Chapter 39
Aria's POV
Christopher and the others entered the van, Jaxon's van; I hadn't seen this van before. I could only see the big motorcycle and Lucas's sports car, which was gone due to the previous incident.
"I had no idea you had a van; do you use it when you have a vacation?" When I buckled my seat belt in the back and Christopher in the front, I asked Jaxon.
"Yes, but I'm using this car for deliveries," Jaxon said, and I nodded. He started the car, and I noticed Christopher buckling his seat belt.
"When I have my own money, maybe I'll buy a car, but I'll probably need to get my driver's license first," Christopher wished, and I know his dreams will come true someday.
"I want to buy a motorcycle. A motorcycle is more than just a motorcycle. It looks like you're cool when you're riding that," I told them, and Khalil sat down, resting his head on my lap.
"It's dangerous to ride a motorcycle, master. You should buy a car. Instead, Khalil can put some protective barrier if you have a plan to go out," Jaxon suggested, and he began to drive. At the same time, Christopher showed us where we were going.
"The high school I went to isn't that far," Christopher pointed out, and after a few minutes, we arrived at the school.
"It appears that Lucas and Logan have some important things to do for his company, so we should do ours as well," I suggested as they nodded.
"Rain says he's wearing a headset and is now waiting for us," Christopher informed me.
After a while, I noticed Rain waiting, and I knew it was him because he was wearing a headset. Christopher called Rain when he pressed the button to lower the van's window glass. Rain entered the van, and three people could sit in front of the van.
"Are you Rain Harlond? Nice to meet you. My name is Aria Ximena, and the driver is Jaxon Finnegan. And we needed your help." I introduce myself, and he looks behind me.
"It's also a pleasure to meet you! I'm delighted to have a new customer; how may I assist you?" Rain said, and I was taken aback, tapping Christopher on the shoulder.
"I thought this was free because you said he was your friend," I told Christopher, who just smiled.
"Jaxon, you know what to do; you will be the one to pay him," I told him while he was driving, and Rain showed him the location of his house.
"I will pay him, master. You don't have to worry about it," Jaxon said while driving. When we arrived at Rain's house, Christopher went out first, followed by Rain, Jaxon, and I, and Khalil, who, as usual, could not be seen by Rain.
"Is this your home?" I inquired while looking around his house, but Rain did not respond, so I simply followed them.
"Honestly, I think it's creepy," Jaxon said.
"Are you afraid? Is it correct that you are one of my protectors?" I asked Jaxon, and he nodded, so we went inside.
I looked around, there was no one, and the house was clean. I saw the computer he was using with three monitors, and I believe he is living alone here. He opened his personal computer, and Khalil took a seat on the sofa while licking his feet. I took a seat and waited for them to ask me who he was tracking.
"Let's get down to business, shall we? Do you have the phone number of the person I'm going to track?" Rain inquired, so I took out my phone and showed him Kai's phone number, which he typed.
I don't know anything about computers; I use a laptop when I visit my parents, and I use it for studying, not hacking or tracking someone's location to violate their privacy.
"Got it! Give me 20 minutes; I'm faster at tracking people." Rain and Christopher approached me.
"I'll talk to you later," I told him, and he was taken aback.
"We can talk here. Rain doesn't mind if we talk about important things." I stare at Christopher as he says this.
"All right, we'll talk later; I'm sorry," Christopher understood, and I smiled at him. Jaxon was focused on the monitor while we waited.
"Do you want to learn how to hack?" Rain inquired when he noticed Jaxon intended to observe how to track someone.
"I'd like to, but who will teach me?" Jaxon inquired.
"I can teach you. Are you available tomorrow?" Rain inquired, and Jaxon turned to face me.
"You can learn about it; it would help us if you could," I told him, and I could tell he was overjoyed.
"I'm free tomorrow, I don't have work tomorrow, and a tutorial session to improve my skills won't be a problem," Jaxon said, shocking Rain.
"You're already working? I assumed you were the same age as the two." Rain started, I saw that it was successful on the monitor, and the address appeared.
"I discovered it! He lives on Speare Street; do you know where that is?" Rain inquired, and he jotted down the location on a scrap of paper.
"I've been there," Christopher said, and I looked at him.
"How did you find out about that location? Do you have a friend with you?" I asked him, thinking he was joking.
"I lived there when I was under my parents' roof," Christopher revealed, surprising me.
"Then we'll settle this once we get home, and we'll wait for the other protectors," I said, and Rain handed me the piece of paper.
"I'm not sure what you're on about, but here's the location of the person you're looking for! Thank you for the opportunity to do business with you." Rain stated, and Jaxon rose to pay Rain.
"Thank you for assisting us; tomorrow, I will be here around 6 a.m., is that okay?" Rain nodded when Jaxon inquired.
"It's okay, I'll teach you the basics first, and of course, you'll pay me," Rain said, and I was relieved that Jaxon was eager to learn about hacking.
I went inside first when we left Rain's house, followed by Khalil, who lay down again, not speaking to me. Of course, Rain will think I'm crazy talking to myself.
"I'm leaving now; be careful when you leave," Christopher said.
"Don't you want me to bring you to your house?" Jaxon inquired of Christopher.
"I'll stop by somewhere, I need to do something important, and I almost forgot" Christopher scratched the back of his head, and I just stared at him.
"Are you fleeing because I said we needed to talk about Kai's location?" I said to Christopher, who was clearly terrified.
"Well, you can go home now; I'll save the conversation for later; I'll just text or call you," I said to him, waving my hand before closing the window.
"Are you okay, master? It appears that Christopher doesn't want you to be stressed about not telling you that Rain needs to be paid for tracking someone," Jaxon asked, and I sighed.
"You are correct. Stress is bad for me; can we go to a restaurant and get some food?" I asked Jaxon, and he nodded.
"In the past, you were a stress master; now, you can't avoid it because of Kai," Khalil added, and I looked at him.
"I know I just need to be brave and strong this time," I told him, looking outside and playing with my hands.
