Maya's Killer
Elena - POV
“No, I killed her.” Emily’s speech is laced with bitterness. “Janice, disguised as Maya, I thought she was looking for a traitor in the Pack first, as she spoke quite cryptic at first, and I gave every test to win Maya’s trust to let me in on what she knows. The day she let me into her fold. Maya told me why she wanted Silas dead and needed my help to kill Silas. The day I learned Janice was disguised as Maya. Also, she feigned a mate bond with my son. I planned to kill Maya with special poison and hire an assassin to stab that bitch.”
“How did she survive if you killed her?” I questioned, staring at Emily, who looked puzzled as well.
“I thought I killed her, but that bitch is alive. Don’t know how.” Emily said with frustration. I saw my phone had ten missed calls from Cindy. I drove as Emily went silent, revealing so much.
“Elena, I ask you to keep this secret with you for a time beginning.” I pulled over my car to the Minnesota studio. “I just want Silas and you to take down Janice and find this traitor in the pack, and once the problem is gone, I will tell him the truth,” Emily said in a plea.
“I think I know who the traitor is.” Emily’s eyes expanded in shock.
“Who is he?” Emily asked in desperation as we walked to the Studio’s entrance. To see Cindy pacing back and forth.
“Elena, there you are. I have been calling you….”
“What is the matter?” I asked, staring at Cindy’s frame. He looked so agitated.
“Janice is missing. We should lodge a missing complaint to the officers,” Cindy said. I sigh internally, don’t know what excuse I should give Cindy about Janice’s sudden disappearance. Janice, that bitch, has fucked my life over, and I wish she is dead for good.
“Elena, did you forget Janice asked you to leave as she returned to her hometown?” Emily said, giving me the excuse to use it.
“Yes, I forgot to inform you, Cindy. She had a medical emergency at her home and her family needed Janice.” Cindy looked between Emily and me for a few seconds as she asked us to follow her into the Studio. I see Drake seated with the editing team. He looked sharp, like always. His violet orbs met mine, which held an emotion of surprise. I could pick up a distinct scent of sand wood from Drake as he walked towards me with a smile.
“Found your wolf. I see. Congratulations, Elena, I am happy for you,” Drake whispered as he embraced me. I could sense his sadness mixed with affection for me. I distanced myself from Drake.
“Thank you,” I whispered. Drake nodded as he looked at Emily and me, asking a glimpse. Why did I bring a chaperone when I had a wolf with me to protect me? I didn’t answer Drake’s questioning gaze. The team asked Emily to sit in the guest room. It was confidential to let unknown people inside the editing room.
Drake and I felt a little uncomfortable when the kiss scene came, which looked so intense. When we shot the kissing scene, I remember how angry Silas was at Drake. Now it clicks they both reacted because they were both trying to get my affection. I was still stewing for revenge on Jake to notice such reactions.
After our hours went by, I got a call from Silas to return, as he needed to speak with me. I sighed out loud that I had to face Silas, and how would I keep this important secret hidden from him? Also, it’s not my place to tell him about Emily.
“Ouch.” I hissed as I poured a hot coffee into my hand.
“Elena, are you alright?” Drake’s concerned voice pulled me out of my stupor. I nodded my head as the angry red mark quickly healed. I blinked a few times, looking at the vanished mark, and I felt no burning sensation on my skin.
“When did you meet your wolf?” Drake asked with an amused gaze.
“Yesterday,” I whispered.
“No wonder you are looking at the mark with an amused gleam, just like a child seeing a magic show for the first time.” Drake chuckled behind his coffee mug. I snorted at his comment.
“What are you doing these days?” I asked, trying to get my mind a little at ease from so much going around.
“Boring as ever works and work, I used to enjoy being an actor,” Drake muttered.
“You can work as an actor. You have a handsome face and superb acting skills.” I said, sipping on my coffee.
“It’s good to hear praise from you and know you think I am handsome,” Drake said with a teasing smile. I rolled my eyes at his comment. “I don’t want to get cast and work with other women apart from you.” Drake stared at me for a few seconds.
“Drake, you know I have a soft corner for you as a friend and not more than that,” I said, trying to be cautious with words, but I saw his feelings getting hurt by my words.
“A guy can try,” Drake said with a smile. I sighed at him. “What is going on with you? I have seen you zoning out?” Drake looked at me, waiting for my answer. “Let me guess, trouble in paradise.” I glared at him.
“I wish I could tell, but these wolf Land problems,” I said. Drake stares with concern.
“Did Jake do something else? I have been trying to get hold of that bastard to help you take your revenge.” Drake added. I looked at him, surprised at his words.
“What with your shock look, you think I would sit hand in hand, let that bastard run loose who hurt you?” Drake said in annoyance.
“Jake is in our custody,” I said.
“If Jake is in custody, what are you worried about?” Drake asked. I want to tell him about Janice, how right he was not to like her. Maybe Drake the dragon sensed it.
“The suspense is killing me, Elena. Speak up,” Drake asked impatiently. I held his hand and walked him through Emily to ask if she could let Drake in because I felt that Drake Dragon could help us locate Janice. Emily looked at me and the connection of my hand holding Drake’s. I let go of Drake’s hand. Her stare reminded me of Silas’ rage for a second.
“What?” Emily asked.
“Can we let Drake in? I believe his Dragon can help us track her down.” I said. Emily looked at Drake.
“What is going on here? Mind tell me.” Drake asked.
“Your wolf agrees with your discussion to take Drake in.” I nodded my head as I heard Celeste saying, a good idea.
“Fine, if your wolf agrees, you can tell him about Janice,” I nodded. I explained to Drake not before making a magical promise to keep a secret until it needed to be hidden from Silas.
“What the fucking hell? I knew Janice was a bitch, and my Dragon sensed an ominous aura around her.” Drake hissed. Learning the mastermind is Janice and how she was trying to kill Silas, but Emily thwarts her plan when Janice came at me through Jake to kill me failed.
“We need you to track Janice with your dragon powers,” I asked.
“I will need to see the scene where Janice was kept in a dungeon. I can use my magic to find her.” Drake added. It was tricky to get Drake in the Pack. Silas hates him.
“I think I will try to convince Silas to let you in to step into his pack first,” I mumbled, and Emily sighed, knowing how hard the argument waited for me with Silas. I drove with Emily and Drake to the Pack.
“You didn’t tell me the traitor of the Pack could be?” Emily asked.
“Emma” Emily looked at me, surprised.
