Chapter 17

Third person's POV

Kai Yarrow is still alive and suffering from the curse he has; he is now working at his company, but last night he felt the Auxier Stone for no apparent reason. He believes it was because the curse that Auxier gave him is still connected to him for the time being.

Kai recognized the visitor to his office as his sister, Erza Yarrow. She sat on the office sofa, crossed her legs, and looked inside Kai's office.

"I understand why you called me here; did you feel that the new master of Auxier was chosen once more?" Erza inquired, and Kai smirked.

"Last night, I felt the Auxier Stone, and it has a new master, as you might have guessed," Kai told Erza as he rose from his seat.

"What should we do now? Do you want me to send Ryder to find Auxier's new master?" Erza queried Kai.

"Of course, but first, we must observe because the battle is about to resume. I'm not giving up on obtaining the Auxier Stone." Kai said as he approached his office's large window.

"How do you feel today? Did the curse cause you any further harm?" Erza inquired, and Kai touched his chest.

"The Auxier cursed me, and as a result, I can sense where the Auxier Stone is; it's as if we're linked by the pain of the bearable for the time being." Smirking, Kai said.

"Now that it's modern, I believe the new master has no idea how to fight with a sword, martial arts, magic, or weapon." Erza laughed as Kai's secretary entered the office.

"I apologize for interrupting your conversation, sir, but today's meeting is about to begin. We need you there, sir." Kai's secretary stated, and it was a lady.

"Thank you; I'll be there," Kai replied, looking at his sister.

"Take care of the enemy, for the time being, observe them, and report back to me; when they start planning to battle us again, I will command you two," Kai said. Erza nodded as they both exited the office.

Aria was getting ready to leave for Caster University, where she would first take her entrance exam. After getting ready, she picked up her bag, exited her room, and went downstairs.

"Good day, dear! First, eat your breakfast! Good luck with your entrance exam today! And this is crucial!" Aria nodded as her mother spoke.

"Mom, I know! I'm going to eat right now! I hope to pass that exam in one sitting, "Aria stated.

After finishing her breakfast, Aria stood up from her seat and immediately hugged her father and kissed her mother on the cheek. Aria's mother smiled, and Aria went outside to prepare for her entrance exam.

"Take care and best wishes!" Aria's father waved his hand goodbye as she walked away from her house while Aria waved hers.

"She hasn't changed even though she is an adult," Aria's mother said as Aria's father sipped his coffee.

Aria's father stated, "She will never change because she is always a good person."

Aria went to the bus stop, picked up her phone, and saw the message in the group chat with the nine protectors.

Aria: Good day, everyone! Wish me luck as I attend Caster University! Today I'll be taking my entrance exam.

Lucas: Be cautious on your way, and if you're already there, please chat here. Best wishes for your entrance exam.

Aria: I understand! What happened to everyone who didn't see my message?

Lucas: They will see your message later because they are currently preparing for work.

Aria: I'm sorry, I forgot you all had jobs.

Aria went inside after texting that the bus had arrived and looked for a vacant seat; after looking, she found one and sat down, paying for the conductor. She takes out her phone and earphones, plugs them into her phone, and then plays music.

The bus begins to move, and she checks her phone for the time, relieved that she is not late. After a few minutes, the bus arrived at Caster University.

When she got off the bus, she looked at the school where she would take the entrance exam; it was a large campus. When she entered the school, she saw the other students who would also take the exam.

"Hi! Are you going to take the entrance exam here as well?" Aria was taken aback because someone had asked her, and it was a man.

"Yes, I'm going to take the entrance exam as well, are you?" Aria inquired, and the man with whom she was now conversing nodded.

"My name is Christopher Cleave, but you can just call me Chris!" Christopher was waiting for Aria to shake his hand when he introduced himself.

"Hello, my name is Aria Ximena, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" Aria introduced herself, and Christopher smiled as the professor at Caster University assisted the students in taking the exam.

"Please put your cellphone here. We have strictly prohibited gadgets. Take the test paper and go inside," the professor said, and Aria and Christopher both placed their phones on the box that the professor was holding.

