Chapter 37

Aria's POV

"Dinner has been prepared! Let us eat so that we can regain our strength." I said this while carrying the plate and placing it on the dining table with the assistance of Christopher.

"Thank goodness you're okay. It looks like I don't need to worry about you because you have protectors, especially Lucas, who is willing to sacrifice his life for you." Christopher said to me as he arranged the plates, spoons, forks, and glasses; I also made Khalil's food, which was raw beef that Wyatt had made just for him.

"Perhaps you can protect me at school; I just wanted to let you know that when school starts, someone might bully me because someone bullied me in high school," I told Christopher, and he was shocked.

"Is that true? Why did you not fight back?" When I sat down in the middle, Christopher inquired.

"I don't want to because it's a waste of time," I told him, smirking as he smiled and patted my head.

"You were really my little sister in the past. You didn't care if someone said something bad to you," Christopher said, and he was right, but it hurts me sometimes.

"Let's not talk about the past because it has already happened, okay? What matters is the present, as well as the future." I told Christopher the food was on the table, the nine protectors sat down, and Khalil was still sleeping.

"Do we plan on eating while Khalil is sleeping?" I inquire about the other protectors.

"He can eat later because his power was depleted earlier," Lucas said to me, sitting on the right side and Christopher on the left.

"So, let's eat our dinner! I'm starving!" While eating, I said I forgot to ask if the gold beside my eyes had disappeared.

"Do you still notice a gold color next to my eyes?" I inquire, and they shake their heads in response.

"It's gone, master, and I think you didn't notice," Isaac said, looking at Lucas, who was eating.

"Why are you staring at me? Do you have a query? I can answer that" While Lucas was eating, I thought about what happened at the event.

"I had no idea Kai was both your adversary and a competitor in your business." Lucas stopped eating after I inquired.

"I didn't know either. It was a surprise for me," Lucas replied.

"Did he contact you before the event?" I asked him, and he was quiet as if he was afraid I would raise my voice.

"Master, you're scaring him," Jaxon said, and I looked at him.

"Stop talking, I'm talking to Lucas, and I'm not scaring him," I said to Jaxon, looking at Lucas again.

"Yes, he called me, but I didn't realize it was him until now, but I have a gut feeling it's him, and I apologize for being slow to notice it," Lucas responded to my question by drinking the juice from the glass.

"Okay, I'll think about it, but do you still have his phone number? So that we can track him," I asked. Then Logan interrupted our conversation.

"Master, you're a genius! Who knows how to track down a person?" I heard Christopher put down his spoon after Logan's question.

"I know how to do it, but I have a friend who is an IT expert," Christopher explained, but can we trust someone he knows?

"Who is it? I assumed you didn't have any friends besides me." He smiled as I said this.

"It's a friend from high school; I'm not sure when he learned to track someone," Christopher said, tapping Lucas.

"Lucas, are you sad right now? Why are you remaining silent?" Lucas stood up when I asked him.

"You can talk to Christopher, then tell me the outcome of your conversation; I need to rest; perhaps I'm just tired and worried," Lucas said as he walked away from us.

"Don't be concerned, Master! I know Lucas is tired and worried about his company, but remember that the dark power is the most powerful, right?" Aiden was correct when he said that he was tired and needed rest.

"I think I'm forcing him to do this; I need to learn how to deal with a problem when Lucas is tired," I said to the others, who nodded in agreement.

"Christopher, what is the name of the person you know? What is an IT Professional?" I asked Christopher, and he took out his phone.

"I'll text him first to see if he's available tomorrow," Christopher said. We're all done eating; I'm sitting here now while Wyatt and Isaac clean the table and dishes. The other protectors wait for my command.

"His name is Rain Harlond, and he said he's available tomorrow." I nodded when Christopher mentioned texting.

"It's all settled now! If that's fine with you, we can leave at 9 a.m. tomorrow. You are welcome to spend the night here," I told Christopher.

"Sure, I can do that, but I think you should talk to Lucas right now," Christopher suggested, and he's right.

I stood up, and as I approached the stairs, I noticed Khalil following me. When I looked at him, he appeared to be okay.

"Are you all right now, Khalil?" I inquired of him.

"I'm fine now. What were you talking about?" He asked me a question and sat down.

"I need to talk to Lucas about the discussion we had; you can come to me, so you'll know what we talked about, or you can eat your meal first?" I told Khalil

"I'll eat later," Khalil said, yawning, and he followed me upstairs.

When I arrived at Lucas's room, I knocked three times on the door before opening it. And he was lying down in his bed, and I believe he was already sleeping; I thought he said I needed to tell him about the discussion.

"He's drained, I can tell, and he's upset about what happened today," Khalil said quietly.

"I understand, but I believe you should eat and go to my room, Khalil. I'll just tell you when I'm done waking up this man," I said to him, and he walked out of the room.

I approach Lucas and sit beside the bed, touching his face; he is still sleeping. I was surprised to see his chest glowing purple while he was asleep.

I believe the dark power reacts because he used too much of it, so I lifted my hand and attempted to connect to his ability. I was surprised to see some auras that are currently attached to me.

I heard him groan and moved my hand away from his chest, and he awoke.

"What exactly are you doing?" Lucas asked me as he awoke from sleep, and I stood up.

"I was just trying to help you regain your strength and power," I explained to him, who simply stared at me.

"I know you have something to say to me, so say it now," Lucas said, taking my hand in his.

"Why do you always hold my hand as if you're afraid I'll back away again?" I asked Lucas, and he didn't respond, so I took a deep breath.

"Christopher has an expert who will help us track Kai down," I told Lucas, who just nodded.

"You will come to me tomorrow if you cannot work due to what happened today," I told Lucas.

"Unfortunately, I need to work tomorrow and personally check the damage in my building. I need to apologize to the visitors and models for what happened," Lucas said, and he was right. He will be busy tomorrow. I should just think about it before telling him to come with me tomorrow.

"It's okay; I'll be with Christopher tomorrow; maybe I'll bring Khalil or Jaxon," I said to Lucas, smiling, and was surprised when he touched my face.

"I know you can do this kind of stuff; I trust you because you are my master and my love of life," Lucas said, and my heart raced.

"That I am aware of! Why are you telling me that kind of love stuff? Go back to sleep because you'll be busy tomorrow!" I told Lucas, and as I was about to leave, he drew me closer to him and hugged me.

"Thank you for remaining alive; please remain alive indefinitely." As I felt his genuine hug, Lucas said something strange to me, perhaps because he was petrified.

"Thank you for also saving me; you are the reason why I am still alive." I thanked Lucas, and he let go of my hug before smiling at me.
