Validating the reality
Elena - POV
Tonight I planned to visit these witches, and Yuri said she would accompany me, though I said she shouldn’t come along; she was stubborn as hell. Before I see the witches, I plan to meet Emily. I called her to the Human city, and it was tough to get Emily and me out of Wolf land as Silas asked too many questions before granting permission. I hate to ask permission, but I also know Silas wants everyone to be safe.
Emily and I sat in the VIP lounge. “Thanks for arranging this. I meant to speak with you.” Emily added, sipping on her coffee.
“I need to know a few things from you as well,” I added.
“I know what you want to know, Elena. The day I was leaving the Pack, you distracted Silas and alerted me about him tailing me.” I gazed at her straight in her eyes. Thanks to mind reading power, I could read Emily’s thoughts. She was going to the Blood Pack to investigate more about Alpha Theo’s corpse and to get more information through her magic. But before I learned more about Emily’s plan, I assumed she sensed my power lingering around somehow. She blocked me from reading her thoughts. I wondered how she did it.
“Care to explain why you asked me to stop Silas from being the Alpha? Silas being the Alpha of the Blood Pack?”
“Remember when I told you I killed Janice disguised as Maya, but I wondered all this time how she came back to life and if she did, then when I met her Gala event, she didn’t approach me or threaten me when Janice knew I was the one who ruined her plans back then.” Emily rubbed the bridge of her head and sipped coffee, and her face looked exhausted, too. “So I wonder if Janice has something planned because of the killing of Theo in front of Jake. Why would she keep Jake alive? She could have killed him to leave no evidence if she planned to assassinate Theo; she could have done it long back. I felt it was better to keep Silas away from this suspicious back, and when the elder of the Pack came begging, I felt something was fishy. What more fishy was it when Silas accepted the position of Alpha of the Blood Pack? The hellfire monster disappeared and didn’t attack the Pack anymore.”
“So much mystery…. Ugh… I tried to mind-read those elders, but I couldn’t get any malicious thoughts,” I added. “So that is why you left the blood pack you checked on Theo’s buried corpse?” She nodded her head.
“I am also trying to uncover the mysterious kidnapping of young she-wolves from the Blood Pack, and I learn one thing more: these girls were disappearing from the location next to the shrine where your seal was undone.”
“Did you get any information on Emma or anything suspicious?” I asked.
“I have been tailing her for days, and nothing concrete yet.”
“Well, did your wolf say why you can’t shift?” Emily asked. I nod.
“I don’t know when my body can be fit to shift into a wolf yet,” I added, not trying to sound dejected, but I couldn’t disguise my emotions well. Emily looked at me with sympathy as she placed her palm on mine.
“Things will be better soon, Elena,” she said with reassurance.

“Celeste, why didn’t the witches come to visit us yet? “I asked. Get ready to leave for the witch’s location. Yuri had asked permission from Silas, giving the excuse of a girl’s night out.
“I am not sure what is wrong with witches.”
“El, you gorgeous,” Silas purred, giving a heated look as he leaned to kiss me. “Come home safely.” He added as I left with Yuri. I drove to Yuri’s car. I could pick up a faint stench of blood from Yuri.
“Did you visit dungeons to straighten the prisoners?”
“How did you know?” Yuri asked, raising her eyebrows.
“Blood stench.”
“I washed so much, and I couldn’t pick up any scent of blood on me.” Yuri took the whiff of her hands, and I noticed her knuckles had some bruises that were healing slowly.
“What happened in the dungeon?”
“Oh, Alpha was ordered to interrogate Letty, Jake, his minions, and Luke, but nothing useful came out of their mouths. I think Alpha will execute them soon.” Hearing that was a relief too. I wanted Jake to be miserable. Silas kept his promise that he would take
revenge for me.
“You look calm. I thought you would cringe hearing this.”
“Jake did so much worse things to me and killed Lyra. That monster and his minions should be executed. Letty is a bitch as well, and I know little about Luke,” I added.
“Do you want to meet Jake and throw some blows at him?” Yuri asked cautiously. “I know it won’t change the trauma and suffering you have gone through, but it will help you ease that pain a little, I guess.”
“I will try to follow your suggestion and see..” I added, and Yuri gave me a small smile.
“Take the next left, Elena,”
“Stop”. I hit the brakes, killing the engine and the big iron gates, and I could see in the distance it was a society that was quiet.
“Are you sure this is where witches stay? It looks like such modern homes, unlike___” I trailed off, not adding Emily’s name and
how she described how they lived in the forest for years.
“I know it surprised you to see these witches are living among humans and not in the woods. They recently moved here.” Yuri added as she opened the Iron gates and walked in first as I followed her inside. I hear one door open first and then the others following house doors open. Witches stepped out of their homes.
“What brings the wolves to our colony?”
