The betrayal
RENEE'S POV
The party had started and it's been a good 30minutes since it has. Music was booming loudly through the pack and most of the pack members were excited, I could hear their loud voices. As usual. As a cursed and hated wolf, I was seated in my room alone. Ever since that night , Bane told me that he won't reject me, I didn’t bother escaping out of my room.
He wanted to watch me suffer.
Everyone in the pack wanted me to suffer and I had no other thing to do.
Lonely I laid my head praying for sleep to take me but after a good couple of minutes I failed. The music was so loud. Whatever the pack was celebrating was important. I didn't know what they were celebrating. No one told me and I didn't bother asking my favorite maid Jsssica.
Of course my father refused me to attend it. He didn't want me to embarrass him again.
While in my bed, i really tried and tried to sleep but at the end, I sighed and sat up.
"Let's go", Shannon spoke.
"Let's go and see what's taking place", She added.
"What if my father sees me?", I asked her. I knew my bad luck everytime.
"Everything is gonna be fine. Don't worry", She reassured me. I didn’t hesitate standing up. I got my black hoodie, put it on then I tiptoed my way downstairs then ran quickly out of the house.
By the time, the place where music was soundig from, there were so many pack members and other members from nearby packs. I pulled my hoodie over my head and leaned against the wall. I didn't want any of the pack members to notice me.
A joyous atmosphere was present in the air and everyone was talking amongst each other. I kept looking around searching for that one bastard but I stopped when I heard an announcement.
"The Alpha is done with greeting the elders, the Gamma and the luna's parents, everyone go in the ballroom."Somebody announced.
I froze i'mmediately against the wall.
"Luna's parents?",
Did I hear that right?
My heart started pounding hard against my chest. My mate .
He betrayed me. He was ready to marry that strawberry haired bitch.
Everything made sense now.
I now knew why he said that he won't reject me. He meant his words when he told me that he will make me suffer.
He replaced me willingly and it meant he will continously have sex with her while I hurt in my bed.
Why was even trying.
No one will ever want me.
Everyone is now on the new luna's side
They have to keep their pack strong, having no Luna will weaken them considerably.
I stood there puzzled, lost in my thoughts.
I wanted to turn away and go back to my room. Maybe I really should've just stayed in my room, I wouldn't have heard that announcement. I was going to go back but out of the blue my wolf took control, then it felt like my feet had minds of their own. They followed the crowd and I hoped with all of my heart that Bane wouldn't sense me.
I tried to conceal my aura with all that I could, the only trick I learned from Jessica while I was held captive in my room.
"Tonight, Your new Alpha is going to introduce to you your new luna." lt was my father who spoke and the crowd cheered madly, happy to see their new luna.
I didn't do anything. I was just hurt and betrayed. That was my father who lost his daughter and now he was happy.
"As you all know, an alpha can't rule a pack without a luna, so all of you be ready to see her. I hope you that you all welcome her with your warmest hospitality. Tonight, we celebrate." He raised a glass in the air and everyone raised theirs also while cheering.
"Without further ado, let's call our elders and the luna's parents!" lan announced and the crowd divided. Since I was standing by the entrance, I had to move away too. Soon, three elderly men and two elderly women wearing black cloaks started walking in. They passed by me and I immediately felt the aura that shrouded them. They were strong and the strawberry haired bitch had that strength in her.
The crowd was cheering once again and when the elders arrived in front of Alpha Bane together with his father, they all bowed. Bane merely nodded towards them and they stood up, going to his left and stood there.
"I want to introduce the new beta Albert Cook."Alpha Bane said and smiled, genuinely happy. He was happy. Never in my life have I ever seen him smile at him. A tall man started striding down the hall. He was as tall, dirty blonde hair and power oozing out of him. I wasn't able to catch anything else but he did seem intimidating.
Again, the crowd went wild upon seeing their new beta enter. Like the elders did, he bowed in reverence and after went to stand by the elders.
I hoped there would be no one after the beta. I hoped that the announcements were done. However, looking at Bane, I knew that it must've been true. He glanced uncomfortably over to Albert who was standing beside him before he started to talk again.
"Lastly, let's welcome Carlo Stones, your new luna",
And there it was.
All the hurt I felt earlier when I realized that I was fully betrayed came back. Everything.... the hate.
Maybe the moon goddess mated me to a wrong person.
She accidentally did it.
Soon Carlo started walking, passing me by and at the small glimpse that I caught from her, I instantly felt so small, so...insufficient.
She was different to night. I didn't like her but tonight she was so beautiful, there was no denying that. Her strawberry hair was hot this time.
As she walked down the hall, all eyes were on her as they cheered. She was smiling as she bowed down and when Bane nodded, his smile dropped.
The hurt inside me was getting intense. My heart was hurting, I could literally feel the hurt. The betrayal.
