Chapter 13

Third person's POV

Aria awoke in the morning and remembered texting Lucas to come over to her house; she had no idea she had fallen asleep. She looked inside her room, and nothing had changed; she was relieved because she thought Lucas had returned home, but the truth was that Lucas was still sleeping in his car outside. His sports car is a little far away from Aria's house.

Aria got ready and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and remove her pajamas clothes before opening the shower and starting to wash. She then picked up the towel that was hanging beside the shower curtain. She exited the bathroom and approached the cabinet to get her uniform. She began to dress, after which she fixed her hair with a blow dryer and brushed it.

"Good morning, Aria. We apologize for arriving late last night. But, how did you sleep? I assumed you were afraid of being alone?" Aria's mother said as she went down to the living room, and Aria smiled.

"It's all right. I'm not sure. Maybe I fall asleep while playing phone games." Aria lied to her parents and sat on the chair to eat her breakfast.

"Is someone bullying you at school again? Or do you have a strong bond with a friend named Irish?" Aria's mother inquired, and Aria nodded while eating her breakfast.

"Me and Irish have a good friendship; she is always with me, and she even told me that she will protect me if someone bullies me again," Aria said as she finished her breakfast.

"I'm done eating, mom. Thank you for the food; I'm going now." Aria said as she kissed her mother on the cheek and hugged his father.

"Take care and keep your eyes open on the road," Aria's father said as she exited the house, and she nodded.

Aria's expression changes because her parents never fetch her to school; in her entire life since kindergarten, she has been the kid who doesn't have a parent to bring her home; she has always gone home alone.

Aria smiled as she passed Lucas's sports car on the way, and she peeked to see Lucas was still sleeping with his coat as a blanket. Aria knocked on the car door, jolting Lucas awake, and he looked out the window to see Aria.

Aria waved her hand as Lucas quickly opened the door.

"Hello and good morning! I thought you had gone home? What keeps you here?" Aria inquired, and Lucas fixed his hair.

"I can't leave you even though your parents are already home because I'm afraid you'll wake up if you have nightmares," Lucas explained as Aria entered his sports car.

"Since you're here, fetch me to my school," Aria commanded Lucas, looking at his wristwatch.

"All right, I still have time to get you to your school and go home to change my clothes," Lucas said as he buckled his seat belt, and Aria did the same.

He started his car's engine and began driving; while driving, Lucas couldn't believe Aria saw his sports car. Aria took out her phone and began scrolling through it.

"Did you get enough sleep last night?" Lucas inquired of Aria while she was scrolling through her phone.

"I sleep well, but how about you? Do you sleep well in your car?" Aria inquired, and Lucas laughed.

"I don't know, but I don't have a dream. It's strange," Lucas said as he turned right, and they arrived at Aria's school a few minutes later.

"Here we are, master. See you tomorrow. Call me if you need anything." Aria unbuckled her seat belt as Lucas said.

"Thank you for inviting me here; I'll see you tomorrow! I'll text you again if I have trouble sleeping. You also haven't added me to the group yet," Aria stated.

"Okay, I'll add you right now. I apologize for forgetting yesterday; I have a lot of important things to do," Lucas said, and Aria nodded before closing the door to Lucas' sports car.

When Lucas noticed the students whispering because of the sports car's appearance, he resumed driving home. When Lucas arrived at the mansion, he parked his car in the garage and used his remote to close all of the car doors.

He entered the mansion and noticed the other protectors already eating breakfast.

"Welcome back! Did you fetch Aria?" Lucas removed his coat after Logan inquired.

"I guarded her all night and slept in my car. Yes, she saw that I was still there. Her parents went home last night, but it's late, so I sneak out, so her parents won't know I'm there," Lucas explained, making Jaxon laugh because Lucas is good at sneaking.

"You are really good at sneaking; I just think you are sneaking into Nivia's room and stalking her." Jaxon joked, and Lucas used his dark power and was ready to struggle with Jaxon with his power.

