Forest
Elena - POV
Yuri drove me to the movie set after dinner, as Cindy wanted to do a late-night scene recording. My mind was in chaos after the discussion with Dr. Rudolf. I asked him if the cause of my deteriorating health was recovery, but it got worse, my internal organs going weak daily, and by the end of the week, I would have to be admitted to the hospital. I inquired Dr. Rudolf if the blood test shows I could be a late shifter or not to reassure Emily’s words. Dr. Rudolf declined. I am not a shifter but a human, making my mood more sullen. I had to wrap up the shooting and leave Janice to handle the work for me for a few days.
I rushed, getting ready for a solo scene. Drake is not on the movie set because of his work. It felt a little relief because, after discovering Drake’s feelings for me, it made it awkward for me to be around him.
Yuri sat with the crew members as she enjoyed seeing the recording of one of my scenes of running to the forest and had some action scenes. Following, I had to fight some thugs as I played a lonely she-wolf.
I came to a skidding halt. When I couldn’t see the cameraman, the extra crew, running behind me. A thick mist surrounds me.
“Kale, Kate, Lola, where are you guys? This scene was not supposed to add mist, right? Hello….” I called, but no answer came back. I screamed again as I walked into the wilderness. My voice echoed in the forest. I could sense some magic power surrounding me.
“Child,” a woman’s voice echoed. I looked around, but no one was to be seen. My heart pounded as I ran away from the weird whispers.
“We won’t harm you, child. We are going to help you.” The voice whispered through the wind.
“What do you mean?” I gasped when I saw a forest mist disappear and a small old-looking shrine emerged from the ground.
“What the hell” I whispered as I tentatively walked towards it. I didn’t know why I was braving up like a stupid woman, but I felt the pull towards this shrine. I could sense warmth, unlike a threatening atmosphere within me.
I stopped before I could enter the shrine. A menacing growl pierces the room, and I see a pack wolf growling at me, surrounded, and the shrine disappears into thin air.
“Okay, I am not here to harm you, but I am lost,” I whispered, knowing they could hear me well. Their canines intensify as I speak. They were in a pack and didn’t look at the wild rogue wolves I saw last time.
“Back off,” Yuri growled, coming next to me. I think they spoke something through telepathy and an enormous brown wolf that reminded me of Silas’ wolf because of the massive size of his wolf. The brown wolf shifts back as I hear bones snapping, making me cringe. After the transformation, a tall man stood in his naked, dusky sheen. His fingers combed the disheveled brown hair strand back. I try to only focus on his face and not stare at his chiseled abs or dick. Damn, these shifters are mostly handsome hunks, for sure.
“You say she, Silas, mate?” His deep voice asked a question to Yuri. Who held a stiff composure?
“Yes, Alpha Theo, I suggest you don’t harm her if you don’t want to tick off Alpha Silas.”
“Watch your mouth, Beta Yuri.” Another wolf shifted back and hissed. Theo raised his hand to stop the other guy from speaking further.
“Are you threatening me, Yuri?” Theo asked, with a coy smirk marring his face.
“I am warning you, Alpha Theo,” Yuri said calmly.
“You dare to warn us when this woman stepped into our territory?” The other wolf hissed again; Theo glared at the wolf.
“Shut up, Luke, I am talking.” Theo snapped.
“I am sorry. I didn’t step into your territory. We were shooting at a nearby location, and I got lost in a forest, as my crew didn’t know how to disappear. The mist in the forest and shrine emerged….,” I paused, sensing the gaze on me. I saw three eyes staring at me surprised.
“What! I am telling the truth, okay? I am not lying.” I answered.
“We apologize once again, Alpha Theo, but we have to leave,” Yuri said, holding my hand and urging me to walk away from this place.
“If she’s Luna, why can’t I sense her wolf? She has a human. How can a human be the mate of an Alpha?” Theo asked, making Yuri and me halt our steps.
“Alpha Theo, I suggest you mind your business, and this woman here is Alpha Silas’s mate. I am here to protect our Luna,” Yuri said, threatening this time. I could feel the tension back in the air.
“You bitch dare to raise our Alpha,” Luke growled.
“If Alpha Theo dares to harm our Luna, I will go to any lengths,” Yuri growled.
“Enough, Luke; I won’t ask for more. I will come to Silver canniness pack to congratulate Alpha Silas for finding his second mate,” Theo said with a smile, but why do I sense the air of dark? Maybe I am paranoid about the feeling, as I am going through an emotional rollercoaster ride.
“Congratulations to Ms. Elena Hayes,” Theo said.
“You know my name?” I asked in surprise.
“Of course, who wouldn’t know about you? You are a Hollywood golden actress, after all.” Theo said with a charming smile. I wanted to add that he shouldn’t congratulate me, as I am still not Silas’s mate. I thought about shutting my mouth in the current situation.
“Let us go, Elena,” Yuri said. I could feel the eyes on my back after leaving a reasonable distance.
“Yuri, how did you find me? I am so confused about what happened?” I asked Yuri, an expression marred with concern.
“The mist was the sleeping spell for humans. I found all the crew passed out one by one, and it was strange how it didn’t affect you. Also, what did the shrine look like?” Yuri asked.
I saw a wolf rushing towards me at full speed; I gasped.
