New Reality
**Sarah**
When I managed to step away from the group of executives, I headed towards where Hillary and Rachel were, eager to share the news with my sister. Her reaction was a mixture of shock and surprise. Rachel arched an eyebrow, her expression one of disbelief.
"You did what?" she asked, almost dropping her wine glass in the process.
I nodded with a nervous smile.
"I accepted the job Enrico offered me. I know it's unexpected, but I feel like it's a chance I can't let slip away."
Rachel sighed, looking at me with concern.
"Do you realize what you're getting into? This means more time with him, and Lorenzo might not be happy about it."
I nodded, aware of the challenges that lay ahead.
"I know, Rachel, but it's also an incredible opportunity for me."
"I'm sorry, Rachel, but I have to disagree with you," Hillary chimed in. "The issues between Lorenzo and Bianchi have nothing to do with Sarah. When an opportunity like this came into my life, I didn't hesitate, and I don't think you should hesitate either, Sarah."
Hillary was right. The future now seemed like an exciting racetrack, full of unpredictable twists, challenging straights, and above all, the promise of growth and self-discovery.
"How are you going to handle the move to London? You know how complicated it can be to find a suitable place and deal with all the logistics of an international move," Rachel raised a valid point.
But again, Hillary intervened, offering for me to stay at her apartment while I adjusted to the new situation. I was genuinely touched by her kindness; she turned out to be an amazing person.
Hillary was genuinely excited about the job offer I had received and ready to support me in every aspect. Given that she works in the field and already lives in London, this turned out to be an incredible and remarkably convenient solution for me.

My life took a complete turn after that event when I accompanied Rachel, something so surprising that I still feel incredulous about it. During that week in Montreal and the preparation for the race that would take place on the weekend, I had the opportunity to gradually adapt to the rest of the Nessyscar team and learn more about the world of motorsports. Of course, I also sought additional information about the sport from reliable sources on the internet.
It was an intense and exciting experience to dive into the universe of the Nessyscar racing team. Getting to know Enrico Bianchi was a natural progression. In him, I could see not only the passion he had for motorsports but also his deep technical and strategic knowledge behind the races. Slowly, I began to understand the complexity of this sport that had previously seemed like nothing more than fast cars going around a track.
While Rachel was always by Lorenzo's side, I sought to become more and more involved in the activities of the team I was going to be a part of. Gradually, my conversations with Hillary turned into mentorship sessions, and I tried to absorb as much knowledge as I could from her expertise.
The race in Montreal finally arrived, and I was more than prepared to put everything I had learned into action. The frenzy of the backstage, the excitement of the crowd, and the adrenaline that filled the air created a unique and electrifying atmosphere. As the cars roared down the track, I felt my heart beat in rhythm with the competition.
I also felt torn because on one side was Lorenzo, my sister's boyfriend and someone I instantly liked. On the other side was Enrico, arrogant and cynical, but who had shown a surprisingly kind side. Now I found myself indebted to Enrico Bianchi, and his personality didn't seem as dark anymore.
The rivalry between them was intense, and I felt obligated to root for Enrico. After all, Nessyscar is the team I work for, and I owe them loyalty. But Lorenzo clinched the victory that afternoon, and Enrico came in second place by a tiny margin. This means Lorenzo is ahead in points, and Enrico has the obligation to turn the tables in the upcoming races.
Despite my sister's disapproval, I left Montreal behind and moved to London, where the team's office was located and began working as an account manager's secretary with remote assistance from Hillary.
Rachel received an invitation from Lorenzo to accompany him to his house in Genoa, where he wanted to introduce her to his family. Rachel promptly accepted the invitation and followed Lorenzo to Italy. After all the tension of the days when we shared the same hotel room and Rachel tried in every way to convince me to decline the job at Nessyscar, I felt relieved with our temporary distance.
I was experiencing a happiness that I hadn't felt in a long time; everything seemed to be falling into place wonderfully. Even in the face of the challenges of a completely new and different world from what I was used to, my education in good schools and my dedication to studying and reading were proving to be valuable.
The time came to resume activities and start preparations for the next stage of the Formula One World Championship, which would be held in Silverstone, England, just a few dozen kilometers away.
I also felt anxious about Rachel and Lorenzo's return. They were so different from each other that it seemed unlikely to imagine them as a couple. But I would never tell anyone what I thought about my sister's relationship with the racer.
"Is Rachel going to stay with Lorenzo at his apartment, or do you plan to rent an apartment for yourselves?" Hillary asked.
We were having breakfast, and then each of us would head to our respective jobs. Hillary's apartment was very well located, which made it quite easy to access all areas of London, and I really enjoyed sharing the place with her.
But perhaps she wasn't feeling comfortable sharing her space with another person, and I tried to find a way to ask that without seeming ungrateful.
"She plans to stay with Lorenzo," I told her. "I'll look for a place to stay as well because I don't want to take advantage of your kindness, Hillary."
I looked at her seriously and made sure to hold her hand, trying to convey all the sincerity of my words.
"You've been wonderful, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to get to know you better."
She reciprocated my gesture, holding my hand with affection and a smile that radiated warmth.
"I love having your company, Sarah. Before you came here, I had been feeling quite lonely, and having you around is something I'm really enjoying."
"I like being here too, but I don't want you to feel obligated to accommodate me."
"I don't feel that way!" She protested before I could even finish what I intended to say. "And I know you could be anywhere else, yet you chose to be my guest, and that made me really happy."
Her words left me puzzled, and a doubt started to creep into my mind. Did Hillary imagine that Rachel and I were still two rich and carefree heiresses? I decided not to address that issue at the moment, and after talking a bit more, each of us went our separate ways to work.
Upon arriving at the office, I came across Enrico, who had also just arrived. Despite the smile upon seeing me, he didn't seem interested in me romantically or sexually, which always left me curious. If he wasn't interested in me, why had he gone to the trouble of getting me that job? Everyone had made it clear that my position in the team was due to his influence with the higher-ups.
"Hello, Sarah," he greeted me with his usual cynical smile. "Hope you missed me."
"We saw each other yesterday, Enrico," I responded with a spontaneous laugh. "There wasn't much time to miss your absence."
We entered the office together, but he was soon called into a meeting with the technical team, and I began my workday.