"I'm not serious! You're aware that using Auxier's power on other protectors is against the rules." Lucas took a deep breath as Jaxon spoke.

"She's the one who told me to sneak into her house. Later, I discovered that Aria is afraid of being alone. That is her new personality, so I've waited for her to fall asleep," Lucas explained to the other protectors.

"Damn! She will be terrified if we leave her behind." Logan spoke up, and Lucas gave him a look.

"It's not going to happen. Please don't think about it; if we hurt our master, we will be punished by the Auxier Stone; if we leave, we should notify her; I know she will understand, but the enemy is still outside in this world, right now. We will not abandon Aria even if our lives are at stake." The other protectors nodded as Lucas spoke.

"You are correct, but why are you leaving her when the enemy has already been defeated?" Jaxon inquired.

"I'm not sure," Lucas said as Irish stood up from her seat, finishing her meal.

"If you're leaving for good, I'm sure Aria would agree if we needed freedom," Irish said.

"But if we want to be released and have freedom as the protector, we will forget about everything that happened while we have Auxier power and its half stone. If we choose to have our freedom, that is the consequence," Aiden said, and Lucas simply nodded.

"You are correct; if you all leave permanently, I will stay with Aria until the end and be her protector until I die," Lucas said, shocking the other protectors.

Aria is at school, and as she walks into her room, all of her classmates are staring at her. She didn't mind and went straight to her seat, where she saw what was written on her desk.

"What's up with your hairstyle? Do you like someone else right now, so you have your hair styled like that?" One of her classmates inquired, and she touched Aria's hair, prompting Aria to slap her classmate's hand.

"Don't touch my hair," Aria said, making her classmate laugh. She looked down at her desk, picked up her handkerchief, and began to clean what was written on it.

"Are you sure you want to fight us?" Aria's classmate pulled her hair, and she was hurt. The Auxier Stone glowed inside her chest, and a strong wind came through the window; her classmate was shocked and pulled them away because of the strong wind.

"What occurred? What was it? Did you actually do that? You're a witch?!" Aria's classmate inquired, and their teacher entered the classroom.

"What is going on here? What exactly did you do to Aria?" The teacher asked in surprise, and Aria remained silent because she did not want to get involved with anyone else.

"Aria, you're a witch!" Aria's classmates all laughed, and the teacher simply put her bag on the desk and began writing on the board while teaching.

"All right, class! Enough it's just the wind. We will have an activity today, and that will be your attendance." Aria took up her notebook and began to take notes on what was written on the board, as instructed by the teacher.

Aria, according to Ezekiel, was harmed by a classmate.

"Something happened to our master," Ezekiel murmured, startling Irish.

"What?! Did you feel it? Is she currently in danger?" Irish asked right away, and she stopped putting the flower in the pot.

"I felt Aria's classmate pull her hair, but the Auxier Stone reacted to what she did to our master," Ezekiel explained, and Irish became concerned.

"You worried me because I thought she was in severe danger and that we needed to help her. Thank goodness the Auxier Stone is with her to see what is going on and how it is assisting her and us while we wait for her awakening." Irish began to place the flower pot outside the flower shop.

"I regret everything that has happened in the past, and I will make sure to do good things in this present day and correct the mistakes that we have made in the past," Ezekiel said, as Irish tapped Ezekiel on the shoulder.

"You certainly will! I am confident that we will overcome the challenges that await us. I am optimistic that Aria will do the same; remember, even though you left us while planning a battle, she gave you half of Auxier Stone." Irish spoke up, and Ezekiel nodded.

"I was shocked to see the half of Auxier Stone come to me. I felt that something had happened to our master, so I immediately returned to the Auxier Kingdom. When I realized she was gone, I blamed myself and wanted to kill myself." Ezekiel finished arranging a bouquet of flowers.

"But you must be prepared when Aria remembers everything; she will forgive you but punish you with the Auxier Stone," Irish said, and Ezekiel nodded.

"I am prepared for the punishment she will administer to correct my previous error," Ezekiel replied.
