Chapter 50
Aria's POV
"But I still wanted to practice because I wanted to divert my thoughts," I told Lucas, standing up from my seat.
"All right, that's fine with me. What would you like to practice right now?" Lucas asked, and he got up because he was sitting beside my bed with me.
"Anything, I just wanted to distract myself, that's all," I said to him as we exited my room and headed to the training hall.
After a while, we arrived at the training hall, and I put on my battle outfit while Lucas was wearing his battle outfit. He was waiting for me to do something when I approached the middle.
"Are you considering what you're going to do right now?" Lucas asked, and I nodded, then I prepared my sword.
"Let's start with your power," Lucas suggested, and I believe it's safe to reveal the truth about the curse power to him.
"I have something to tell you first, Lucas, before we begin our training," I said to him, and he stopped walking right in front of me.
"What exactly is it?" He asked, looking at me as if he was curious about what I would say.
"Now that I'm the eternal master, I can control the curse power, which is Auxier's hidden power. Do you remember?" I told him, and he was not surprised by what I said; perhaps he knew.
"You're not surprised?" When I asked him, he simply tapped my shoulder.
"I'm not because it's Auxier's hidden power, and I know how dangerous it is if not used properly," Lucas said, and I thought that if I could train my curse power, I could combine it with my dark energy to make it stronger.
"Do you believe combining dark and curse power is possible?" When I asked him, he was thinking.
"I don't think it will work, or if it does, it will be dangerous because it must be controlled or it will hurt you," Lucas replied, and he was correct; dark power is mighty, and curse power is the most powerful.
"I understand. Let's just practice my other powers, like combining two powers," I suggested, and he nodded.
I combined my fire and electric powers as I put on my sword and thrust it, causing a small explosion. Lucas was astounded by what I did.
"I didn't realize you could create an explosion by combining fire and electric power," Lucas explained.
Lucas uses his dark power to create a practice figure that is a trick, and I'm ready to attack it. I use my earth power to create a large rock, then punch it firmly in the middle of the figure, and it breaks.
"Good job; use your other power as well," Lucas said as I took my ready stance, and he created many practice figures using his dark power.
I prepare my battle stance, then attack with my fire, and electric power with multiple sword stabs, followed by wind and water power because combining them will create a tornado as I swing my sword.
"I like how you think about what power you'll combine; you're creative, unlike me; you heard what I said earlier in the meeting, right?" Lucas spoke up, and I nodded.
"I can't interfere with what you're planning, but you can suggest it to others," I told him, and he nodded.
"After I finish killing the figure you made, do you have anything for me to practice?" I asked Lucas, and when his hand moved, I realized he was about to hit me, which is why I blocked his two arms.
I was prepared because I suspected he was about to train me in bare-knuckle fighting or martial arts, so I dropped my sword, and he dropped his sword as well. We began to circle and move around because we both knew what would happen.
Lucas was in a guard stance with a forward side stance because he wanted his most potent weapon in front of him. He had a natural stance, and his back heel was lifted like a spring, and I remembered it so well that I copied him, surprising him.
I rushed up to him and used a double heel kick to try to hit him, but he was too quick and knew where my attack would come from. As he blocked my right kick with his left hand, I managed to kick his abdomen and return to his stance.
I attempted a straight punch, but he blocked it with his right foot, which surprised me because it felt like a tap to the shoulders but with a lot of force.
"I like how you defend yourself; keep it up," Lucas said, and I lost my balance when I tried to rush at him, but he quickly picked me up.
I felt his hand on my waist, and my heart was racing so fast that he let go and looked away. I think he remembers that I'm trying to avoid what I'm thinking about making love.
"Are you all right?" Lucas asked, then looked at me.
"I'm fine; you're quick to ensure my safety," I told him, and he took up his sword.
"Perhaps that's enough for today. Let's rest now and just talk. I'm impressed you still remember the martial art I taught you before," Lucas said, and I nodded. He sat down, and I sat down beside him.
I rested my head on his shoulder as the battle outfit wore off. Lucas has my hand in his and is now looking at it. I'm curious about what he's thinking right now; does he think about the size of my ring finger?
"Why are you staring at my hand?" Do you want to do something with it?" When I asked Lucas, I heard him laugh.
"You said you wanted to distract yourself, but what are you thinking?" Lucas said, and my cheeks began to warm.
"It's not about it!" I'm hoping you'll give me an engagement ring, which is why you're looking at my hand right now," I said, pouting.
"You are correct. I'm thinking about getting an engagement ring, and I also thought your hands were cute," Lucas surprised me.
"Are you now a pervert? So you think my feet are cute as well?" I ask him, and he laughs again, wrapping his hand around my waist and forcing me to move closer to him.
"Perhaps I am because I adore everything about you," Lucas said, and I smiled as a result of what he said.
"You're sweet again, and I appreciate it," I told him, and then I heard someone enter the training hall.
"Are you two flirting again?" I heard Khalil say something, and we both looked at him.
"We just have a short practice," Lucas explained, and Khalil approached us.
"You didn't include me, but that's okay; I was just worried about where the two of you went," Khalil said, making me laugh as he sat in front of us.
"Did you inform him of the curse power?" Khalil inquired, and I nodded.
"I wasn't surprised because I knew it would happen because she's now the eternal master," Lucas said, and I simply nodded.
"But I'm perplexed as to why the Auxier has only nine protectors, although the Auxier has curse power," Khalil said, scratching his back, and he was correct.
"Perhaps the Auxier doesn't want anyone to have the curse power because it's dangerous?" Lucas asked, and I nodded before returning my gaze to Khalil.
"That's right, let's just assume the master has a cursed power, and she's the only one who can use it because she's capable of using that power," Khalil said, and Lucas stood up, which is why I was perplexed.
"Are we going to eat now?" Lucas is questioned.
"Do you not want to?" Lucas inquired.
"I'd like to spend more time with you," I said, pouting.
"Master, you're already spending more time with him," Khalil said, and I laughed because he's right; I spend every day with Lucas.
"Let's go have dinner. I believe Wyatt and Isaac are preparing a delicious meal right now," Lucas said, and I nodded and stood up, excited to eat what Wyatt and Isaac had prepared.
