Chapter 14
Lucas's POV
It was already Saturday, and we were all set to meet Aria at the mall; she had specified that we meet at X-Mall. We were already there, even though it was too early.
"Is it too early to be at the mall? Did Aria message in the group chat?" Aiden asked me, and I checked my phone, but Aria had not sent a message to the group chat; I believe she is preparing to come to the mall, and I think we're all excited to see her.
"I believe we are too early. Let's just wait for her; I know she'll show up, and you're correct." I told Aiden and people passing by inside the mall were staring at us.
"I think our outfit is strange. We look like rich people coming here to the X-Mall," Irish commented, and I laughed a little.
"Don't mind other people. Let's focus on waiting for our master and having a stress-free day," Logan said after fifteen minutes of seeing Aria come inside the mall wearing a blue jacket and a backpack.
"Hi everyone! Have you waited too long?" We all shook our heads when Aria asked.
"We just arrived and are waiting for you," I told Aria, who smiled back.
"By the way, how did your parents give you permission to go outside without someone?" When I asked Aria, she pointed to Irish.
"I told my parents that I'm with Irish and I want to go shopping, and they gave me money, and she said if I'm going home, they know Irish will fetch me home," Aria said, looking at Irish.
"I guess you'll use your dark spell again to make me younger and copy Aria's height," Irish said as we all began to walk inside the mall.
"I'm so glad we are together with Aria today," Wyatt said as we walked, and I looked at Aria.
"Would you like to go somewhere at the mall?" Aria thought when I asked her.
"I'm thinking about what I'm going to buy," Aria said as we passed by a movie theater.
"Did you say you like fantasy movies?" When I asked Aria, she stopped walking, and the other protectors followed suit.
"Yes, I enjoy watching fantasy films; do you want to see one today?" Aria inquired, and I walked over to the poster here at the cinema.
"I think they have a new fantasy movie out. Let's go see it," I said, and Aria just walked beside me while the other protectors were in the back.
"Look, they have a movie called 'The Beast,' and I think we should watch it because it's fascinating and we'll enjoy it," Aria said. Still, it was rated 18, so I looked around at the other protectors.
"What should we do? She's only fifteen years old, and the fantasy film she'd like to see is rated 18?" While Aria was at the counter, I asked the other protectors, and she was in line now.
"I think you should play a trick on her, use your dark spell to make her look mature," Wyatt said, and I glared at him.
"Are you sure about that? I don't think she'll like it, so maybe we'll tell the counter that I'm his cousin and you buy your tickets separately," I said to the other protectors.
"All right, we'll do that," Wyatt stated, and I nodded, approaching Aria, who was now next in line.
"What film, sir?" The counter lady inquired.
"Two tickets to 'The Beast,' is my cousin allowed in?" I inquired of the counter lady.
"Yes, sir, she is permitted, and as her cousin, here is your ticket." I picked up my wallet to pay the counter lady.
I looked at Aria, who smiled as we waited for the other protectors to buy their tickets.
"I thought I'd have to teach you about lying to someone," Aria said, making me laugh.
"We know what we do because we are your protectors," I explained, and once the other protectors had their own tickets, we went to get some food.
"What kinds of snacks do you want? I'll cover the cost." I inquired of Aria, who pointed to the popcorn.
"I want the cheese flavor popcorn," Aria said, and I nodded. When we got to the front line, I pointed to the popcorn and said, "Make it medium," I also bought drinks for us.
"What kinds of drinks do you want?" I asked Aria as she pondered which drink she would select.
"I prefer iced tea," Aria said, and I nodded as we waited for the others to buy their popcorn and drinks.
"I hope we'll enjoy this awesome fantasy movie," Aria said. She held the two drinks, and I kept the two medium-sized popcorns.
"Let's go inside the theater!" Aiden stated, and before we entered the cinema, I showed the guard my two tickets, and we entered after that. We are now walking toward the seat. As I saw the vacant seat, I approached it.
