Date

Elena - POV

I rolled out of bed and stared at the dawn rays at the skyline, seeing the glimmers of last night’s memories; when I entered the Moonflower chapel, I heard a female voice in my head calling my name, and I felt a sharp pain suddenly. I don’t know. For a split second, I felt a strange surge in my body. Maybe sickness side effects are taking a toll on my body. I worked out and took a bath. I dressed up for the shoot and dialed Jake. The call went to voice mail; I fed Bruno, who looked chirpy today. Bruno looked gloomy after I returned from the hospital; I kissed Bruno, who joyfully licked my face.

“Relax, little bud; Mum will come back and be a good boy,” I said as the dog sitter came to look after Burno. I took a few deep breaths in the elevator. I saw Janice waiting for me at the entrance.

“You were supposed to meet me at the shoot’s location,” I asked her, puzzled.

“Babe.” I turned to see Jake with the flower bouquet of roses in hand.

“What a pleasant surprise”, I hugged him as he gave me the rose. I leaned to kiss him but stopped as I felt eyes on me. I looked at the entrance to see Silas, who stared at me, and I felt uncomfortable kissing Jake, so I pulled away from Jake. Why did I do that? I wonder because even Jake looked at me puzzled, but as he turned over his shoulder, he stared back at Silas.

“Ms.Hayes, I am so excited about the shoot,” Drake chirped, breaking the tense air. I smiled at Drake’s energy.

“Jake would join the shoot,” I asked.

“No, babe, I just got some around, but after the shoot, we are going on a date,” Jake said as he kissed me as if he was marking me and making a statement for others. I broke the kiss.

“Janice, let us go,” I said. Trying to act normal, I felt so pissed at Jake’s jealousy and possessiveness that it made me sick, and I still plan to work to be in love with Jake and dump him in public and give him the taste of his medicine. Janice handed me the coffee as she read my expression, which I masked well. The car left for the location.

“Ms.Hayes, you can’t go on a date with Jake,” Janice said gruffly, and I looked at her with raised eyebrows.

“I’m sorry it came out wrong. I mean, you have Dr. Rudolf’s appointment,” Janice said.

“No worries, I will manage both,” I said. Janice’s face turned into a frown for a second, but she smiled at me with a nod.

The shoot set up was almost near Wolf Land town; I looked at the fake setup of Pack houses, and they dressed extra people in costumes. I see Silas and Drake’s car halt at the same time.

Cindy smiled as she checked the time. We were all on time. Silas took his seat next to Cindy, who stared at him like a fan girl, and I wouldn’t say I liked Cindy’s and many other women’s eyes on Silas. I glared at Cindy, who averted her gaze from Silas.

Silas noticed the little traction. He smirked at me and got my heart to skip a beat, and I rushed to my tent to hide my red-flushed face. I changed into my costume, a traditional western ballgown.

Stepping out of the tent, I looked at Drake, who was already shooting his shot, and I rehearsed my dialogue till then.

“Do you need help?” Silas’ husky voice as his breath hit my neck, and I felt a delicious shiver run through my body as my eyes met his.

“How?” I asked in a squeaky tone.

“I can act as a lead, and you can deliver your dialogues to me,”

“You know what the Male Lead dialogues are?” I asked.

“I do,” he said confidently.

“I don’t believe you,” I said, going back to read my dialogue.

“How much are you going to run away from me? You are my mate, and I know it was foolish not to understand your love for me. Can’t you see how much love and spark of emotions we have for each other? Isn’t it love? Tell me, do you still deny you don’t love me?” I looked at Silas, shocked at his dialogue. They were the exact words.

“You are a genius,” I whispered. He chuckled, god he looked so handsome that every woman swooned over his smile. I noticed people looking in our direction.

“Elena, I need to ask you a favor.” I nodded my head to continue his question.

“Can I take you out for dinner tonight”, I looked at Sila with surprise. Silas was asking me for a date, and this cold-hearted guy’s changing demeanor made me scared and excited at his proposal. I nodded without thinking and accused his eyes because he had me under his spell, and Silas smirked at my response.

“Meet you at 08:00 pm.” He leaned so close to me as he whispered in my ear.

“Elena, come on, the shot is ready,” Cindy called me and broke me out of my stupor as my eyes looked at Drake, who stared at Silas in rage, and I looked at Silas, who held a smug smile. What is going on between these two?

I shot my single scene, and the next scene is with Drake, where I would fall in love with him before we both recognize the mate bond exists. Drake extended his hand to dance with me; his hand was on my waist, and we both waltzed.

Drake drew so close as we danced, and he looked at me with an emotional gaze.

“Cut,” Cindy said.

Drake’s hand still held on my frame, and I looked at him, confused. He still had an emotion. “Drake, the scene is over,” I said.

