30. Unlucky Bearer
"I don't care if she wants to finish me off," Aurora said after she knew who was behind her.
"You're indeed stupid! Why do you get caught and prefer to exist for that weak man?" said the woman who was pointing her weapon at Aurora.
"If you want to avenge death, Jhon. Just do it because I'm not afraid of you."
The woman chuckled when she heard Aurora's words. She wanted to finish her off because Aurora had already killed her father.
"It's time for you to die," the woman said as she pressed the trigger of the weapon in her hand.
The bullet shot towards Aurora, but Ethan pushed his body very hard. So he bounced, and the bullet lodged in Ethan's body.
"No!" shouted Aurora when she saw Ethan was already helpless.
Aurora approached Ethan. She saw the situation. The man's breathing began to weaken.
"Ethan, hold on! I'll take you away from here!"
"No... I can't stand it anymore. Go!"
"Why? Why are you doing all this?"
"Because you are a lover, Igor. I must protect you with my life."
"Ethan!" shouted Aurora because that was Ethan's last word.
Aurora tried to wake Ethan, but the man didn't open his eyes. The man had already lost his life to protect his master's lover.
She heard the woman chuckle. The anger and sadness in his heart was so great. Aurora then moved quickly to attack the woman. She didn't give the woman a chance to strike back.
Aurora's dark side appeared. She was again a cold-blooded hitman. She quickly finished off the woman who had already killed Ethan.
"No one can survive tonight!" muttered Aurora as she grabbed the woman's weapon and left the room.
She fired at anyone in front of her. One by one, the enemies were already dead at her hands. Aurora attacked a man and beat her even though the man was already helpless.
"Aurora, stop!" someone said while holding Aurora's shoulder.
"Don't get in my way!" said Aurora, then she attacked the man who was none other than Igor.
The dark side of Aurora makes it impossible to recognize people she knows. Aurora was very aggressive in attacking Igor. So Igor was overwhelmed and had to hit Aurora until he was unconscious.
"I'm sorry, Aurora," said Igor while holding her.
"Igor, we are late," said Juan, who had just arrived before Igor.
"What, Ethan...."
"He's gone," Juan continued before Igor continued his sentence.
"What about Toms? Has he been caught?" asked Igor in a cold tone.
"He managed to escape. It seems like there's a strong man behind it."
"Take me, Ethan, to the castle!" ordered Igor, and he walked out of Toms Collins' residence.
Igor sits Aurora in the seat of his car. He got into the car and looked at Aurora's face. He was reminded of Aurora's killing aura, and the woman couldn't control it.
"Your dark side is the same as it was a thousand years ago," Igor muttered, ordering the driver to take him straight to the castle.
Not long after Igor arrived at the castle, he carried Aurora to his room. Igor lay Aurora's body on the bed and looked at her.
"Come in!" ordered Igor to someone who knocked on the door of his room.
As the door of his room opened, he saw Hans walking closer to him. He felt that he had failed to protect the people nearby.
"Do you want to see Ethan for the last time?" asked Hans to Igor.
"Hans, I'm sorry for being unable to protect your brother."
"The task has been completed. Ethan managed to protect his master's lover. I'm sure he doesn't regret this sacrifice."
"You go first. I'll catch up with you later," Igor told Hans again.
Igor saw Hans nodding, and the man came out from inside his room. He also stared back at Aurora for a moment. After that, he came out and went straight to where all the people were.
Aurora opened her eyes. She listened to Igor and Hans' conversation. She felt guilty for having been the cause of Ethan's death.
"I'm sorry, Ethan," Aurora said, and then she got out of bed.
She walked out from inside the room, wanting to see the man who had saved her life for the last time. Aurora saw several bodyguards walking towards a place. She thought that they would definitely head to where Ethan was.
"May I see him?" asked Aurora after she arrived at a room.
Everyone immediately changed their stance so that Aurora could walk closer to Ethan. Aurora looked at Ethan's body, which was full of wounds. She remembered the man's struggle to protect her.
"I'm sorry, Ethan. All this is my fault. If I had obeyed all your orders, none of this would have happened," Aurora said with great regret.
After hearing Aurora's words, everyone in the room was silent. However, no one blamed Ethan for everything that had happened to her.
"Stand up!" ordered Igor, who couldn't bear to see Aurora so devastated by Ethan's death.
"No! All this is my fault! If I hadn't denied it, none of this would have happened.
Aurora recalled all the torture that Ethan had endured just to protect her. For some reason, everyone nearby was bound to die.
"Stand up! It's time for Ethan to rest quietly," said Igor in a slightly soft tone. He also held Aurora's hand and helped her to stand up.
"Let go of your hands! Don't let anyone touch me! Otherwise, you will have bad luck!" shouted Aurora, brushing away Igor's hand.
Aurora ran out from inside the room. She ignored Igor's call to stop it until finally, she was drowned in the green garden grass.
"Aurora...," someone called out while holding her shoulder.
"Odelia...."
Aurora immediately hugged her friend and cried in her friend's arms. This time, she showed her weak side as a woman who had just lost someone who had protected her life.
"Cry," Odelia said while continuing to hug her.
Odelia saw Igor's arrival and signaled him not to approach first. The man nodded and stood looking at Aurora, who was in her weakest condition.
"Why? Why did people close to me die? Am I the lucky bearer?" asked Aurora, crying in her friend's arms.
Aurora released his embrace and looked at the woman in front of him. He was waiting for the answer to the question he had just asked.
"Tell me! Am I indeed a bad luck bearer?" Aurora asked Odelia again.
"You're not a bad luck bearer, but...."
"Don't say anything to her!" ordered Igor, who felt that Odelia had said something that was not yet time to be told to Aurora.