Aria sat down next to me and placed her drink in the drink holder on our seats.
"Thank you for holding my popcorn," Aria thanked me, and I just smiled while the other protectors talked.
"I can't see anything around me, bro!" I overheard Jaxon say, and they were joking as they looked for a seat,
"Aren't they going to sit next to us? What are they doing going up there?" Aria inquired.
"I think they want you to have your personal space because you are our master, and we respect you," I said to Aria, who I can still see even though it has grown dark.
"Oh, you're serious? So, why are you sitting next to me?" Aria asked, and I was taken aback by her question.
"What do you mean? Why am I seated next to you? Don't you want to be with someone? I also need to protect you because we never know when an enemy will appear," I inquired, and I heard her giggle as she sipped her ice tea.
"I'm just kidding; I believe the movie is about to begin," Aria said, and I looked ahead, and she was correct.
The movie began, and I began to eat the popcorn. I don't know why I can't focus on the film; Is it because I'm with her? Aria was watching the movie. I noticed she was enjoying it.
I noticed that her popcorn was already half-eaten, and she was drinking her drinks; I also drank my iced tea and returned from watching the movie. After another hour, the movie we watched ended, and Aria stood up, looking as if she had enjoyed it.
"The movie was fantastic! I had a feeling! The best movies are fantasy ones!" Aria said, and I stood up as well. I saw the other protectors, Jaxon and Elias, sleeping, so I breathed deeply.
"Wait a moment, master," I said to Aria, and I went to the sleeping two, who were unaware that the movie had already ended.
"Wake up, the movie is over," I said, and the two abruptly awoke and stood up.
"Is that correct? Finished? It's so tedious to watch a fantasy movie." I glared at Jaxon because I heard him say it.
"Did you forget we're in the company of our master?" When I asked Jaxon, he quickly covered his mouth.
"Let's go outside now," Irish said as we followed her.
We exit the cinema, and I can see Aria is overjoyed that she saw a fantasy movie today; as we walk through the mall, she looks at the arcade.
"Would you like to play there?" Aria shook her head when I asked.
"That's not helping me remember something from the past," Aria surprised me.
"Is she doing this to remember something from her past life?" Logan had asked me, and I was perplexed.
"Maybe? Allow me to question her." I replied to Logan and resumed my walk to Aria's side.
"I thought you abandoned me abruptly; what did you say to other protectors?" Aria inquired.
"Nothing, they just asked if it's fun to play at arcades, and I said sometimes, and it depends on what games they'll play, but right now we're grown, and you're mature enough to think, so it's not suited to you," I told Aria, who laughed.
"I like to play at arcades even though I'm older, but it won't help me remember something from the past, am I right?" Aria asked as I stopped her from walking.
"Could you please explain why you want to remember the past? You are aware that you are still fifteen years old, correct? You should not push yourself to remember things quickly because the time will come." Aria became sad after I advised her.
"I understand, but there's nothing wrong with trying, am I right?" Aria smiled as she said this.
"You are correct. There's nothing wrong with trying to remember something, but don't push yourself." Aria nodded as I said this.
"I understand; don't worry about me." Aria continued to walk, and I looked around at the other protectors, who were all quiet about what they had heard from Aria and me.
I let Aria walk ahead of me, and I felt Irish beside me, tapping my shoulder.
"You did what you needed to do; thank goodness she has a protector like you who understands her," Irish said as I walked alongside Aria once more.
"Irish?" Aria calls Irish.
"Yes, master?" Irish inquired, and she immediately approached her.
"We need to buy you clothes in your teenage size because I know Lucas will use a dark spell to make you become a teenager," Aria said. I smiled because she knew my dark spell when Irish and I brought her home.
"Of course, let's go to the department store and get some clothes," Irish said, holding Aria's hand. And I know these two had a good friendship, even in the past, and Irish used to be shy, but she has changed.
