Shattered Dreams
Silas - POV
I shift into my wolf form and glower at Theo and Janice, who step down from their thrones. Emily shook her head and cried for me to leave as tears rolled down her eyes. It upsets me to see her like this. My wolf, Ray, can sense the connection as she is family, and I knew things were true. I needed no more confirmation about Emily. I knew it was time to free my mother and have her go home with me and be with my mate.
Theo changed into his gray wolf and stood at full height, baring his canines. I clawed at his face as he growled more in fury at me. I dodged his attack and knocked him on the back so hard that Theo fell to the ground, moaning. Seeing the time, I reach Emily's aid, but before I do, a black wind pushes me backward. As I staggered back, I put my heels on the ground to stop the magic effect.
"If you move, I will kill your mother." Janice held a sharp sword to Emily's throat. I shifted back.
"What do you want?" I hissed.
"Your powers, Silas, will help me get more powers from Paradise, and in exchange, I will let go of your mother and fix your mate, Wolf," Janice said coldly as Theo stood up and shifted back to human form, his gaze furious.
"You don't trust this evil woman." Emily cried out. "Hmmm…" Emily groans as she slashes Emily's arm and jabs the knife at her back.
"Stop; I will do what you want from me." Janice gave me a devilish smile as she let go of Emily's comatose frame. "But I need Emily to be out of this place first. I will escort her to the gate to get treated, and you take my power."
"You have no power to ask for such favors." Theo glared.
"I bet I do. Janice knows well that no one can take powers until I give them willingly," I smirked. Thanks to Emily's mind, Link explained quickly about my power before she lost consciousness. That is the reason Janice failed back then. I could see her glare at Janice and at me, and she stopped Theo from doing anything to me as I took Emily's frame in my arms and walked straight ahead. I saw Maya's eyes looking at Emily and me with concern.
"Maya, can you do me a favor?" she nodded meekly. "Take Emily to the gate of hellfire and give it to my mate. Tell her I love her always, and she should be the active Alpha. Tell her I will always love her."
I handed Emily's frame to her, and Maya looked at me with grief. "Are you planning to lock Theo and Janice in this realm forever with your power?" I nodded my head to Maya.
"Send a signal as you finish the task. I will then play my cards." Maya nodded and floated with Emily's frame. I walked towards the back. Who wore smug smiles as they thought they won and had the power.
I hope Elena can forgive me for leaving her behind alone. I wanted to be next to Elena for the rest of my life, but this seemed like a dream. Emily told me they would come after Elena after taking my power and killing her. I should lock them in their hellfire and then let them step out of this place and dis-balance the peace of everyone.

Elena - POV
Pacing back and forth, the tension and worry bubbling within grew. This uneasiness about Silas is not okay, but I tried to push those thoughts away; positive thinking was not working in this unknown situation of danger.
"Elena, will you sit at once seeing you like this? It bothers me." Drake added. I glared at him to shut up. He sighed in return.
"Drake, I think I will go inside. I can sit twiddling my thumbs." I Hissed.
"Over my dead body, you are not leaving at all." Drake snapped as he stood to his full height and obscured the path.
Creek! Creek!
Drake and I stare at the shrine door, and the ghost appears with something else floating in the air. Looking closely, it is Emily, and the spirit is Maya. "You must be Alpha Silas Mate," Maya asked. I nodded as my eyes searched for Silas to appear, but he didn't.
"I have some news to share with you.." Maya said dejectedly. My attention snapped at her tone.
"Alpha Silas told me to tell you he loves you, and he asked you to look after the Pack after him. He is sorry for leaving you behind," Maya whispered. I stood still as my blood ran cold, and Maya left, leaving Emily's unconscious body at my feet.
"Silas!" I screamed as the door shut behind Maya. I ran halfway to get inside and save Silas, but Drake pulled me from my waist, and a light glow blinded us as I saw the shrine, where nothing turned to dust.
"No! Silas!" Hot tears rolled down my cheeks as I struggled to get out of Drake's hold, who was holding me as I howled in agony. Drake let go of me as he felt my wolf Celeste surface to take control of my body, to howl in agony and tell the Pack of the sadness of losing a mate.
I moaned in pain as I shifted into a wolf and the pain in my body was nothing compared to the ache in my heart that was so heavy for me to breathe. I howled in agony and alerted Yuri and Mac to come to help Emily. I ran aimlessly into the woods. The wolf's power was growing so strongly that I didn't know what was happening, but I kept running franticly. Celeste and I were aimless in how to reach Silas, and I cursed myself for being so weak and unable to protect my mate.
I howled in agony as I shifted back into human form, feeling tired as I collapsed to the cold earth staring at the night skyline, which was darker than usual. Or maybe it was my grief showing my future was as dark as that night.
