Met Gala begins

Elena - POV

After Letty talked my ear off, the more she rambled on and on about Silas, the more my fury grew. Yuri invited me to meet her after I had chosen my Met Gala gown.

"Ms. Hayes apologizes for keeping you waiting." The manager stated. "Welcome to the Vannel dress line."

"It's OK. Can you contact Selena on my behalf? She had the outfit ready for me." the manager nodded. A few minutes later, Selena, the Vannel's owner and chief designer, walked in, looking sharp as ever.

"How are you, darling?" Selena remarked as she hugged me.

"You know the Drama, Selena," she giggled at me. I smirked.

"So I have several lovely gowns for you." Selena led the way to the two stunning dresses, one of which was a black top with no straps and red ruffles below it, giving the dress an eye-catching appearance. The other had a heart-shaped neckline and open slits in a green fabric. It also had floral patterns and crystal embellishments.

"You put in so much effort, Selena, to create this beauty here." I looked in awe.

"It means a lot that you appreciate my efforts. I was terrified you wouldn't like it."

"You are seriously selling your selling short; I have no words to express how beautiful the creation you have created," I said, and Selena smiled with relief.

"Which beauty would you choose?" Selena inquired. I stood there thinking so hard because I couldn't bear the thought of turning down such a lovely gown, so I took both of them. But, I still couldn't decide which outfit to wear for the evening.

In the meantime, Selena would deliver the ensemble to my hotel suite, and I would stroll out to meet Yuri, who appeared to be in such a miserable mood. "Yuri, what do you want to talk about?"

"Do you care about our Alpha... er, Silas?" Yuri inquired, her lips pursed in concern.

"Why does it matter? He'd already had other women and couldn't wait to perform some ceremony for rejecting me.... as his fate.....mate." Yuri stared at me with a sorrowful expression on her face.

"I apologize for bringing up Alpha here, but I want you to be cautious from now on, Elena," Yuri said mournfully, and I could see her shaking. "The danger has just begun."

"I apologize for bringing up Alpha here, but I want you to be cautious from now on, Elena," Yuri said mournfully, and I could see her shaking. "The danger has just begun."

"I can't. My hands are tied, Elena, and I am being watched," Yuri said as he walked away with a sad expression. I merely stared at her, adding to my concern. I dashed to my room after speaking with Yuri, leaving me even more terrified.

I entered the room, trying to regain my breath and contemplating Yuri's comments. I grabbed my phone to see if there was a missed call from the cop looking for Lyra's missing case. However, when I called back, he didn't answer the call.

"Ms. Hayes, we need to get you ready for the evening Gala," Janice stated as she entered my room and hesitated, staring at my face.

"Yes, I am perplexed about the dress," I admitted, quickly regaining my composure.

"The green one will look lovely on you. Fearless and alluring," Janice stated. I grin at her and decide its time to show Silas he can't play with me.

"You're right. Envy of green will be my gown tonight," I whispered, raising an eyebrow at Janice. Janice dialed the number for the make-up artist and hairstylist. After putting in an hour's worth of effort to get dressed, I looked in the mirror, and Janice and the rest of the crew praised me. I thanked the artist for their work in making me look perfect tonight.

Drake - POV

To get the appearance of royalty, I wear a black tuxedo with a cape that matches it. Although Elena is stunning no matter what she wears, I was excited to glimpse her tonight after hearing Janice tell the artist how stunning Elena looked.

"I'm waiting to see our bride-to-be," Fin, my dragon, said with excitement.

"Fin, calm down."

"You'd better win Elena's heart and make her ours." Fin expressed his dissatisfaction.

I couldn't respond to my dragon because I froze, watching Elena look so fucking stunning that any words of appreciation would be insignificant in comparison. I'd want to be close to Elena so I could woo her and make her mine, all to myself, and eliminate Silas from my way.

"What do you think, Drake?" Elena remarked in a friendly tone, which I wouldn't say I liked, since I don't want to be her friendzone, but her lover.

"There are no words to describe how lovely you are, Elena." Elena blushed, and Damn, she knew how to sway my heart with her smile.

"I am the fortunate man to be next tonight." My words were sincere. I am currently standing next to her, and I am now holding her hand tonight.

"I am overjoyed, Drake," She said casually.

The cameras flashed in our direction as we struck a posture and greeted the audience. Elena had so many supporters that security couldn't handle all the fans who wanted to see Elena. Elena appeared composed and unfazed as she greeted her fans.

I could feel Silas' energy around me, so that asshole was also at the Met Gala and planned to ruin the night I could have with Elena alone without Silas drawing Elena's attention away from me.

Elena and I walked into the ballroom. People stared at us as if we were showstoppers, and I could feel Silas seething and envious eyes on us. I smirked at him. I could see Silas had a red woman clinging to his arm, and Elena didn't even spare a glance their way, which surprised me.

"Drake, Let me introduce you to a well-known director and producer with whom you can create a network," Elena said as she took me by the hand. I wish I could tell Elena I am a successful entrepreneur rather than a struggling actor. I came to audition to be an actor so that I might be near you, Elena.
