Sidestory -Part Three

Elena - POV

Silas and I stood next to the cribs, staring at her little boys, who were sound asleep after a lot of fuss. We both tiptoed our way out of the room without waking up our babies. Silas held my hand and walked me to the kitchen. I looked at him, confused.

“Why are we going to the kitchen?” I asked. “I need to shut my eyes,” I muttered through my tired gaze.

“Not an empty stomach, El; you ate nothing at dinner.”

“But the chefs are off duty, so who will cook? I am too lazy to cook something.” I muttered. Silas smirked at me.

“What?” I asked, staring at his smirk.

“I will cook for you. El.” Silas made me sit on the small chair, and he went to the kitchen counter and put an apron on his shirtless frame. His muscular shoulder made me drool as Silas looked through the fridge, and I stared at him, feeling the heat ignite in the pit of my stomach, as Silas’s ocean-blue eyes stared at me. Don’t tell me he picked up on my arousal.

“Do you want scrambled eggs or a chicken sandwich?” He asked. I sighed inwardly, relieved that he didn’t pick up on my arousal.

“A chicken sandwich,” I answered. Silas pulled some cold cuts of chicken, mayo, and sandwich bread and heated the pan to sear the chicken. Seeing Silas care for me melts my heart. This man always makes me fall in love with him all over again.

“Thank you,” I whispered, taking a bite of the sandwich, and his eyes looked at me with satisfaction.

“Aren’t you eating?” I asked, devouring the sandwich, unladylike.

“I am full seeing you eat, El.” He purred. He walked close to me and sat next to me. Silas fed me the fruit cuts, and I munched on everything.

“Silas, I want to tell you something.” Silas’s eyes stared at me with alertness as my voice had an urgent tone.

“I noticed a weird thread connecting Yuri, which was laced with black threads, making it hard for Yuri and her wolf to find her mate.” Silas looked at me, surprised.

“When did you learn this?” Silas asked.

“On our wedding reception,”

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I could have asked Abi, of the witch clan, to look into it... Wait, I assume you didn’t tell Yuri.” Silas asked, and I nodded my head, confirming his assumption.

“You and my mother must be working behind my back to find the reasons,” Silas added with a fake gloomy tone. “I wanted to get included, too.” I caressed his cheeks with my left hand.

“Sorry, but you were busy with Pack matters,” I argued.

“I can still remove time to help you both find the cause. I suggest you tell Yuri about it.” Silas washed the dishes as I washed my hands and thought.

“Also, Mac Wolf is attracted to Yuri's," I added. Silas’ eyes snapped at me.

“How many secrets have you kept from me, El?” Silas looked gloomy, and I gave him a guilty smile.

“I think Mac could be Yuri’s mate. What do you think?” I asked.

“Don’t ask me; you left me out of so many important topics,” Silas added, and I pressed my lips against him to cheer him up. He pulled me close to his frame. He moaned as I trailed my fingers through his toned abs.

“El, don’t be teased.” He hissed and smiled as he held my frame and made me sit on the kitchen platform. His lips trailed my collarbone, and a crying voice erupted over our passionate kisses.

“It’s my time to put them back to sleep,” Silas added with a smile as they kissed me on the forehead. “Take rest, El.” He kissed me before leaving our kids’ room. I sighed in disappointment because I was still recovering from my pregnancy and couldn't engage in a sexual act. I walked up to the room and lay down on the soft bed, and exhaustion took over me.

Silas - POV

Watching my kids go back to sleep, I tucked them in their cribs and walked to see my tired wife sleeping peacefully. I caressed her cheeks, and she sighed in relief.

"Silas, we'll both tell Yuri about the thread curse," El mumbled in her sleep. “I am worried Yuri will be angry at me; how about you speak to her, Silas, please?”

“I speak well with Yuri, love.” I kissed her forehead. I walked to my office as I still had so many documents to sign, though Yuri was taking care of my work as I was on paternity leave.

“Alpha, you came.” Yuri and Mac both had droopy eyes on their faces. Mac was also assisting Yuri.

“Please sign these documents,” Mac said with a tired voice.

“Yuri and Mac, I need to speak with you both.” They both looked at me with puzzled gazes.