"I'm nervous, and this is my second choice of taking the exam," Christopher admitted. Aria found a vacant seat. Christopher found his seat next to Aria.

"This is my first choice, and I hope I pass the entrance exam," Aria said as she reached into her bag for her pencil.

"Good luck to the two of us," Christopher said as the professor went inside.

"We will now begin the entrance exam. Good luck to the students who will take the exam. You may all begin," the professor said. She was a woman dressed casually in light pink.

Aria concentrated on the test she was taking while reading the question and getting her ballpen case with a pencil and liquid eraser when she heard Christopher's voice reading the test paper. She looked at him, puzzled by Christopher's face, which she had seen somewhere but didn't realize was the reincarnation of Nicholas Genesis and his brother in the past.

The exam was finished after an hour, and Aria looked at Christopher. They passed their papers in front and got their phone in the box.

"Thank you to the students who took the entrance exam. The results will be posted tomorrow. Good luck, and take care of yourselves." Aria picked up her bag and returned the pencil to the bag as the professor exited the classroom.

"Our entrance exam has been completed; it was difficult for me, but I hope I will pass; are you going somewhere? It's still early." As they exited the room, Christopher asked Aria.
"I'm not sure, my friends are busy, so they won't have time for me today," Aria said, looking through her phone. Aria noticed the other protectors' message.

Logan: We wish you the best of luck!

Jaxon: Good luck, master! We will celebrate today if the results are released!

Irish: I wish you had passed the exam today! If you don't have anything planned for today, come to the mansion where Jaxon is doing his job!

Jaxon: She's correct; I'm painting here at the mansion today.

Christopher noticed Aria's smile.

"Is something good going on? Are you on your way somewhere?" When Christopher asked Aria, she returned her phone to her pocket.

"Today, I'm going somewhere! Maybe next time we can talk together. See you tomorrow, Chris!" Christopher looked perplexed as Aria ran away.

Aria quickly went to the bus stop and is now waiting for the bus to take her to Golden Street, where Lucas Mansion is. When the bus stopped in front of her, she looked in front and in its direction.

She went inside and heard Christopher catching his breath, and she was stunned when she saw him.

"Are you also going to Golden Street?" Aria inquired, and Christopher nodded while catching his breath.

"I had no idea we were going in the same direction! If we pass the entrance exam, we will be able to attend school together," Christopher said. Aria became concerned because she knew Christopher would be perplexed if she said it wasn't her way home.

"Do you live in that area?" Christopher asked Aria, and she immediately found her seat and sat down as Christopher stood beside her.

"Yes, I am temporarily residing there! The bus stopped at Caster University, and I discovered it was the closest to Golden Street." Aria stated that she believed the nine protectors were worried about her right now.

"That's great! I'm looking forward to going to school with you! You were my first friend in college!" Christopher said the bus had stopped, and many people boarded.

They squeezed Christopher, and he grabbed Aria's seat, which surprised her because she was now hugging her bag.

"I'm sorry, are you all right?" Christopher inquired.

"I'm fine, thank you; Thank you for preventing them from squeezing me," Aria said, and Christopher just smiled, not knowing why he felt so close to Aria.

The bus stopped at Golden Street, and Christopher tapped Aria, offering to hold her hand. Aria took Christopher's hand, and he's the one to pay for the two of them.

"I didn't pay!" Aria stated, and the bus had already moved.

"I already paid for the two of us our treat, so consider it a compliment." Aria became uneasy as a result of Christopher's words.

"I'll go this way now. See you later!" However, Aria was followed by Christopher.

"I'll bring you home, and if it's okay with you, I'd like to see the house," Christopher said while walking alongside Aria, who is at a loss for what to do.

They have arrived at Lucas' mansion, and Christopher is taken aback by how large the house is for Aria.

"Wow! This mansion is enormous! And the house is fantastic. Do you live in this house? Do you live with someone?" Christopher asked Aria, and she was about to respond when Jaxon appeared beside her.

"She isn't alone; she lives with me." Christopher was taken aback when Jaxon said this.
