Double Twist
Silas - POV
"It seems the Dark Angel crew attacked Dr. Rudolf," Emily said, examining the body. Why does the Dark Angel attack Dr. Rudolf? Could it be Dr. Rudolf involved with Jake?
"Yuri and Mac search Rudolf's home and his clinic," I said. I walked back to the Mansion, where Elena was waiting for me and worried about learning the news of Dr. Rudolf passing away.
"Alpha silas, we have Alpha Theo and Beta Luke at our Pack border," the guard on the border mind-linked.
"Lead them to my office."
"Silas, who killed Dr. Rudolf?" Elena asked with concern.
"The Dark Angel as per Emily's examination," I whispered. Elena looks confused for a second; then she recollects who the Dark angel's crew is.
"Jake, but why Dr. Rudolf? I could understand Letty and Jake's connection, but..." Elena paused, seeing my stiff composure.
"Why are you peering into the distance? Are you expecting someone?" Elena asked, following the direction of my gaze. Theo and Luke strolled towards us.
"Alpha Silas, nice to meet you again. " Theo smiled and looked at Elena and me with curiosity.
"Why are you here?"
"Grumpy, as also Silas. We are friends, and you didn't tell me you found a mate," Theo added with a smirk.
"Don't push it, Theo; get to the point." Theo sighed at me.
"I came here to invite you and Luna to join the Moon harvest festival in our Pack tomorrow."
"You could have sent Luke to inform us. You came personally to our pack to invite us." I examined him and Theo's calm look, but it didn't settle.
"It will be disrespectful to New Luna, so I came to invite you and Luna personally," Theo said. His gaze lingered on Elena for more than a minute. The urge to pluck his eyes out of his sockets surfaced.
"You better keep your eyes off my woman and stop making her uncomfortable, or else I might draw some blood."
"Silas," Elena gasped at my threat. Theo raised his hand in surrender, and with a smile, Theo walked away, with Luke following him behind.
"Alpha, we found something suspicious. We need you at Rudolf's house." Yuri mind-linked. Elena accompanied me to Dr. Rudolf's house, though I insisted Elena rest. She didn't listen to me, stubborn as always. Yuri was on Dr. Rudolf's laptop was decoding, and Mac was searching the other rooms.
"Alpha, I found some emails exchanged with unknown sources. It related the instruction to Elena's lupus." Yuri displayed the emails, and Elena and I looked at the context. It was the instruction given to Dr. Rudolf not to provide medication for Lupus' illness, but the potion of calm to ease Elena's agony.
The following email sent out was from Dr.Rudolf. It was a threat to the unknown sender to pay the amount promised, or he would expose his identity to me and show the emails exchanged between them as proof.
I re-read the emails to find a clue about the unknown sender; I found a sentence that mentioned Seal cast on Elena. This problem is more significant, so I assume this unknown source could be Jake. If he was behind this, Jake knew that Elena's magic seal is the reason for her ill health. Yet that asshole tormented Elena.
"Alpha, I found a bank statement," Mac said, handing me the document.
"Let me look into it." Elena took the paper in her hand, looked at the numbers, and typed something on her phone, and we three waited, looking at Elena, who was texting back and forth.
"Elena, curiosity is killing us," Yuri said.
"This account is familiar to me, but I am in contact with my accounts team to check it for me," Elena added as she glued her eyes to the screen.
"So it could be someone from the team?" I asked.
"I think so, but not sure who it is," Elena whispered.
"The suspense is killing me," Yuri added. Elena paced back and forth, waiting for the message from the team.
"Elena, we can work out this mystery later. You look like shit," I hissed.
"Wow, that is what the woman wants to hear from her man." She grunted.
"You have a way of pushing my buttons," I growled.
"Deal with me because I can bitch when I have to be," Elena snapped.
"Christ! they fight like married couples," Mac mumbled. Elena and I glared at Mac. Yuri sighed at us.
"I can pick up Alpha Theo's scent in our Pack," Yuri said, trying to deter the conversation.
"He invited Elena and me to the Moon Harvest festival tomorrow."
"Huh…. He never invited us before to his Pack this first time," Yuri exclaimed. "Believe me, Alpha, the blood pack and shrine have some connection. He must have invited her because he wanted to discover Elena's powers."
"I think your argument could be right," Elena added. "We should go to his pack and discover something, then sit empty-handed." Elena looked at me to see if I agreed to her coming with me.
"Fine," I sighed. Elena smiled at my acceptance to take her to the blood pack. I'm not too fond of the idea. I sensed there could be a danger for Elena, but I knew Elena wouldn't sit with her fine ass back.
