Mine

“I’ll rephrase. I need you to play the role of my boyfriend,” Elena replied, stuttering over her words.

“What are you planning?” I could tell something was going on, and the thrill and surge of energy I felt coming from Elena reinforced my suspicions.

“I was going to take my fake actor out on a date and pretend he was my boyfriend to get back at my ex-fiance, to be honest with you.” With a devilish grin, Elena said, “I have called for the paparazzi and media to air this news.” Her confidence and poise inspired pride in me.

“I’m your boyfriend,” I said; she grinned.

Every fiber of my being wanted to claim her as my mate and only be mine forever, but another part of me wanted to push every surge to remain unaffected by our mate link.

“Thank you, Silas, for assisting me; I mean, you are always my knight in shining armor,” she giggled at her comments.

“I want to save you from everything,” I continued.

“including myself.” I internally muttered.

Elena stared at me with her eyebrows arched in a questioning manner. The paparazzi rushed over to us as soon as the vehicle stopped in front of the restaurant, preventing her from inquiring about the significance of the words I had just spoken.

“Are you prepared to go?” I inquired of Elena. She nods, and I get out of the car, opening the door for her and making room for Elena as the paparazzi take pictures of us. I held Elena’s hourglass waist while she gazed lovingly into my eyes.

“Was there a rumor, Ms. Hayes, are you back with your fiance Jake Smith?” asked the reporter.

“It’s only a rumor. To me, an unfaithful man is not someone to be with. I’ve moved on,” Elena replied. Elena’s small palm wrapped around my arm, signaling me to leave before the reporters asked more questions about her statement.

I had reserved the entire VIP lounge, so the attendant led us to the vacant restaurant. Nobody was there to bother Elena with her irreverent inquiries, pose for pictures, or ask for autographs. I made sure that this date went off without a hitch.

“Wow, you reserved the entire place?” Elena inquired, surprised.

“You deserve some peace, Elena.” As I drew a chair for Elena to sit on, she peered at me, trying to conceal her expression of surprise. The attendant poured the drink and brought the appetizers.

Again and over, Elena received phone calls from Jake. She gave a mocking chuckle before hanging up on Jake, and I looked across to see Elena smiling with satisfaction.

“I admire you standing up for yourself,” I said, and she looked at me, taken aback by the compliment, as she had never imagined me saying such a thing.

“Long ago, I learned to speak out for myself.” Elena gave me a small smile tinged with sadness.

“It must be tough to confront everything alone and survive alone against all circumstances with no support,” I murmured, recalling my orphanage hardships.

“You speak from experience?” Elena inquired.

“You are not alone,” I told her, “because I am also an orphan.”

“Oh! Then, we have a fair share of experience of what is like to be alone.” I nodded in agreement as we clinked our glasses together and took small sips of the warm alcohol liquid to help ease the anguish and struggle we felt as orphans.

“What do you intend to do after the shoot?” I inquired, changing the subject.

“I’m not sure. I’d go on vacation,” Elena explained. Her facial expression became more anxious. I wondered about what was going on in her mind, which made me even more concerned.

“Are you dating anyone? Come on in and tell me about yourself. To me, you are an enigma.”

Elena inquired, her face flushed. I debated with myself whether I should confide in her about Maya. I resisted because I intended to reject her once the filming was over and Jake was out of her hair. In addition, I confronted and interrogated Alpha Theo of the Blood pack and Luke, the Beta. Still, they claimed to be business partners, and Luke denied knowing anything about Jake’s activity with supernaturals.

“All right, say nothing. I will not push you to relax. Silas,” Elena spoke, breaking me out of my stupor. Elena had too much to drink during our silent meal since her face was flushed. I stopped her from drinking anymore.

“Silas, I’m having a great day today.” She hiccuped and gave me a grin. “That bastard Jake must have felt humiliated as he did to me,” Elena laughed. A grin spread across my face as I looked at her.

“We must return to our hotel room. You are pretty drunk,” I sighed.

“Hey, Silas, don’t put a damper on things.” Elena hissed, “I need to celebrate,” but I snatched the vodka away from her before she could add more.

Elena said, “Let me drink, please,” as I lifted her frail body from the chair and led her to walk out of the restaurant.

“You’ve had your fill of alcohol, Elena. You have a shoot in the morning, so you’ll need to get up early.” I tried to reason with her.

“Won’t you just refrain from using Janice’s manner of speech?” Elena snarled at me. The paparazzi and the journalists were still waiting at the entrance to the restaurant. They will ruin Elena’s reputation if they stumble about like this in front of the car right behind them. Therefore, I led her to the hotel’s rear exit.

