Chapter 106

One thing about working on the real estate management was, Triffany doesn't always have to be every where with Carlos. Triffany had just finished checking out some distressed home, the spot is in a good neighbourhood and sharing the idea with Carlos will be interesting.



Since Carlos had finally let her do this job, she will try as much as possible to impress him.



She was going back to the office and decided to get some coffee across the street, today she didn't bring her car, it was too flashy and she didn't want to go through the stress of driving so she took a bus.



Carlos had offered for Shanne to give her a ride but she had turned down the offer, Shanne was his personal driver and she want her personal space while she do her work.



She came down from the bus and crossed the little street on her right, she noticed the busy street, sure enough, today wasn't only a busy day for her, there were lot of people also going after their businesses.



She bought the coffee and sat next to the large window facing the busy street, now that she was sipping a coffee in this small cafe made her know that her life had really changed for good.



When she was still single, she would go to a nearby little cafe that has little or more people, but now she was married she hardly do these things, Carlos wouldn't want to come over to this place either.



She relaxed gently on the chair as she watched pedestrian moving to a fro, she smiled when she reminded she do go in search of a job a lot, who would know she would have a car.



She sat up immediately, oh damn! She had forgotten the most important thing. Today was Nick's birthday, and Nick had told her not to miss it even if she was married.



She had to tell Carlos and either go with him, but she knew Carlos must not like the idea, since Nick was inviting a lot of his friends, and Triffany was also get to see few of my classmates.



She paid the bill and left the coffee shop, it was getting close to evening, she knew she have to be there for Nick, even if he was an asshole at time.



First was go to the office, inform Carlos then drive back home, get changed and go to Nick's party, she would have called Carlos on phone, but telling him face to face will be a better idea.



Triffany took a taxi and got to the office, she was glad that she didn't have an high image and people wouldn't notice her much coming out from a taxi.



She went into the company, took an elevator to Carlos office. Triffany open the door and there he was busy with some files, he too had a lot of work to do today.



"Triffany you're back." He put down the pen immediately, well that's one thing with her presence, he normally stop whatever to give her his full attention.



It did not happen at first when they got married, but now it made her happy that she boast about it in her head. She walked over to Carlos.



"How was it?" He asked as he held her hands, if they were at home he would have put her on his laps, she leans close to his desk facing him.



"I got a fascinating offer i will love to share with you." She told him and he smile.



"I can't want to hear it then." Carlos kissed her hands softly.



She look down on the document and things he was working on. "You seems to have a lot of things to do?" She turn her eyes to him again.



"I told you we were working on a new technology." He said and Triffany remembered he had told her something about some cloud technology that made her doze off at the hotel room in New York.



"You can leave before me if you're done with your work." He said, looking straight at her face, she was already done with the work she had to do today. "I will join you after."



Hearing this Triffany know he had a lot of work to do. "Carlos today is Nick's birthday." She started and he raised his brow up. "And he is celebrating it, I was invited."



"Oh, that nice, I would have to join you after doing this, is he celebrating it at his apartment?" Carlos asked and she was glad he said he will join when he was done.



She had thought he would've like the idea of her going alone and tell her to cancel, but it seems he knew people she can't miss their invitation.



"No, not his house." She wonder why Nick had not want to celebrate his party at him apartment, well how many people can his apartment contain.



"At a hotel." Carlos raised his brow and she could see him furrow his brow. "He is inviting few of his classmates and Nick loves celebrating a big birthday party."



Triffany remember the evening of her birthday, Nick had told her this was that it was totally his style.



For a moment Carlos was silently contemplating, she waits for him to speak first, maybe in protest. "Okay." His word made her surprise. "Just send me the address and I will join you immediately I am done here."



Triffany was so happy that she embraced Carlos. "Thank you." She whispered and Carlos gently kiss her hair.

Triffany got home from work and Gabby who was sitting on the sofa in the living room turned her head to look know who it was. "Welcome home Triffany."



"Thank you Gabby." Triffany smile, and walked over to her.



"Where is Carlos?" Gabby asked looking behind Triffany.



"Oh, he had some work to do at the office, so I came back on my own."



"Okay."



Triffany looked at the television, Gabby was watching a TV show which reminded her of the times she stay at Nick's apartment watching her favourite show, now she had little time for all that.



Gabby could see Triffany staring at the television. "Are you interested in this show?" She asked Triffany.



"Oh, no." Triffany shook her head, this one was rather boring, and she was suprise Gabby was watching something like this. "Sorry to say this, but i find this show boring." Triffany told her honestly.



Gabby smile instead of frowning. "Me too." Triffany gave her the, why then are you watching it look. "I am buying time."



"Why don't you come with me to a party." Triffany told her and Gabby turned her head. "Nick ie celebrating his birthday party and I am sure you will have fun there, Carlos will be coming afterwards to join us."



"Carlos?" Gabby leans back to her chair, no longer interested, to her Carlos often act like a grandpa, who knows, she might not even get to say hi to any man there, since her brother will be watching.



"Yes, come with us." Triffany tried to persuade her.



"I am sorry Triffany, I have a date with someone in an hour time." Gabby said with a smile, Jimmy had called her and asked her out on a date and she was only watching this show to make time fly.



"Alright then." Triffany gave up.



Gabby got an idea a turn to Triffany. "You said a birthday right?" Triffany nods. "And Carlos will be coming with you?" Triffany nods again as Gabby got up from the chair.



Gabby scan Triffany all over and Triffany know what that look means. "No Gabby." Triffany raised her finger signalling no, but Gabby gave a goofy smile.



"Hell yes!" Gabby nod, and there they go again.



Triffany arrived at the entrance of the classic page hotel, a big wealthy hotel in Chicago and she wonder how Nick managed to like this place and also pay for everything.



Well Nick was capable, he had produced his own game and he do plan for his birthday six months earlier, it was not like her that always forget hers.



Triffany made her way into the hotel, the dress she wore was so tight and thin that it brought out all her shape and even made it difficult for her to walk on her high heels.



Damn Gabby!