I held Yuri’s hand to stop her from speaking. I scan the crowd to find Clan’s head. I knew the woman who questioned was not the leader, as I sensed her aura, and it gave me the vibe of a mild wind. The clan head has the power of fire and light, according to Emily.
“Speak,” she said sternly.
“I need to speak with your clan head Abi,” I said calmly.
“I am the head speak.” The same woman answered.
“You are not.” She glared at me.
“She is the Luna of the Silver canine Pack, so when Luna asks you about your clan head, you answer her,” Yuri said sternly.
“Your Luna, weak and can’t shift, wants to meet our clan head. She won’t meet you.” The woman said.
“You ___” I held Yuri again and linked her not to engage in blows with them.
“I am weak now, and I can’t shift. I assume, therefore, your clan members didn’t come to pay a visit to my wolf and pay respects. Even if that is the case, I don't care. I am just here to ask a serious question that needs to be addressed,” I said firmly.
“What do you need to ask?” The woman from the other side stepped out with her aura of fire and light. She asked everyone to leave and led Yuri and me to her home.
“Emily was comatose for two decades, and who brought her to your colony?”
“Strange Emily told you about her past.” Yuri stared at Abi and me, looking confused.
“She did. I need to know if it’s true.”
“You don’t trust ease, even if I tell you it’s the truth. You won’t believe me either,” Abi added with a smile. This old lady was pushing my buttons. How the hell did she know that?
“No need to get angry, Elena,” Abi added.
“You know my name.”
“Of course, not everyone has the first she-wolf energy.” Abi got up from the couch, walked towards the crystal ball, and placed it on the table. “You can see the past of Emily here and decide if she was telling the truth or not.” I saw what Emily narrated to me was accurate, and I could hear Yuri gasp, looking at the events in the crystal frame.
“No fucking way…. Emily….. Alpha Silas mother….” Yuri looked at me with wide eyes. “You knew this…. how long…”
“Recently…. I mean, when I met my wolf, Celeste.”
“Why didn’t you tell Alpha yet….” Yuri scolds me.
“Can we talk about this later, Yuri”, she gave me a frown and shut her mouth.
“Thank you for your help; we should leave..” I added.
“Elena,” I turned over my shoulder to meet Abi’s gaze. “Theo is alive and in hellfire with Janice. They are planning to open the paradise gate from another ritual that needs the sacrifices of fifty teen she-wolves; the last offering will be you, Elena. If you don’t shift soon, you can’t stand their power, and though Alpha Silas is strong, he would lose his strength if you were dead. Tell Emily not to worry about us. We are safe here, and no hellfire monsters will attack the colony thanks to her power. Please thank Emily from my end.”
“Wait, Emily’s power. What do you mean by that?”
“If she had power, why didn’t she mention it to Alpha? We could have put a barrier of protection from the Hellfire monster for which they wouldn’t step in.” Yuri added.
“That power she used can only help witches and not wolves,” Abi added.

“Seriously, Elena, you knew and didn’t even utter a word about Emily,” Yuri yelled as we got in the car. I explained to Yuri that Emily asked me to keep a secret and that Emily did not open up to Silas to find the Traitor first, as she worried if Silas learned about this, he would punish them, and there would be no leads who were behind this plan.
“Emily is right. Alpha won’t listen to spare their lives; he will kill them on the spot. He turns ruthless to his enemies and traitors and liars.”
“I know by now how Silas doesn’t forgive and take action,” I said with a sigh. I know the reasons.
“I torture Letty and Jake and Luke every day. Because Alpha believes they are aware of something, that is the reason Alpha has kept them alive, or else they would be dead long ago.” Yuri said.
“I have an Idea. How about using my mind-reading? I can know the truth.” I added.
“Wait, you can read people’s thoughts.” Yuri gasped. “Lord, how many secrets you have…. ugh, Elena, I thought I knew everything..”
“Drama Queen,”
“Hey, I thought you divulged everything to me. I am your best friend, after all.” Yuri made puppy eyes, making me chuckle, and she growled at my reaction. “You are mean, Elena. I am worried about you, so please don’t carry the burden alone. I wish you could rely on Alpha and me.” She added with sincerity.
“I will try to, Yuri. I am sorry for keeping this information.”
We got to Dungeons before, and I paused, looking at a bloody scene and the swollen face of Jake and his battered body and Luke’s and Letty’s horror gaze looking at me asking for help, and I looked at Silas, whose eyes held a golden hue with a murderous aura that gave me shivers down my spine. I could see how monstrous my mate could be when he wanted to put his enemy down.
“Elena, why are you here?” Silas covered my sight, and I saw his ocean-blue eyes, which warmly looked at me. I couldn’t stand the blood scent and the aura, but somehow I pulled myself together.
“I have the idea to help you,” I whispered. I told Silas my plan through the mind link.
“Elena, it’s dangerous. You are still weak..”
“Silas, please trust me. I can find the secrets you want from these traitors.”
