Chapter 68
(Tommy POV)
“How are we going to make this up to Maya? We really screwed up!” Eli asks me.
He was right, we really did screw up. This was supposed to be an important talk for us to find a way to live with the three of us sharing a mate in a way that would be peaceful. Yet, Eli and I fell into the old habit of bickering over something incredibly stupid. We have been like this for a long time, bickering and fighting with no real anger behind it. This, however, was not the time for that kind of thing and it was clear that Maya was not happy. Even when she was clearly upset, I found myself get jealous that she chose Noah to be with her. I guess my jealousy in that moment was high, and I am not proud of it. There were a ton of excuses I could think of to explain away my actions, but she was right.
She had the right to choose who she wants to spend her time with. Noah seemed to quickly become ethe one she runs to when she wants to feel calm, and I admit I felt a little saddened that she had not seemed to have that kind of bond with me. I wanted to find that special thing that only the two of us would share but I was too busy in my own mind and world to even make the time. I had been extremely stupid. After everything we did to get her back, and I was wasting more time! So how would we make this up to her? I remembered my father had given me the number again to call to try and contact the Fae. Maybe if I could have someone visit us and help her with her powers, she would forgive me.
“I know! I’ll call the Fae!” I tell Eli standing and pulling a small piece of paper from my pocket.
“But didn’t you say you tried, and no one answered or called you back. What makes you think this time will be different?” Eli points out.
“I won’t know until I try.” I say typing in the number.
Once it began to ring, I held the phone to my ear and crossed my fingers that someone would be on the other end to answer.
(Maya POV)
Something seemed really wrong with Noah. He was tense and sweating, but he had been fine the whole day so I was extremely worried. What could have made him ill all of a sudden? I moved closer to him and raised my hand to feel for a temperature, but he flinched away from me before I could. I couldn’t help the hurt I felt from him moving away from my touch. I pulled my hand away quickly.
“Did I do something to upset you?” I ask him.
His eyes grew wide at that and he took my hand quickly.
“No! Of course not! I’m sorry, I don’t know why I did that. I am not sick I promise! It’s just….” He trails off and there is a noticeable blush on his cheeks suddenly.
“Noah?” I try to get his attention so he will continue.
“Huh? Oh. It’s just….last night I was a bit out of it. Caught in the moment and my wolf was mostly in control during…you know last night. So now I am feeling certain things and it’s a little overpowering and I am nervous.” He says quickly before tensing up waiting for me to respond.
I tuck my lips in tight trying to hold back the laugh that wants to leave my mouth, because he looks so sweet and cute in that moment. The blush on his face had traveled to the tips of his ears as well, and it looked like he was holding his breath waiting for me to be upset or something. When I couldn’t hold it any longer, a small giggle escapes me. He looks to me in confusion.
“Why are you laughing?” He pouts.
I can’t resist and I take his face in my hands and coo at him. “Sorry you just got so shy and it was really cute.” I admit still giggling a little.
He groans in embarrassment but doesn’t pull away, so I close the space between us and kiss him. He tenses at first but soon relaxes into the kiss and easily takes over. We kiss softly for a moment before I pull away and look at him.
“You don’t have to be nervous! We are mates, and you shouldn’t feel afraid to initiate things with me. If I really didn’t want to be with you in that way, I would tell you! Was last night your…first time?” I ask softly.
He swallowed hard and looked away from me before nodding.
“Hey.” I turn his face to me. “It’s ok! It was beautiful and you were so gentle with me! Which I admit surprised me given the fact you said your wolf had taken over most control by that point.”
He still looked a little upset, but he didn’t seem to understand that he had been the most caring and gentle out of the three and I felt totally safe with him. I wanted to be with him again of course, but maybe this time I needed to be the one to start things until he felt confident to indulge in his desires. I crawled over to him and moved myself so that one of my legs was on either side of him and I was sitting comfortably in his lap.
“You never have to worry when we are together Noah! I will always want you.” I tell him, leaning down and kissing him again.
He hesitated at first but soon his hands were brushing along my waists as his hands came to rest near my hips. His hands stayed there for some time but as our kiss deepened, he began to move them up and under my shirt. He was slow with his touches, almost waiting for me to object at some point but of course I wouldn’t. because what I said was true, I would not deny my boys if they wanted me. Not unless there was a good reason to, I would be happy to share those moments with them whenever they wished. With Noah even more so, because I could see that for a while asking for such a thing may be hard for him. However, with how quickly his hands were traveling maybe it wouldn’t be so hard for him after all.
(Tommy POV)
I had been waiting for someone to answer my call for a couple of second now and was about to give up when the ringing suddenly stopped.
“Hello?” No answer.
“Hello is anyone there?” I ask.
“Who is this?” I man’s voice echoes through the phone with an especially assertive tone.
“My name Is Tommy Gray of the Blue Moon Pack , I am looking to reach someone from the Fae world.” I admit I had no idea what to say.
“Why are you looking for the Fae?” the voice asks.
“My mate Maya is half Fae and has some interesting abilities. She really needs help with learning to master her abilities so I was hoping someone from the Fae world could help her.” I say.
Silence falls between us.
“How many?” They ask.
“What?”
“How many abilities does she possess?” The voice asks.
“Uh, so far she has displayed three.” I answer.
“She is one of them…” I hear the voice say quietly.
“What?” I ask.
“We will send someone for her. Where is the girl?” The voice asks firmly.
“Wait! You can’t just take her. She is my mate and the mate of my friends as well!” I say.
“Three mates?” The voice asks.
“Yes. So, we cannot allow you to just take her! And as the next alpha I cannot allow you to take the future Luna of my pack!” I say as firmly as I can without growling deeply as a warning.
“You do not understand her power. She needs to be contained until her training is complete!” the man says, his voice growing more agitated.
“Then send someone to teach her, but she will not be leaving our sight!” I say raising my voice.
Silence once more.
“Very well. What is your location?” I let out a breath to calm myself before telling him the coordinates about a mile from the cabin as a precaution.
“You are making a dangerous mistake, but if you wish to make it, we cannot help you when it becomes too late. Someone will arrive tomorrow morning at 9 am.” The man says before hanging up.
I look to Eli. “So not all good news then?” He asks with a sigh.
No. Just someone else wiling to take Maya and hide her away. Great!
