Chapter 48
Aria's POV
After a few minutes, I heard someone knock on the door, so I stood up. When I opened it, Wyatt brought the porridge chicken he made, which he was carrying on the food tray, and placed it on the small table.
"Thank you for this, Wyatt. He's still sleeping. Maybe when he wakes up soon, I'll feed him this," I told him as he exited the room.
I looked at the porridge and used my power to keep it warm if Lucas wasn't awake; I sat beside his bed and touched his hand as he slept; I knew he was dreaming about me again, and I believed he was having a nightmare about me.
I lay down, then I looked at his face, then I touched his face, and my heart raced, and I felt the warmth on my cheeks. I was surprised when he hugged me; was he awake already?
"Are you already awake, Lucas?" I asked him, and his eyes were still closed when I looked at him.
"You're not awake, and you've made me nervous," I said softly to him and let him hug me; he is, indeed, dreaming about me right now.
"I know you're here. Since you brought me here, I'm not sleeping; I'm just resting," Lucas said, and I was surprised and about to get out of his embrace when he tightened his grip on me.
"You know I can't breathe when you hug me so tight," I told him, and he let go a little, but I hugged him with my right hand as well.
"I just want to hug you so tight because it's so warm to hug you," Lucas remarked, and I remained silent, looking down and closing my eyes to feel his hug.
I felt him gently kiss my forehead, and when I looked at him, his eyes were open, and he was looking at me.
"You need to eat Wyatt's porridge. You need your strength back," I told him, and he just smiled.
"I'm sorry if I let go of your hand earlier; I did so for our safety," Lucas explained.
"I understand that you don't need to apologize, but please say something to me next time, so I know," I told him as he let go of my hug. I got out of bed and picked up the tray from the small table.
"You're worried about me; you should learn to cook next time." I pouted as Lucas responded.
"Of course, I'm worried, and I'll learn that next time because I'll be your wife in the future, and maybe Wyatt or Isaac will teach me," I told him as he began to eat the porridge.
"Is everyone all right? I saw an aura connected to us earlier; did you do that?" Lucas questioned me as he began to eat his porridge slowly.
"Everyone is fine. Yes, I did that because I want to help you all," I told him, and he nodded before looking at me after finishing his porridge.
"Our enemies have ruined our date; do you want to continue at a different location?" I was taken aback when Lucas asked.
"It's dangerous to go outside; perhaps we should do our dating another day," I suggested, and he touched my hand.
"I can tell you're sad, but you're right. It's dangerous outside right now," Lucas replied, returning the tray to the small table.
"I was wondering if you could explain how you summoned the eight protectors?" Lucas inquired, and I smirked.
"It's incredible. Khalil taught me how to summon the nine protectors, and I used my blood to summon the other protectors and said a speech spell," I replied to Lucas, who nodded.
"Earlier, the police showed up and asked who I was, but I didn't answer, so I used my dark power using my mind to erase their memories, and when I left, I used my sports car, thank goodness nothing happened to my car because I don't want to buy for the third time," Lucas said, concerned about his sports car, and I laughed.
"Are you more concerned about your car than your mission?" I asked him, and he laughed as well.
"Of course, the mission is the most important, and our mission is not yet complete; we must plan to take down Kai Yarrow," Lucas responded, and he was correct; we must take Kai down.
"Can I request if something happens?" Lucas asked, and I was surprised because I was worried about what he would say.
"You can request anything; I know we need to make this a memorable day while we're in a relationship," I told Lucas, who touched my cheek.
"Let's make love; you can tell me what day and time it is. We'll go to the nearest hotel, and don't worry. It'll be a five-star hotel." Lucas said, and I was surprised, and my eyes become widened.
"Are you already embarrassed?" Lucas asked, and I moved a little before touching my face because it was so hot now.
"I'm not embarrassed; it's just that I was surprised to hear that from you," I told him. He's requesting this because if something happens to the other protectors and us, I'm sure I'll regret not doing it with him again.
"I'm fine with it because we have more free time and days. I'll think about what day we're going to the five-star hotel you mentioned," I told him, and he smiled.
"Thank you, Aria, for loving and accepting me, and I'm glad nothing has changed despite the long wait," Lucas said, and I felt tears well up in my eyes.
"I should be the one to thank you because you were the only one who stood up for my previous parents. You covered up for me when they were about to marry me to someone I didn't know," I replied, and he wiped my tears.
"Who will do that if I don't do it? I promised myself that I wouldn't fall in love with you because you are my master, but fate is pushing me to be closer to you than just a protector," Lucas said, and I wiped my tears.
"Please stop making me cry! I didn't know you didn't want to fall in love with me! But I was the first to admit my love in the past, right?" With teary eyes, I said to him, and he nodded.
"However, when I first met you, you were more than a princess in my eyes. You are the person I will adore forever and protect no matter what," Lucas said, and my heart started racing, and I clenched my chest.
"I guess your heart is beating so fast like mine," Lucas said, taking my hand in his and placing it on his chest, where the heart is.
"Can you hear my heartbeat? I can't stop it from beating like that when I'm with you," Lucas explained, and I can't stop smiling right now.
"I can't stop smiling; you're so sweet and kind!" I told him something, and he laughed, and I was surprised when Khalil entered Lucas' room and looked at us.
"Khalil? What do you need? We're having a good time here," Lucas said, and I laughed again.
"Forgive me, but you need to go downstairs to the living room because everyone was concerned about you," Khalil told Lucas.
"Khalil was right, Lucas. You should come down because everyone was waiting for you to wake up," I told him, and he just glanced and got out of bed as we prepared to go to the living room.
