24. The Target Is You
"What's wrong? Do you know that?" asked Aurora, who saw the look on Igor's face change.
Aurora frowned when she saw Igor, who left without saying a word. She stood up and was about to chase after Igor but couldn't escape. It seemed like someone was locking the door of the room.
"Igor, open the door!" shouted Aurora, who thought the man had locked her from the outside.
She screamed while banging on the door, but no one stopped her. Aurora began to look for a way out other than through the door. She saw a window and opened it.
"Still can't go out from inside this room," Aurora muttered after she saw that there was an iron barrier.
Aurora did not give up and continued to try to find a way out. Finally, she felt tired and decided to wait until someone released her. She sat on the sofa and took the phone from her bag.
"This is very strange. Why is there no signal in this room?" Aurora grumbled, who was getting even more annoyed with her current situation.
Finally, she fell asleep on the sofa until the sunset. Then, someone opened the door of the room, and it was none other than Ethan. Igor had ordered him to check on Aurora's condition.
Ethan turned on the light in the room and saw Aurora, who was still fast asleep. Not long after, Igor entered the room.
"How? Did you find that person?" asked Ethan to Igor, who was now near Aurora.
"I haven't found that person yet."
"I'll send my men to find out where that person is," Ethan said again, walking out of the room.
Igor looked at the sleeping Aurora. He stretched out his hand and then touched Aurora's cheek gently. In the past, he had never felt fear of his enemy's attack. However, it now doesn't feel afraid if its enemies attack Aurora.
"I won't let them make you my weakness," Igor said while staring at the face of the woman he loved so much.
Igor took a cloth from the sofa and wrapped it around Aurora. He looked at her intently again. He stuck out his finger and stroked Aurora's cheek gently.
"How did you make you believe in our love a thousand years ago?" Igor asked as he sat down beside Aurora.
Igor took his phone from his pants pocket. He saw the name of the person who contacted him and then picked up his phone. He sat while listening to the person's words on the other end of the phone.
"Hans, do you still need more time to finish it?" asked Igor to Hans, who was one of his confidants besides Ethan and Juan.
Igor again listened to Hans' answer, saying his mission was over. Everything went according to the plan, and he said he would return to the castle soon.
"Good! Remember one more thing. Check everything again, and don't think if everything is done, but you didn't find his body, or you destroyed it with your own hands."
After saying that, Igor disconnected his phone. He was silent for a moment and then looked back at Aurora. Such a beautiful glimpse of the past made him want to go back there.
"Are you awake?" asked Igor when he saw Aurora open her eyes.
"What time is this?"
"It's eight o'clock in the evening."
Igor saw Aurora, who had changed her body position to sit on the sofa. He got up, walked over to the table, and returned to make something new.
"You must be hungry. I made a new one," said Igor while continuing to cook.
He smiled when he saw Aurora, who was already sitting on a chair near the pantry table. It wasn't long before the dinner dish was finished, and he arranged it on a plate.
"Eat!" ordered Igor as he put the plate on the table before Aurora.
"Igor, why did you lock me up this afternoon?" asked Aurora while looking at Igor.
"Eat first! I'll explain it to you later."
He looked at Aurora, who hadn't touched the dish he had already made. Igor thought that the woman in front of him was angry with him.
"Why is there only one plate? Don't you eat?" asked Aurora in a flat tone.
"I'm full."
Igor takes a small piece of meat and feeds Aurora. He is gentle with the woman he loves. However, Aurora brings the fork and eats her meat.
He smiled and continued to look at the woman who was angry at him. His heart felt happy because he saw Aurora eating his homemade food voraciously.
"Tell me why you locked me up earlier in the day. Has something happened? Or do you know about the shadow I've been seeing these few days?" Aurora asked Igor many questions after she finished enjoying her dinner dish.
"Drink first! After that, you come with me!" replied Igor.
Igor walked out of the room after seeing Aurora drinking a glass of water on the table. He continued walking until he was heading to the park. He stopped near a shady tree and sat down under it. Likewise, Aurora sat next to him.
"Maybe you won't believe what I say," Igor said to Aurora beside him.
"Just explain it first! The question of whether to believe it or not is later."
"Okay."
Igor also explained that one enemy wanted to destroy him and was now targeting Aurora. The enemy had the power to move very fast.
"Why is your enemy targeting me?"
"Because my enemy thinks you're my weakness."
"Why? I'm none of you."
Igor turned his face away and looked at Aurora intently. For some reason, he didn't like Aurora's words just now. For him, Aurora is more important than anything.
Aurora is her life. Suppose a thousand years ago, no one told him that the woman would come back. Maybe he had taken his own life in the incident at that time.
"You are Aurora Baylee, who was my concubine a thousand years ago," Igor answered Aurora's question just now.
"It was still a thousand years ago. Do you still think I'll believe it? Then why can you remember if I was your lover a thousand years ago?"
"I will always remember because I have been looking for you, who have been reborn for a thousand years."
He saw Aurora smiling and shaking her head in disbelief. Igor understands that modern women don't seem to believe in this thing easily.
Igor stood up and pulled Aurora's hand. He walked towards a labyrinth that wasn't too far from his current position.
"Let me go, Igor! What are you going to do?!" screamed Aurora as she tried to release Igor's grip.
"Maybe you can believe in me by seeing this," said Igor as he stood up and took Aurora's hand.
"What do you want to do, Igor?"
