I hated what I've done, but it had to be done. He wasn't going to let me leave while he was alive.
The house was as still as a tomb. There were no guards luckily. He probably bribed them. There was an eerie calmness, quietness that told me that I've got little time before the storm awakens. I have to escape, now.

Swiftly, I rushed down the hallway, my bare feet making no sound on the cold, wooden flooring. My heart pumped furiously in my chest as I moved. My head clouded with different thoughts and questions and it took me out of focus.
Focus, Renee. focus.

I told myself while reaching the foyer. The guards are away. The Beta's gone and there's no one else here to stop me from leaving. No one.
My fingers trembled as I reached for one of the large drawers in the foyer. Inside, I looked for anything that could help me out of here. When I didnt find anything, I looked at the top of the drawers and found a basket of keys. I grabbed one of them and tried it on the main door.
It formed a click sound as it unlocked.

A sigh of relief left my lips as I opened the large door. It was heavy and reached high up to the ceiling of the ground floor. I left the door open before rushing back to where the drawers are. Tipping on my toes, I looked into the bundle of keys and grabbed a car key that's resting between the others.

The Alpha did have a car and I didn't know it last time I tried escaping.
This was only the beginning of his torment.
He won't find me now.

I reached back into the drawers and found a bundle of cash just sitting there. Grabbing some of it, I quickly rushed out before wasting any more time.
Just as I was out of the house, cold air hit me and I frose. It's too cold. And most of my body is bare. I'm only wearing a T-shirt that barely covers anything.

Shit.
I ran back into the house with my heart thudding in my throat. My eyes scanned the dimly lit foyer and I found the coat hanger positioned behind the grand staircase. I darted towards it, snatching up the first one I reach. It's a heavy leather coat, the material worn and soft to the touch.
And it smelled like it was a lady's coat.

The scent washed over me and I took a deep breath. No return. I tell myself as the coat swallows me up, falling past my knees and the sleeves cover my hands. I ignore the ache in my heart and head back towards the door while holding the cash and key in my hand.
Before I leave, I glance over my shoulder one last time.

The hideous dark mansion stands silent under the moonlight with no one inside but the monster who lives in it. I wrap the coat tighter around myself and turn away.
I look for the car around the area and find it parked a short distance away, with several others. Beeping on the button on the key, I step closer to the one which responds to the signal.

It's a sleek, mahogany-colored car. I tug on the handle, holding my breath. It swings open, silent, and smooth until I start the engine.
I flinch at the sound of the engine roaring in the middle of the night. It surely is loud enough to wake up anyone in the distance. Anyone.
Before anyone catches me, I press down on the accelerator, and the car thrusts forward but doesn't move. I put it on reverse and it quickly lurches back before slamming into a small tree.

"Shit," I curse before shifting the gears again and driving forward. "Get a grip." I tell myself while moving down the dirt road that leads straight out.
