Elena—POV
Seeing the hallway scene, the blood trailed to Mr. Ford’s door. I went into alert mode. Could it be Mr. Ford in danger? I took my cell phone in my hand if Mr. Ford needed medical help. Before I knocked on the door, it opened to see Mr. Ford’s bare bulged chest and his shorts hung low. His gaze held a warmth as it stared at me. I gulped at the intensity of his appearance.
“Come in, Elena,” he said in a deep voice that made my hormones go crazy. I stepped in to see his luxurious apartment. Mr. Ford looked at me with hunger as I looked back at him. I averted my gaze to breathe what I didn’t know had been holding in until now.
“What brings you here?” he asked, walking towards and standing too close.
“Are you okay?” I finally tried to get the question out. “I saw the blood and furs in the hallway.” His eyes dilated for a second as I looked at him.
“Did you hear anything?” he questioned.
“Of course I did! The animal growls are difficult to miss” My remark made his jaw clench in a grimacing line. “I don’t understand where this wild animal comes from. Isn’t it weird? How did the guards below the building not do something? Why do the blood trails end at your door?” I paused, my curiosity babbling. His ocean-blue eyes changed to a lighter hue as I paid close attention.
“Elena, I think you….” He groaned in pain as he staggered back, and after a few seconds, his eyes changed to a golden color.
“Mate….” His hoarse animalistic voice scared the shit out of me, moved away from him as he came close to me. I came to a halt by the wall against my back.
“What… the hell is wrong with you..” My speech cut off as his large index fingers came to my lips. My heart raced as his hot breath came close to my neck.
“Human Mate, you are a peculiar one” Mr. Ford’s hoarse voice made me shudder with delicious delight as his one touch of his finger had so much effect on me.
“Mr. Ford…. you are scaring me”. It was a lie. I felt the opposite. His eyes kept staring at me, and his closeness made me weak in my legs. But somehow, I muster to stand against such intensity.
“Don’t lie to me, El. You like my touch” Mr. Ford’s hands slowly traced the back of my hand. His eyes went to my bosom, which was merely covered. It made the visible erection of my nipples made Mr. Ford smirk. Heat infused my cheeks, but dammit, it was hard to suppress my blush.
“You want me to stop, El?” His hoarse voice asked. I wanted to say yes and pull away from him, but his touch captivated me. I wanted more of his touch on my body, making my libido wild. It also put me in a safe space where I felt like paradise.
“No, Elena, don’t fall for this shit again” My inner voice pulled me out of this haze, and I pulled my hand away from his touch. His eyes looked at me with a flicker of sadness. Did I see the emotion right, or was that my imagination?
“I need you to step away from me,” I said sternly. Mr. Ford’s golden eyes stared at me for a few seconds, and he stepped away.
“Tell me the truth? Are you human? How can your eye color change?” I inquired. Mr. Ford smirked at my question.
“El, you don’t want to know who I am. It may scare you” He turned his back on me and went to the bar shelf to pour himself a drink.
“Try me, Mr. Ford; I can keep a secret.” I walked towards him, staring into his eyes and showing Mr.Ford that he didn’t scare me. He sipped from the whiskey glass, eyes scanning me from head to toe. I tried to stand firm under his gaze.
“El, go, or else I can’t stop myself and mark you,” he said, struggling with some emotion I couldn’t comprehend.
“Mr. Ford… Tell me”
“Elena. shut up and leave”. His animalistic roar made me cringe, and I staggered two steps back. The room felt as if it had sucked the air out of it. A sharp pain rose in my head. The vision blurred. As Mr. Ford gently placed my head against his rock-hard chest, a warm hand came to my waist.
“Sorry, Elena” His faint voice reached me before the darkness pulled me.

Silas—POV
Yuri stepped out of the bedroom with blood coated as she killed a rogue trying to get into Elena's apartment. “Did you put Elena in her bed?” I nodded my head at her question. It pissed me at my wolf Ray, who took control of me and was about to reveal our true identity.
“Is she alright?” Yuri asked with a concerned frown.
“Of course she is. Elena passed out because Ray almost tried to mark her,” I spoke, explaining, though Yuri knew. My magic made her faint, and I had to use magic to get the command back on Ray.
“Her human frame can't stand magic. It's strange; humans can stand the magic”, Yuri muttered, but paused, looking at the bedroom where the Caracas of the Rogue Wolf was lying in the pool of blood.
“Discard the body and make sure you don't leave any trace in the hallway.” Yuri nodded her head and my command.
“So you will act as if tonight's episode never happened?” Yuri asked. I sighed at her remark. She knew my answer well. If Elena asks me about tonight's incident, I will have to act like she just had a dream. Yuri left, taking out the frame wrapped in magic that turned the carcass into dust and removed the trace of blood and fur from the spell.
I peered at the document, seated on the desk with the keychain beside it. I traced the engraved, which reminded me of Elena's hazel-brown that gawked at me, her smiling face and curious expression.
“Alpha, can you make me a bodyguard for Elena, so I can protect her if you are not around,” implores the tone in Yuri's remark, jolting me out of the reprieved images of Elena. Yuri stared at me in question.
“No need, Yuri; who will look after the pack in my absence?” Yuri gave me a disapproving growl.
“What about the meeting with Alpha Theo? You won't be next to Elena?” Did Yuri ask, tapping her and raising her eyebrows elevated at me? I noticed Yuri had taken a liking to Elena. Until I don't permit Yuri, she will keep making excuses to accept her request.
“I will call Alpha Theo to reschedule.” She rolled her eyes. I knew Yuri was growing too frustrated, as her tricks could not make me agree to the idea. Yuri stormed out of my mansion, fuming, slamming the door shut. I sighed to look in askance.
“Ray, you dare to take over me,” I growled.
“I did the right thing. You are a wuss; that human needs to be mated. We require an heir,” Ray snapped at me.
“Ray, I warn you, don't cross the line,” seethed Ray, who snorted at my statement.
“Or what? You can't do anything without me” Smugness dripped into his remark. I felt pissed at his attitude.
" Are you forgetting Ray? My bloodline holds a sliver line of magic” My statement made Ray growl at me. Was it my time to be smug? Even if my wolf doesn't support me, I have extra abilities to survive.
“Mix blood, scoundrel,” Ray grumbled.
“Go away, asshole, not in a mood to chat,” I growled as Ray blocked me, so we didn't communicate. The question was how to be around Elena, as she had declined my offer. I have a trick on my sleeve. I smirked at the idea that Elena couldn't refuse, but had to accept me as a half-partner in business.
