Chapter 51
Aria's POV
We finished our dinner, which was delicious. Wyatt prepared some sizzling steak while Isaac prepared some fresh lobster for us. Everyone scattered to do something as Wyatt and Isaac began to clean the dining table. At the same time, Khalil licked his paws, and when I looked at Lucas, he stood up, and so did I. I follow Lucas upstairs, and when he stops, I also stop.
"What are you doing following me? Do you still want to do something?" Lucas asked, turning around to face me.
"I'm just going to say goodnight," I told him, and he placed his hand on my hair, then on the back of my ears.
"Goodnight. If you can't sleep, come to my room," Lucas said, and I was surprised to feel my cheeks warm up.
"Then good night!" I replied and walked away before approaching my room, entering it, and closing the door.
I clench my chest because my heart is racing so fast, and I look around my room before approaching my bookshelf. I look into it and pick up a book about love, and when I look at the wall clock, I realize Khalil won't be here tonight, so I'll have my privacy time.
When I heard Lucas and Khalil's voices, I put down the book I was reading and focused on listening to them.
"I want to ask you about something," Khalil said, and I'm not sure I'll read the book I'm holding right now because I'm so intrigued by their conversation.
"Ask me anything," Lucas responds.
"Do you have no feelings for another power? What about the curse power? I have a feeling the first master of Auxier secretly gave you the curse power," Khalil said, shocking me.
"Why would my first master give me something like that? It's dangerous when combined with dark power," Lucas said, and I placed the book I was holding on the shelf.
"I'm just curious. Do you know how to let out half of the Auxier stone?" Khalil inquired, and I was even more surprised, so I arrived at Lucas' room.
"Why do I have to let out half of the Auxier stone? Is it imbued with my dark power auras?" They were surprised when Lucas asked Khalil and me to enter right away.
"What exactly are you doing here?" Lucas inquired, and I smiled in response.
"She's listening to us the whole time. You know she can hear us even though she's in her room," Khalil added, and Lucas was about to extract the other half of the Auxier stone from his body when I stopped him.
"Wait! It's risky if you do it! Let me do it for you," I said, and he lowered his hand.
I used my power to manifest half of an Auxier stone inside his body. I saw only the aura of dark power; it appears that he only possesses dark power, with no curse power auras.
"There are no curse power auras," I told them as I inserted half of the Auxier stone into his body.
"I'm sorry if I disturbed you, Lucas; I was just confused and concerned," Khalil said as I used my power to allow the Auxier stone to get out of my body.
"Aria, What are you up to?" Lucas was surprised to see my Auxier stone, which has many auras of power.
"I was just curious. Do you see the curse power auras?" I asked them, and Khalil sifted through it.
"I knew it. The curse power is like the commander of all your powers." According to Khalil, the Auxier stone was beautiful because the color changed every second.
"That is sufficient. Aria, please put it back that now. What if our adversaries arrive and have a chance to take the Auxier stone?" Lucas suggested it, and I inserted the Auxier stone into my body.
"I'm sorry about that, okay? I'll put it back in; I want to show you how beautiful the Auxier stone is!" I said to him, then looked at Khalil lying down.
"Are you planning on sleeping here?" Lucas inquired of Khalil.
"Is it forbidden? If the master has any further questions, I can answer them immediately," Khalil replied.
"I've got one question!" I told him, and he looked at me.
"What if the Auxier stone was destroyed?" I asked Khalil, and when I looked at Lucas, he was taken aback by my question.
"Why are you asking? Do you fear being defeated again?" Lucas abruptly addressed me, and I was stunned.
"I'm just curious; I need to be ready all the time," I told him, and he gripped my hand, looking worried.
"You will die if the Auxier stone is destroyed; you will never be reincarnated," Khalil replied. I was stunned and remained silent for a few seconds, not knowing what to say.
"Master, don't worry about it, you'll be fine, and we'll do everything we can to protect you," Khalil added as I looked down and squeezed Lucas' hand a little tighter.
"I'm worried about leaving you again; what if you die when half of Auxier is gone?" Khalil thought when I asked him.
"I don't think that will happen; they'll just forget about you, as if they've never met you," Khalil reassured me.
"That's good; I don't want the nine protectors to perish due to my actions," I explained.
"But when it was taken, my soul will be stuck at the Auxier Kingdom forever, right? Is it the same?" I ask another question to Khalil.
"Yes, it's the same," Khalil responded, and I just nodded.
"Would you like to spend the night here?" I was surprised when Lucas asked.
"Why did you suddenly suggest that?" I inquire of him.
"I know you won't be able to sleep because we're talking about Auxier stone," Lucas said, shaking his head.
"I'm going to be able to sleep! I guarantee it!" I said to Lucas before walking away from the two.
As I exit Lucas' room, I sigh and return to my room, where I immediately lay down. I'm wearing shorts and a pink top shirt, and I don't think I'll be able to change into pajamas because I want to fall asleep faster.
It was late at night, after two hours, and I couldn't sleep! Why am I considering being defeated by Kai?! The past will not be repeated! Maybe Lucas is already asleep, and I don't want to wake him up, so I pick up my phone. I was surprised to see Lucas' text, especially since it was so recent.
Lucas: I know you won't be able to sleep tonight; would you like me to visit you in your room?
Aria: Return to your bed. I can sleep on my own.
After a few moments, I noticed the door knob of my door open, a dark aura, and it was Lucas! The door opened, and he immediately approached me, picking up my phone.
"Stop using your phone as a distraction," Lucas said, placing my phone in a drawer.
"I'm not using my phone as a distraction; I'm trying to sleep, you know," I told him, and I was surprised when he lay down and hugged me.
Lucas hugged me, and I could feel the warmth of his embrace on my cheek. I closed my eyes to try to sleep, and it worked.
I fell asleep after a few minutes and am now dreaming about something, but all I can see in the big mirror is myself.