Yuri and Elena went to shoot and shopping. I had piles of paperwork to get done. Mac was busy with funeral services for Dr. Rudolf. I paused, looking at the photograph of the wedding. Maya and I looked so happy. I put the photo frame in the drawer because I now have a mate, Elena, though I care about Maya and she will always have a place in my heart.
I checked the tracker on Letty that Mac had put discreetly on Letty. It showed that Letty was still at the Inn, where we had given her a place to stay and spy on Jake. I hope she pings back on his status. I am dying to kill the motherfucker by tormenting his soul and every existence.

Jake - POV
"We are close to time, yet we don't have the key to return home." Shawn hissed.
"We tried the methods given in the shadowy book of hell, and yet Elena didn't reveal the map, that bitch." Kevin spoke in his frustrated voice.
"I don't think Elena is aware of the Paradise Key. They have misled us."
"What do you mean?" Roger asked.
"Can't you see all four Dark angels freed from the hell cell by Blood pack Alpha Theo? He gave us the false promise of sending us back home. He just needs us as his slaves to do his dirty work." I hissed, throwing the whisky glass on the wall.
"Shit, we acted in his favor because we wanted to get out of hell." Kevin hissed.
"So our powers are in Theo's hands, and so is our fate. Our chance to return to paradise and get our revenge is gone." Shawn growled.
"I don't understand why Theo asked us to torture Elena, and we killed her maid, too. For what? Nothing in return," Roger said.
"Oh, gentlemen, don't lose hope in Theo yet. He is the mastermind behind every move he makes." A woman wore a mask to conceal her identity, dressed in black and a hoodie covering up.
"Who the fuck are you? How did you get in?" Kevin grunted, taking his fighting stance. This woman is a wolf shifter and not human.
"Relax; I am sent by Theo to send you a message." She said coolly.
"We are all done playing Theo's games. He promised us the key to paradise, and we got nothing. Theo asks to put Elena's life in danger to get the Paradise Key information out of her, but she is human and ignorant that mythical things even exist, yet we follow Theo's orders blindly. You want us to trust Theo," I snapped.
"You all have to follow Theo. You are aware, right, the dark angels have a deal with him." The woman added.
"Bitch, you have done to speaking; show your true identity," Kevin hissed.
"You all look so surprised." She said as she discarded the mask and the hoodie cap. Fuck, how come I didn't see this coming?

Elena - POV
I met Bruno after a long time, and Janice smiled at seeing me. I had gone to the Inn to take my things to stay awhile with Silas to get the mystery and my health treated by Emily after Dr. Rudolf passed away.
"I told the team you would be gone on a mini-vacation. Don't worry; I will coordinate with editors and the VFX team to prepare the movie soon." Janice added, looking at her phone.
"Thank you for taking care of everything. I owe you a bonus check." Janice looked at me with surprise and a happy gleam. I got out of the elevator to the hallway of the Inn for checkout. I looked at my team, who were waiting to meet and give me gifts.
"Happy birthday in advance, superstar. You get more success and a long life," Cindy said, as she pulled into an embrace. She handed me the gift, and other members greeted me and gave me beautiful gifts.
"When is your birthday?" Yuri asked. "Oh, wait, don't answer. It's after three days, right?" I nodded at Yuri.
"Omg, I have to send Alpha so he can free his schedule," Yuri said as she texted Silas. After warm greetings, Yuri stopped the car in the boutique. "Yuri, I need your help. I know Silas liked the color black, so which dress should I pick for the harvest festival?"
"You figured Alpha's favorite color?" Yuri asked. I nodded. It was easy to see because I saw his locket and ring, which were black. Not only that, he had a wardrobe full of black sets of clothes.
Yuri asked me to wear a classic costume with a V neckline and sleeves of the dress shoulders, which was black and studded with shimmering diamonds and red heels.
Yuri and I enjoyed the spa and manicures, and Yuri didn't need manicures and pedicures because they were already there, thanks to her wolf magic.
"Go before we get the Pack. We need to put a different leash on Bruno. The wolves don't like the scent of stray dogs." Bruno growled at Yuri's words. Yuri passed me a leash that held magic to mask Bruno's scent.
"Oh, we have a little guest. Huh," Mac said as we reached the Mansion. Bruno looked shaken as we crossed Wolf land. Bruno was in my arms as he calmed down. I put him in his small bed.
Silas walked with a smile as he saw me, and before I could pull him into an embrace, my phone buzzed. I checked the ID. It was my accountant, Mr. Leo. "Ms. Hayes, the accountant's details you gave us, tracked them through our database. It belongs to Janice Stanely."
