Chapter 27
Lucas's POV
The dinner that Isaac and Wyatt prepared for us is already finished, and I'm in Aria's room right now, talking with Khalil to better understand him.
"Right now, I need to learn how to fight again, and I believe Khalil could teach me how to fight," Aria said.
"How? He's a white wolf, so how can he show you how to fight and defend yourself, let alone teach you martial arts?" I asked, and she sat down on the sofa after brushing her hair.
"I'm not sure how he will teach me, but I trust him, and before he is human, don't you remember what he said? You are busy with your work Lucas, and you need to do that first before you teach me," Aria said, which surprised me.
"Really? Is that what you're saying to me right now? I told you I would find someone to work as a temporary assistant chief of operations in my company," I said to Aria. I could see the sadness in her expression.
"What will happen if someone takes your job temporarily? Of course, you'll be stressed if nothing works or flows the way you do," Aria said, and I took a deep breath.
"I know what you're thinking, but it's not what you think; am I a fool to choose someone that is not good? Of course not; I am not a moron," I told her, and she closed her eyes.
"What's the point of closing your eyes?" I asked her because I was perplexed as to why she was closing her eyes.
"I don't want to see your reaction because it makes me sad and angry," Aria spoke up, and I approached her because I was leaning against her door.
"I don't want you to be sad and angry; I was just saying that I won't choose someone who isn't qualified to temporarily fill my position at my company, and you and the Auxier are more important." Aria opened her eyes as I clarified.
"Lucas was correct because the Auxier chose you as the Eternal Master, and if the Auxier was in the hands of the enemy, they would have a chance to take the Auxier Stone inside you, and you would die without a reincarnation, your soul will be stuck at the Auxier Kingdom forever which is abandon now," Khalil said, which surprised me because he hadn't discussed it with the other protectors.
"Why didn't you inform the others? Do you only have faith in Aria and me?" I asked Khalil a question while scratching his head with his feet, and he used his power to create the appearance of Auxier Stone.
"That's not it; I hope you understand; if I tell the other protectors about it, they will panic and plan immediately without thinking about a good plan. I'm telling you two because you two will understand," Khalil said. I saw a figure he created alongside Auxier Stone.
"I will show you what will happen to Aria if the Auxier Stone is taken away from her," Khalil said. I saw the Auxier come out of the body and the figure of a human explode with the auras of the Auxier stone.
"Why will Aria's soul be trapped in the Auxier Kingdom, where she lived in the past?" I asked Khalil.
"Because that's where the Auxier was discovered by the first master, if half of the Auxier Stone is taken as well, you'll all be unconscious, and I'll be the one to take the Auxier back to Aria," Khalil explained, adding that it's difficult to fight without a team.
"Don't worry, Aria, we will protect you until we die, and if one of us dies as a sacrifice, you can choose a new protector," I told Aria as he took my hand in his.
"I've never felt this scared before, and I don't know what to say now because all of you mean so much to me," Aria spoke up, and I let go of her hand before touching her shoulder.
"You need to rest now. Tell me if anything happened in your dream or if you had a nightmare," I told Aria, who nodded.
"Can we talk for a moment, Khalil?" Khalil looked at me when I asked him.
Khalil followed me out of Aria's room, and as I closed the door, I began to walk to the rooftop, which has the best view.
"What are we going to talk about?" When we arrived at the rooftop, Khalil asked me when we came rooftop, and he was beside me.
"Could you please only tell me what you know in the future? Because you scared Aria, which I don't like because it makes me worried about her," I said to Khalil, and he fell silent.
"For the time being, Aria is not yet 22 years old, and we need to wait for her to mature so she can be more mature and not be afraid of anything. She is still young, but in time she will be strong like before," I told Khalil, turning around to face him.
"I can do that, but if she asks a question, I will answer it because I know she will find a way to find out the truth," Khalil said, but she hasn't always been like that.
"She's not like that. She'll be patient with everything; I know that because I've known her for a long time," I told Khalil, who waggled his tail.
"I'm less concerned about her because she already has you; you adore her, right?" I nodded in response to Khalil's statement.
"Yes, I love her so much that I want to marry her soon," I told Khalil as thunder rumbled in the clouds.
"It appeared to be about to rain heavily again," Khalil said.
"You're correct; let's go back inside." As we started walking, I told Khalil to go downstairs, and when we arrived, I went to my room.
"You go back to Aria's room. Thank you for your time. I'm done talking to you," I told Khalil, and he used his power to enter Aria's room.
I went into my room and looked at the wall clock, and I was surprised to see that the time had stopped; I was curious as to who had done this, but then the clock moved again, and I was astonished because Khalil and I had only talked for a few moments.
Did he really do that? I'll ask him tomorrow if he can pause the clock while we talk about important matters. Maybe he did it because he didn't want anyone else to go up to the rooftop. After all, tonight's conversation is just between him and me.
I shook my head and went to the cabinet to change my clothes because I was going to bed. After changing my clothes, I turned off the lamp beside my bed. I lay down, looking up at the ceiling and thinking about Aria and what had happened earlier.
After a few minutes, I closed my eyes to get some sleep, and I had a dream about Aria's room, but I couldn't see Aria or Khalil inside. I was surprised to see the Auxier Stone floating on Aria's bed, and the bedsheet was stained with blood. The scenario abruptly changed into a bloody room.
"Aria, Where have you gone?! Make your voice heard!" I yelled, but I couldn't hear my own voice; it was as if someone had stolen my voice.
Someone appeared in front of me, and thankfully it was Aria. And when I touched her shoulder to turn her around, she was smiling, with blood on her neck and holding the sword she had previously.
"I apologize, Lucas." I shook my head as she apologized because this was a nightmare, and I needed to wake up.
"Lucas, get up!" I got up when I heard Aria's voice and saw how surprised she was.
"I tried three times to wake you up, but you wouldn't. Are you okay? Do you have a nightmare? You'll be late for work, so I came here," Aria said, and I immediately hugged her.
"Are you all right?" Aria inquired, and I let go of the hug.
"I had a nightmare. I apologize if I suddenly hugged you; I'm just worried about something terrible happening to you," I told Aria. She touched my face, that I had a nightmare, that I was sweaty, and that I was trying to relax.
"Nothing will happen to me, okay? Take a shower and go downstairs because Wyatt's breakfast is already ready; I am here. Relax," Aria said, and I nodded before she backed away and left my bed.
"I'll go now and wait for you downstairs, please don't worry," Aria said as she shut the door, and I scratched my head and took a deep breath.