“Drake, let go, Elena,” Silas said with a disdained voice. Drake holds on to me, tightening.

“Drake, what the hell” I hissed in pain and grasp, and Drake broke out of his stupor and let go of me as he walked back to his tent. What the hell is wrong with Drake? Silas looked at my hand, which was angry red because of Drake’s hold on me.

Silas looked in rage and walked to Drake’s tent. And heard some arguments between them. It was getting more heated, and the working staff looked at me and then at the tent and murmured.

“What is going on here” Cindy hissed as she stepped into the Drake tent I entered simultaneously.

“I am trying to warn Drake, not harm Elena,” Silas snapped as he stepped out of the tent, and I looked back at Silas. I couldn’t understand Silas’ nature at all.

“I am sorry, Elena, for hurting you,” Drake said.

“Hey, it’s okay,” I said. Studying Drake, he seems to feel gloomy beneath his stoic expression.

The shoot wrapped up, and Janice made sure we discreetly left for our hospital appointment. I felt nervous about visiting the doctor. The illness scared me, and I didn’t know if my chance of recovery would be possible.

“Janice, did you get any news about Lyra?” I asked.

“No, Ms. Hayes, but I have registered a complaint to the officers about her missing, as you asked,” Janice said.

“Thank you for accompanying me here,” I said. She smiles in response. The nurse walked me to the examination room. Dr. Rudolf walked in. As he looked at me, he seemed surprised, and I cursed myself sometimes for being famous.

“What a pleasant day to meet my favorite actress today,” Dr. Rudolf said. I nodded with a polite smile, but I felt weird at his statement.

“Dr. Rudolf, I need my condition and visit to be discreet. If it leaks, you may face some problems. I need you to sign this document,” I said as Janice handed him the document.

“I understand your concern, but I need money,” Dr.Rudolf said.

“The contract will pay you to keep your mouth shut. Sign in, will you,” I said with irritation, and Dr. Rudolf read the signing documents, and Dr.Rudolf read my health chart file and started with the examination.

After an hour of body examination, “We will need to wait to get the result out, and then I can prescribe the medication and follow the next process,” Dr. Rudolf added.

“How long will I have to wait?” I asked, trying to hide my irritation because I now needed to know. I didn’t want to be in the dark about my health, which was not fun and made me anxious.

“By tomorrow afternoon,” the doctor said.

I sighed as I walked out of the room. “Ms. Hayes, are you going on a date with Mr. Smith?” Janice asked.

“No, I was planning to go on a date with a substitute actor and dump Jake in public.” Janice’s mouth hung open as her eyes were wide open. “But Silas asked me for a date, though I couldn’t tell him my plan. When I meet him, I will ask Silas a favor to help me make Jake a fool of himself.”

“Wait, you are acting to be in love with him?” Janice asked.

“Of course. Why do you think I would date an asshole, man? I believe in revenge, Janice, not sympathy for such a guy. Janice, make sure you get the paparazzi ready.” Janice smiled happily at me, sighing in relief. I raised my eyebrows at her reaction.

“I was worried you would go back just like you did back.” Janice stopped her speech, and I looked puzzled. “Don’t mind me; I will make sure the paparazzi are ready, and I have some new dresses ready for the date for you. Ms. Hayes, you will surely like them.”

Janice took me to the boutique, and they greeted me and showed me the fresh designer clothes. I loved the long red sleeves and pleated mini bandage dress, which fit like a glove.

After shopping and returning to the suite to get ready, I dressed, applied red lipstick and nude makeup, put on black strapped heels, styled my hair wavy, and sprinkled some perfume.

I looked at the watch and saw Jake’s text saying is waiting for me at the hotel entrance. I texted Silas to meet me at the back entrance of the hotel and called Janice to my room.

“What happened?” Janice rushed into my room. I stop pacing back and forth.

“Listen, Jake is waiting for me at the entrance. Why don’t you tell him I am busy with some work and can’t make it?”

“Why don’t you text him instead?” Janice suggested.

“He did the same thing to me. Jake didn’t answer my text or call me until the news of his betrayal flashed in the news reports and articles trended. I want to lay the exact revenge,” I hissed, and I saw the determination in Janice’s eyes.

After Janice left, I stepped into another elevator for VIPs to use for a secret exit from the hotel. Silas stood in casual wear, a black shirt and grey denim jeans, and white sneakers.

“Damit, he looks so handsome,” I whispered, and he heard me, making me more embarrassed.

“You look breathtaking,” he whispered in a husky voice as his lips touched my earlobe. I tried not to blush and keep my cool as he opened the car door for me. Silas sat behind the wheel.

“Silas, you have to be my boyfriend and kiss me,” I blurted out, and Silas looked at me for a second. God, I am making a serious fool of myself. “It came out wrong. I mean to ask, can you act like my boyfriend?”
