Chapter 25
Aria's POV
I awoke because someone touched my face, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Lucas in front of me, and it was already dark, and I had no idea what time it was.
"Can you tell me the time?" As I rubbed my eyes, I asked Lucas.
"It’s already 6:30 p.m. I'm sorry if I woke you up. "Khalil told me not to disturb you because you might have a dream about him again and we can get information about it," Lucas said, shaking my head and stretching out my body because I hadn't had a dream.
"It's strange, I didn't have a dream," I said, standing up.
"We need to go home now. The other protectors are waiting for me," I said, looking at Khalil, who stood up as well.
"Are we still going to the convenience store?" Lucas inquired because we were already 30 minutes late.
"We could do that tomorrow because I don't have anything to do tomorrow; I'll just stay at the mansion and study martial arts with Khalil," I told him, and he just nodded.
"All right, let's go home." Lucas smiled, then he put on his coat and took my hand.
We left the office, and I noticed his secretary putting his belongings in his bag as he was getting ready to leave.
"See you tomorrow, sir, and good night," Lucas' secretary said, and we went to the elevator with Khalil.
"Are you hungry, Khalil?" If so, we can get you some food." I asked Khalil, who was staring at me.
"You can't feed me dog food because I'm a white wolf, not a dog." He said, and his response made me laugh.
"Are you sure you're going to feed him dog food?" When Lucas asked, I pouted.
"I have no idea! I'm not sure. Maybe he eats raw meat, like raw chicken?" I said to Lucas, and the elevator door opened, and we exited.
As we walk, I look around to see if there are any other employees on their way home; thankfully, there are only the three of us. When we arrive at Lucas Sports Car, he opens the door for me and I enter.
"What do you call this car?" Khalil inquires, and he is already inside the car, whereas Lucas has just entered.
It is a sports car; it's like a carriage but different, "I explained to him," and he simply sat in the back seat of the sports car.
I fastened my seatbelt, as did Lucas, and he began driving as the rain began to fall heavily.
"I didn't realize it was going to rain," Lucas said, and I remembered my mother telling me to bring an umbrella even if it wasn't raining.
"I have an umbrella here; don't worry if we get food for Khalil at the convenience store," I told Lucas, and when I looked at him, he smiled.
"I need to be careful while driving; I can't use my power because someone might see it," Lucas explained, and he is correct.
He resumed driving; there was a stop light; it was red, indicating that we needed to wait a few seconds; and then it was green, indicating that we could go; and we had arrived at the convenience store. I unbuckled my seatbelt, but Lucas stopped me from exiting.
"I'll be the one to buy Khalil food; what do you like to eat, Khalil?" Lucas asked Khalil after saying something to me.
"I like raw meat and chicken," Khalil said, and I handed Lucas the umbrella while we were still in the parking lot.
Lucas went outside and used my umbrella to avoid getting wet before entering the convenience store.
"I had no idea you ate raw meat, but you appear to be a human in my dream." When I asked Khalil, he closed his eyes.
"I can eat cooked food, but right now I prefer raw meat and chicken," Khalil said, and I just nodded while we waited for Lucas.
I pick up my phone and leave a message in the group chat that we will be late; shortly after, I see a message from Christopher. I opened it and was surprised because he said he was at Lucas Mansion and that the other protectors welcomed him inside.
"I have a problem," I told Khalil, who opened his eyes.
"What is the problem?" He immediately asked me
"Christopher is at Lucas Mansion, and the other protectors let him in," I informed Khalil.
"Who is Christopher, and is he a close friend of yours?" Khalil asked, and I was surprised because Christopher might see Khalil later.
"I hope you're not surprised because Christopher is the reincarnation of my brother from when I was Nivia Genesis," I told Khalil, who remained calm.
"I understand that I won't freak out if I see him later; it's possible because you have a connection in your past, but he doesn't remember the past, only you, right?" Khalil inquired, and I nodded.
I heard the door open and Lucas returned with raw meat and chicken in a plastic bag that he had purchased; he began driving after buckling his seatbelt.
"I need to tell you something, Lucas. We have a minor problem," I said to him, looking at him as he drove in the opposite direction.
"Christopher is at your house," I told him, and he abruptly stopped the car.
"What is he after this time? Does he remember you?" Lucas said, and I put on a poker face.
"Don't joke right now; this is a serious issue for me." What if he discovers who I am?" I said to Lucas, and his face was calm.
"It's okay if he knows about it; he's your brother in the past and I believe he can be trusted," Lucas said, making me laugh.
"But you told me to stay away from him and not trust him; why did you change your mind?" I said, and he was now laughing.
"I don't know, maybe because I feel you'll be sad if I force Christopher to stay away from you," Lucas said, and we arrived at the mansion a few minutes later.
"We're here. I'm always here. Don't be afraid. We'll do this together," Lucas said, and I simply nodded before opening the door to his car and exiting alongside Khalil.
"If he betrays you, master, let me handle him; I will use my power on him," Khalil said as he stepped out of the sports car, and I smiled.
"Thank you, Khalil; could you please wait outside? I'll call you after I introduce you to the other protectors," I told Khalil, and he sat near the door when Lucas opened it.
"Welcome back, master! Today you have a visitor!" Christopher approached me immediately after hearing Aiden say it.
"I had no idea you had protectors! They told me you have Auxier Stone, which I don't know, but trust me, I won't tell anyone!" Christopher said, and I was stunned because the other protectors had told the truth without informing me.
"I'm sorry, Christopher. If I didn't tell you, it's because I'm afraid." I said, tapping my shoulder.
"It's all right! You can put your trust in me," Christopher said, and I touched my chest because I was a little hurt.
"Are you all right?" Christopher said, and Lucas allowed me to back up a little.
"If you already know the Auxier Stone and the nine protectors, you might know that she was your younger sister in the past," Lucas said, and I noticed Christopher smile.
"They told me as well, but I don't remember the past; if you died because of the enemy in the past, I won't let anyone hurt you! I will protect you as well, even though I lack power," Christopher exclaimed, and everyone in the room, including the other protectors, fell silent.