"I hate you, Silas. You dare to show me the hope to live and show me that Love exists, and you fucking left me behind." I growled as the fresh hot tears rolled down my eyes.
"Celeste, please connect to Ray and tell me this all is a lie," I begged as the cold wind brushed against my naked frame.
"I can't feel Ray's connection, Elena. I am sorry. Our Mate is___”
"No, don't complete the sentences. Silas can't die and leave me like this." I growled. I turn to look at Yuri's brown wolf; Mac's light brown wolf stares at me in grief, and Drake comes to a halt, giving a sympathetic look. Yuri and Mac shifted back.
"Elena", Yuri hugged me, sobbing, and I felt my tears run hot and fast.
"He is not dead, Yuri. He can't leave me," I whispered in grief. I felt so weak, and I could barely see anything around me. I hate myself for not being able to shift before the hurdles that stopped me.
"El, don't be hard on yourself. You are always strong enough to stand against everything. I am happy to be your mate, and I thank you for choosing and loving me." I definitely hear Silas' faint voice, or maybe I'm hallucinating as I lose my senses.

Yuri - POV
I have no words for how much grief was swirling within me as my wolf learned our Alpha was no more. I couldn't stand on my two legs. Still, when I heard an agonizing cry from Elena's wolf, it was a surprise, and I could sense intense wolf-like energy that spread throughout the Land, informing me about the sad news that Elena's wolf energy had become more like that of an Alpha than of Luna. I felt the agony too intense to breathe, so I rushed toward Elena's energy. The pack members stepped out of their homes and looked at the grief in their eyes as they stared at the moon. I met Mac, who gave me an air of grief as we both sprinted towards the howling direction and came to a halt to see Emily's frame, and Drake told me what had happened. Mac linked the Pack doctor, and they took Emily to the infirmary for healing. We three all sprinted towards the woods after Elena.
My heart broke when I saw Elena, who was crying and had a pale face. Drake covered Elena's naked frame with his jacket as he carried her back to the Mansion. I hate Drake touching our Luna. As I knew, his feeling for Elena was more robust, but right now, I couldn't sense any lewd air from him towards Elena, but he looked at Elena as a friend, or maybe he was acting well so he could win over Elena. I won't let that happen.
The Pack doctors look after Elena's health, informing her it was the first shift toll on her body and the grief made her weak. She is fully healthy. I had relief spread through me hearing the news from doctors.
"How about Emily, doctor?"
"She is recovering from the wounds. Soon she will be out of danger." I nodded as I escorted the doctor to the door. I walked back to Elena's room as Drake sat next to her with a concerned gleam.
Before I ask Drake to leave, I sense the elders' scent coming close to the Mansion. I knew they were enemies of the Pack, and Elena was not in her senses to speak, and I am sure they wanted to take Elena out, too.
"Drake, I need your help," I whispered. He could feel the danger as he picked up the scent as well. He nodded, and we stalked down to the hallway. The elder came with a grieved look, but I saw Emma, and Henry seemed relieved. I pretended not to notice the reaction and saw from the corner of my eye that Drake didn't miss the response to those vicious reactions between them.
"What happened to Alpha?" Emma asked. Drake narrated what happened and what Silas's last wish was.
"It must be hard on Luna. How is she?" Henry asked with fake sincerity.
"Coping up," I muttered.
"I know this is not a situation to bring this up. But we need to decide who will be the next Alpha, and we can't fulfill Alpha Silas' last wish to make Elena the Alpha. It's not possible," Emma added cautiously. A fury ignites in my body.
"Who are you to decide?" A sharp voice came from behind us as I turned to see Elena's eyes look cold, and the aura was fucking scary, going to remind me of Alpha Silas's presence for a second.
"Luna, I didn't mean wrong. We want the Pack not to fall in an attack by rogues as they must have to be learned by now Alpha's demise." Henry added with extra caution.
"I am not Luna anymore. My mate asked me to look after the Pack that makes me the Alpha, and if you question my authority, I will kill you on the spot without thinking twice." I could feel a shiver at the threat, knowing that Elena could kill anyone. I saw in the corner of my eyes that Henry, Emma, and others took the threat lightly, thinking of her. Those foolish people are going dead.
"I don't think you can ___." Henry gasped in shock, and Emma screamed, seeing Henry's throat ripped out and in Elena's hand. "I told you not to mess with me. Yuri put Emma and another elder in dungeons for mocking my authority and disrespecting Silas's wishes." A crisp voice.
"Yes, Alpha." I bowed my head as her she-wolf pushed me down, and I willingly respected Elena and took her as my new Alpha, who Alpha Silas trusted with such power.
