Chapter 42
Aria's POV
I got out of bed when I woke up and felt pain in my head because I had drunk last night and had a hangover from the drink that Isaac made. I look for Khalil, but he's not here; perhaps he's already downstairs. I stand up and stretch my arms, but I can still feel my head hurt, and I want to vomit. When I look in the mirror, I'm shocked to see the color of my eyes; I scream.
Outside, I hear too many footsteps, and I know it's the nine protectors; they knock hard on the door, and I immediately open it.
"Master, what happened? Did someone break into your room?!" Jaxon yelled at me, drawing his weapon, and they went inside my room to investigate.
"Nothing happened, I'm fine, but I have a hangover," she says. "But look at the color of my eyes, they're light violet, and I think I need to wear a black contact lens." I pointed to them, and Lucas approached me, which surprised me.
"Did I do anything last night, Lucas?" I asked him because I knew he was the one who put me up in my room.
"Yes, and you did something to me, but I like it," Lucas said, and I was surprised, as were the other protectors.
"What have I done?! Tell me! I can't remember because I was drunk," I demanded of Lucas, who laughed and patted my head.
"It's just a kiss. That's all you did; you don't have to worry about that because you're my girlfriend," Lucas clarified, making the other protectors jealous.
"I'm going down now. There's nothing wrong here, master; I thought you were in danger," I heard Jaxon say something, and then Aiden said something.
"Why don't you two just get married already?" Aiden asked, and I laughed. When they left my room, I looked at Lucas.
"Are you certain I kissed you? You did it, not me," I said, pouting.
"You know me, yes, I'm the one who kisses you just because I want to," Lucas said, pinching his cheek.
"Thank you for looking after me last night when I was drunk; did we discuss anything last night? I'm not sure what happened." I thanked him and went to the closet to get some clothes.
"Last night, you triggered the half Auxier stone inside of me, which is why I got hurt," Lucas explained, "but it's okay, I saw the Auxier glow in your chest, and it looks like you're ready to use your powers again."
"That's fantastic! When will I be training my powers to control them properly?" I asked him.
"You should resign from that café, as I suggested, and I can financially support you, so you don't have to worry about that; you should focus on your training beginning today, is that okay?" Lucas asked, and it's fine with me because I'm now a novelist, and Christopher is my editor.
"It's okay, I need to contact the restaurant first to notify the manager that I will be resigning, and I also need to do the turnover properly so there will be no problems before our training," I advised him. He surprised me by hugging me.
"I'll be waiting in the training hall," Lucas said, surprising me.
"Are you out of work right now?" When I asked him, he looked at me.
"I found someone to work temporarily on my position in the company; if they need me, I can just email them what to do, and I can check their work," Lucas said, smiling.
"All right, that's fine. Why are you going to wait in the training room? Are you going to skip breakfast?" I inquired of him.
"I've already eaten breakfast, and you should check the wall clock to see what time it is," Lucas said. When I looked at the wall clock, I was surprised to see that it was already 10 a.m.
"First, I'll take a quick shower!!" I told Lucas as I entered the bathroom, holding the casual clothes I'd be wearing today. I believe I'll need my battle outfit if I'm going to train today.
I took off my pajamas and went into the shower. After washing myself, I used the hair blower to dry my hair and put lotion on my skin, followed by something on my face to keep my skin smooth.
I wore casual clothes, a bomber jacket with a hood. It's red with a small strawberry logo design; I exited the bathroom and went to the mirror to brush my hair.
After that, I exited my room and went downstairs. I saw the other protectors present; will they accompany me during my training?
"Why are everyone still here? Are you quitting your jobs?" I asked them, and Wyatt made me a hotdog with an egg for breakfast.
"Because we own our businesses, we are not quitting our jobs. We are not employees like the rest of the people who work for a particular company." I laughed as Aiden said it.
"You're a teacher; what are you saying if you're also the owner?" I inquired of him.
"I can do whatever I want, but I prioritize my work because I'm not just a teacher, but I'm also the president and principal of my school," Aiden explained, surprising me.
"How come you didn't tell me that before?" It's been four years since I've been with you here at the mansion," I said as I sat in the middle and ate breakfast.
"Because you didn't ask master, plus learning never stops," Aiden said, and I laughed because I didn't know he was the president of his school where he taught some students.
I'm ready to train myself after eating my breakfast; I need to use my power, or else the power will control me again and decide for me. I closed my eyes after drinking the milk, and when I opened them, the nine protectors were shocked because I was wearing my battle outfit.
"Master, how did you do that? Can you wear your battle outfit?" Jaxon asked, and he closed his eyes, but the battle outfit was not visible.
"I just think about the training and the battle outfit wear on," I told them, and when I looked at Lucas, he was wearing the battle outfit.
"How did you accomplish that? I thought it was triggering you," I told them as the other protectors closed their eyes and the battle outfit appeared in front of me one by one.
"You look great in your battle outfit, but Irish and I are the most beautiful," I admired Irish's outfit when she smiled and hugged me.
"Lucas's battle outfit looks like a noble knight," Logan said, and I thought Lucas was fantastic.
"He's Auxier's first protector, I believe, which is why his battle outfit is noble in design," I told them, and Lucas approached me with my sword in his hand.
"It is time. You can use your sword now, observe yourself if something happens if you touch it," Lucas said as he was about to hand over my sword, which I had previously used. I was about to touch it when I remembered we were inside the mansion. Something might happen.
"We need to go to the training hall; I'm afraid something bad will happen if I touch the sword," I advised, and they all nodded, as did Khalil.
"I'll call the Restaurant Manager before we train and inform her that I will resign. I am still thankful for them because they hired me as their management trainee, so I should properly say goodbye to them," I informed Lucas, who smiled back.
"Yes, five months working as a management trainee in a cafe isn't all that bad," Lucas responded.
