Chapter 13

The sunlight was leaking through the small crack of the window visible through the dark curtains in Tommy's room, and was hitting me directly in the eye. I smiled though because that had been the first time in weeks that I didn't wake up screaming from a nightmare. I had slept through the night and it was peaceful! It was amazing so I'm fine being blinded by the sunlight at this moment. In fact I want to pull the curtains all the way open and fill the whole room with beautiful sunlight! I feel happy right now, excited for the day even! I feel light and carefree strangely, except for one thing. Something is holding me back and I looked down at my waist to find a strong muscular arm holding me tightly.

Oh my goddess! Tommy?! I slept with Tommy last night! Not slept with him but like actually slept...with him. Also, wow! He is really handsome. His hair is slightly disheveled but he looks more handsome like this. His long eyelashes flutter across the top of his cheek and he looks adorable with slightly pouted lips. I wonder what he is dreaming about to make him pout like that. I know I should break from his hold, but I just want to watch him sleep a little longer. He looks so cute that I want to squish him, which I build up the courage and actually do.

I bring both my hands to his face and squish his face together slightly causing him to grown in protest. I can not help the laugh that leaves my mouth as he struggles against my hold on his face.

"What is this?" He barely is able to mumble with my hold on him.

"I'm sorry but I had to." I say laughing and releasing him.

I felt happy today and I couldn't resist laughing heartily. He groans again and hides his face in.my neck and I lower my laugh to a giggle as he tickles my neck with his breaths.

"Five more minutes." He grumbles.

"But pancakes!" I whine.

"Please, a little longer." He begs.

I smile as he tightens his hold on me, I could get used to this. Against my better judgement I wrap my arms around his neck and lean in close to him and sigh. We stay like this for several minutes until there is a knock at the door.

"Breakfast is ready you two!" Elizabeth yells through the door.

Tommy groans again but with more frustration and starts to loosen his hold on me, but this time I object.

"Five more minutes." I say into his neck.

He laughs and squeezes me tighter. This had been our first night together and I was already addicted to having him here with me.

Finally I let him go and he let me go slightly but kept his arms loosely around me and looked me in the eyes.

"Good morning beautiful!" He says with a smile.

I giggle and try to hide my face but before I can turn away he leans in and kisses me. TOMMY IS KISSING ME! OH MY GOD MORNING BREATH!!!! I hadn't even brushed my teeth yet! Why is he kissing me right now? Wait, wow he is a really good kisser!

I feel myself getting lost in the kiss and letting him kiss me harder without pulling away. Once we both are out of breath he pulls away and we just lay there looking at each other in surprise. That was my first real kiss and it was amazing! Yeah I kissed my neighbor friend once but we were like 14, so I don't count that. This was a real kiss, with a amazingly stunning werewolf man! The best part, he was my mate which meant I could kiss him again. So I do! I have no idea where this boldness is coming from but the urge to feel out lips touching is too strong to resist.

He is surprised at first but quickly returns the kiss and runs his hand over my back softly. His touch starts to make me shiver and the sensation takes me by surprise. It's like little shocks are coming from his fingers. What is that?

'It is the mate bond' Leah says breaking through.

'Leah? what?' I ask.

'I had shut our connection off that is why you could not feel the mate bond until now. I am so sorry.' She says sadly.

'No it's ok, I understand. You were trying to protect me.' I reply even though I am a little frustrated with her.

'I was trying to protect you, but I see now I was also hurting you. It was wrong of me. I will not lock myself away any longer. You have a mate and a pack who can protect you.' She says with a tone of relief.

'If I decide to join the pack.' I say.

'The pack will help you Maya, you deserve to have someone looking out for you! Please let them.' She says.

She goes silent and I think she has left me again, but she hasn't, not this time.

'I won't leave you again Maya! I swear!' She says firmly.

'Thank you!' I say feeling myself wanting to cry.

My wolf was back!

I look to Tommy who is giving me a concerned stare.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"We were kissing but then you spaced out. Are you ok?" He asks.

"Oh! Sorry! My wolf started talking to me. We haven't spoken much that it takes a lot of my focus to reply to her." I explain.

"Your wolf is talking to you?" He asks relaxing.

I nod happily and kiss him quickly before crawling out of the bed and heading toward the bathroom.

Things were changing for me and right now I felt hopeful. I felt like there was a chance I could be happy again, with Tommy and with my new family. Leah was right, I should join the pack and let myself have help. I freshened up and let down my hair brushing through my hair to at least to try to look a little cute since I didn't bring any make up with me. I dressed in my clothes from last night and took the clothes Tommy had given me out to return, but was surprised when I returned into the room. A half naked Tommy changing!
