Chapter 22
Aria's POV
"Good morning Aria! What is this person's name? I thought you were living with someone I saw the day before?" Christopher has inquired about me, and I'm losing words.
"Are you bothered by the fact that I'm his boyfriend?" Lucas unexpectedly said, and I can see his serious expression now.
"I have no problem! Aria, maybe we'll run into each other at school! I apologize for bothering you! I'd better get going now," Christopher said as he began to walk away, and I looked at Lucas.
"Did you frighten him? What made you do that?" I ask Lucas, and he ignores me before getting into the sports car, which I also did.
I buckled my seatbelt again, and he buckled up as well. He began driving, and we were quiet as we traveled to Caster University. When we arrived at the school and parked his sports car, I unbuckled my seatbelt and was about to exit when Lucas grabbed my arm.
"I know he looks like your brother, but I have a bad feeling about him. Tell me your entrance results I'm going to work," I ignored Lucas' advice and waited for him to leave.
When he left, I went inside the school, and since Christopher wasn't there, I noticed students who took the entrance exam looking at the board as if they were trying to find out if they had passed the exam. I approach them and look for my name on the list; I see Christopher's name, but not mine.
"I saw your name. We both passed," Christopher said, pointing to my name.
"Congratulations to us both! I can't believe we both got through!" I congratulated him, and we stepped back from the crowd because some students were still looking at the list.
"Do you have your specifications with you?" I showed Christopher the brown envelope I was holding.
"I'm prepared; what course will you take?" While walking, I asked him then we arrived at Register Counter.
"Bachelor of Arts Major in English Literature, how about you?" Christopher inquired, and I had no idea he was interested in literature.
"I had no idea you liked that course, but we are on the same course," I told Christopher, who was taken aback.
"Really? Why do you want to take English literature?" He asked me, and we went to the line registrar.
"I want to be a journalist, an author, or a freelance writer?" Christopher nodded as I spoke.
"I understand; if you're going to be a freelance writer, I can be your editor!" He said to me, and now we're in lines, with me in front of Christopher.
"Fine, I won't stop you from becoming my editor, but first, we need to graduate and work hard," I advised Christopher, and I smiled as I said that. I'm now the next in line, and I pick up my wallet to pay for the first semester, choose my course, and tell the admission staff in charge at the registrar.
I finished paying for the first semester and obtained the necessary documents, and Christopher was the next to pay. I examined the receipt I received and will show it to Lucas, who will pay my tuition fee.
"I'm done! Do you have anything planned for today?" Christopher asked me.
"I need to see my boyfriend, the one with the sports car you saw earlier," I told Christopher, who nodded.
"Okay, I guess I'll go home by myself, and we'll start school on June 6," Christopher said, and I nodded because it's still May, and I have time to prepare.
"I'll see you in June!" I told Christopher, but he grabbed my arm as I was about to leave.
"By the way, may I have your phone number? If you require assistance, please text or call me." Christopher said, and I was taken aback at first, but I just smiled.
"Sure, I'll give you my number," I said, and he handed me his phone, which I added to his contact list.
"Take care always," Christopher said as we parted ways, and he waited for the bus. I grabbed a taxi, and when it stopped in front of me, Christopher looked at me once before waving goodbye.
I got into the taxi and told the driver to take me to Collymore Company; thankfully, he knew where I was going. I took out my phone from my pocket and texted Lucas that I was going to his company.
Aria: I'm on my way to your company; by the way, I passed the entrance exam; do you want me to stop at a food restaurant so I can buy our food?
Lucas: Congratulations! You are not required to do so; I will ask my secretary to purchase our food; come to me, and we will discuss Auxier.
Aria: Don't you have any paperwork now?
Lucas: I finish them all, and if my secretary calls me with an emergency, I will handle it right away.
Aria: If you say so, I'm close to your place of business, and there's no traffic today.
I exited the taxi and looked at the company that Lucas owns. After texting him, I arrived at Collymore Company and paid the driver. It was a large building, and I could see employees exiting and entering.
I walk into the company, and everyone is staring at me. I notice a man standing in the middle, staring at me. He approached me, and I backed away, fearful that he would do something to me.
"Are you, Ms. Ximena?" He asked, and I'm not sure why he knows my last name.
"It's me. Who are you?" I asked him, and he motioned with his hand to move in the direction he was pointing.
"This way, I'm Lucas's secretary. He asked me to take you to him because he is expecting you," he said, and I just nodded; I was nervous because of his secretary.
It was just Lucas' secretary and me. We were the only two in the elevator, and I could hear some strange song in the elevator. When we arrived at the floor where Lucas was, he opened the door to Lucas's office; I saw him standing with his hands in his pockets.
"Please take a seat, and congratulations on passing your entrance exam." Lucas greeted me, and his secretary left. I sat on the sofa while Lucas adjusted the buttons on his sleeves.
"Now that you're here, what do you have to say about my company?" Lucas inquired, and I looked around to see what was inside his office.
"Thank you for your congratulations, It's fine, and I like how big your company is, but I won't be able to work with you because I'll be taking an English Literature course," I told Lucas, who was taken aback.
"That's great! We'll celebrate later because you passed the entrance exam, and did Christopher do anything to you?" Lucas asked me, and I could tell he was serious about telling me to avoid him.
"You can't stop me from talking to him. He doesn't know about the Auxier Stone, and I know he's my brother in the past, but he doesn't remember me," I told Lucas as he sat on the sofa and leaned against it.
"All right, I know your brother won't harm you, and I think he's a good person, and he doesn't intend to like you," Lucas said. I had noticed earlier that he is kind and treats me like a sibling.
"I observed him earlier, and I can see that he is just trying to be close to me, and he is treating me like I'm his sister. I still don't know why he doesn't mention being a friend, but he wanted to have my number, and he told me I can ask him about anything else like help," I told Lucas, who was now thinking.
"Perhaps he's like a brother figure for you. Even if he can't remember about you in the past, the soul will remember you, acting the way he knew you," Lucas said, and he was right; perhaps he still feels that I'm important to him.