“Elena, come...” despite being momentarily startled by Elena’s tender lips brushing against mine, I returned her kiss and savored the taste of her. I could taste the booze on Elena’s mouth, but it was intoxicating as I kissed her soft lips, and she groaned as I buried my hands in the back of her neck to intensify the kiss.

Hunger I felt as I probed Elena’s lips. Goddamn, I could hardly keep my hands off of her because of the way she smelled. A bright light flashed in front of my eyes, and I scowled at the photographer, who shook in fear at the sight and fell over the garbage can as they tried to get out of the way. I could have stopped the paparazzi and asked him to delete the photo he had taken, but I didn’t because I wanted Jake to know Elena was mine.

“Silas,” Elena said in a low voice as her lusty eyes glanced directly at me. Elena bit her lips as her hands rested on my chest.

“Let us finish what we started,” she slurred. Elena leaned in close but stopped as she vomited on my shoes as she passed out. I held the frame while the cab driver pulled up, and then I helped her into the back seat while I sat next to her.

Jake's scent was coming from Elena's suite, so I hesitated as I approached the hotel suite. I escorted Elena to my room. I helped her skeleton onto my bed, took off her shoes and clothes after she threw up, and tucked her in with a cozy blanket. First changed into a new outfit and cast a protective spell around Elena.

The door to Elena’s room was unlocked, and I walked in. “Where is Elena?” Jake said furiously.

“It’s none of your business to know about Elena.” Did you hear she kicked your sorry ass to the curb?” Jake’s hands immediately curled into a fist in response to my sneer.

“She is mine even if she acts to be strong, but she still cares for me,” Jake snarled.

“Are you still living under the misconception that Elena has feelings for you?” Jake’s cheeks became crimson with wrath. Jake took a few deep breaths, and his rage dissipated.

“How come you’re here?” Jake inquired.

“I should ask you the same question. How dare you enter Elena’s room without her knowledge!” I hissed. Jake sat quietly on the couch, gazing out the window.

“Jake, answer me,” I screamed. He looked in my direction, heaved a sigh, and then smirked in his typically nefarious manner.

“I know you want to hear the truth about me, Alpha. I can see it in your eyes; you’re going to murder me if I don’t speak out.” This statement by Jake shows he is familiar with wolf shifters and has access to further information on the supernatural.

Holding Jake by the collar, I scowled at him as his face contorted in fear. “So you know about me, huh? What is the source of your knowledge of such private information? What do you want from Elena?” I growled.

“I won’t be able to provide you with any information. I obey commands. Alpha, I am a pawn. I am just a mere warlock,” Jake said as I choked his neck in a squeaky voice.

“Motherfucker, say out, or I will murder you in excruciating pain,” I snarled, grasping his neck as he strained to get free. I could sense a shift in the power level in the room as Jake attempted to use his magic to push me away from him. It wasn’t effective against me because I have no vulnerability to magic.

“What the fuck.... My magic,” Jake hissed.

“You should have known about me that magic never wounded me,” I knocked Jake unconscious. To my good fortune, Mac was nearby, so I mind-linked with him to convince him to take Jake to Wolf land. I sat in the room, staring at Jake’s unconscious body on the floor. After getting information from him, I wanted to end this motherfucker as soon as possible.

I searched his pockets for the locket and the phone. “Alpha, did you murder Jake?” Mac came to a halt when he realized Jake was only unconscious.

“Take him and throw him in dungeons, and don’t tell the elder about it.” Give Yuri the phone to unlock and find out more about this locket, and also contact a witch to tell us what she knows about it.” I elaborated. Mac gave me a brief look.

“Alpha, should you abduct Jake? This guy is well-known, and his disappearance could cause us problems.”

“Don’t worry about Jake; I’ll handle the situation. Mac, make sure you torture this motherfucker,” I said. Mac nodded with a smile. I could sense his eagerness to torture this jerk.

“You made my day, Alpha; I will call you as soon as I get the information out of him,” Mac said as he put Jake in the cover bag and took his Jake away with no one seeing him, and I blocked the camera footage with my magic.

I made sure that the room services organized things in Elena’s room. As I approached my room, the sun rose above the cityscape. Elena’s serene resting form drew my attention. I sat beside her and put her hair strand behind her ear.

“I will keep you safe, Elena. I will not leave you alone anymore,” I whispered.

“Have you come to terms with Elena being our life partner?” Ray inquired.

“I can’t deny this mate link. Ray, I have tried all in my power to stifle my feelings for Elena, but I can’t do it anymore. What the elder pack says doesn’t matter to me. Elena is all mine.” Ray squeals with delight at my words.
