Chapter 142

The room door opened and Tiffany raised her eyes to glance at it only to see Garrett, Blake, Eric and Gabby step in, her eyes grew wide and they chuckled to see her wide gaze.

“You must be surprised,” Gabby said softly as she ran close and embraced Tiffany warmly. “I miss you too.”

“What are you…” She stopped her words, she was surprised to see them here all at once.

“I know you are shocked, but your husband doesn’t like leaving you all alone, so he asked us to come to keep you company since he is away for some business meeting,” Garrett said as he closed the door.

“He asked us to bring you breakfast too.” Eric lifted the parked lunch box for Tiffany to see as he gently placed it on the desk.

“We heard you will be discharged today.” Blake sat at the edge of the bed and Tiffany looked at all of them, they were all speaking quickly and she didn't know which to answer first.

“Here, eat this,” Gabby, who quickly dished the meal into a bowl for Tiffany, placed it next to her bed. “It's bone broth, good for you and the baby,” Gabby said the words and Blake’s eyes grew wide.

“I am going to be an uncle soon?” He questioned and they all chuckled as Gabby shook her head at him. “Now I understand why Gabby has them prepare a meal for a pregnant lady.” Blake touched the back of his head and the other chuckled and he glanced at both Garrett and Eric. “Why am I the only one who looks so surprised about hearing this?” He searched their eyes. “Don’t tell me you all knew about it while I didn’t?”

“You were busy making up with your girlfriend to notice it, so that’s the reason you are only hearing about it now,” Eric told him and handed the spoon to Tiffany who hasn’t been given a chance to say a word to them since they were all speaking quickly, she also has a lot of questions. “Eat up Tiffany.” He motioned her.

“Still, that is not fair…” Blake turned to Tiffany. “Tiffany, haven’t I been the closest, more understanding friend to at least know about something so important as this?” He asked her and glanced up at Gabby when Triffany didn’t respond. “Gabby, you also who tells me a lot didn’t even bother to say it to me, don’t tell me you new boyfriend knows about this too?” He searched her eyes and Gabby nods her head.

“Tommy knows about it.” Gabby shrugged and Blake scoffed.

“I see, now I feel so hurt within me.” He touched his chest and turned to the others. “My heart has been broken into a thousand pieces.” He lowered his gaze and they all burst out laughing.

“It isn’t the first time your heart has been broken, you can still mend it, a little night sleep will fix it all.” Eric teased him and Blake shot him a glare and Eric smirked.

“Umm…” Tiffany motioned the courage to speak and they all turned to her. “How did you all know that I haven’t eaten breakfast in that few minutes to prepare all of these?” Tiffany pointed at the meal that she had tasted. “By the way, it’s delicious,”

“I know you would like it.” Gabby smiled and Garrett sat on the chair and turned to Tiffany.

“We have been Carlos friends for years and we all have to show up when he calls out to us, and that man has to say it is an emergency for us to show up in five minutes, he always has a way to draw us all out and we also noticed that it really was an emergency, you were all alone and starving you and your child could cause a bigger risk, so we have to show up like obedient dogs.” He pointed at the others and Tiffany glanced up at them and her forehead creased, they really are diligent friends.

“Can you tell me what is going wrong at the company? Carlos always has to leave to attend some emergency meeting and so…” Tiffany was asking but she noticed their silence. “There is really something going on right?” She looked at them again.

“Carlos has it under control, his negligence in the company while looking after you made some delay in signing some contract and cooperating with some investors, those made the list of what he should do pile up, so right now he is trying to finish them up so he can spend much time with you especially when the baby bump, isn’t he just a romantic husband?” Eric blurted the words all out and Triffany was left to think that she was part of the cause he has so much work to do and still, she complains about him not making much time for her, she was really stupid to think all those when Carlos was making lots of effort to make a lot of time for her in the future, how unreasonable of her.

“I never imagined Carlos to be so in love, the last time he was this was on the first day he asked Kelsey out on a date.” Blake quickly clasped his lips together since the words has come out before he could stop it and the others glanced at him and their eyes shifted to Tiffany who was now eating her breakfast without looking up at them, she has not paid attention to Blake’s words since she has been in thought beating herself up for not being understanding.

“You really don’t know when to make a good choice of words Blake!” Gabby mouthed the words with a frown on her face at him and Blake pressed his lips together.

Tiffany glanced up to see them so quiet and she blinked in surprise. “Is there something wrong?” She questioned, they all have their eyes on her and she was wondering why they were looking at her that way as if they were guilty of some crime.

Since none of them was responding, she decided to go into the next question she had to ask since it has been bugging her and she needed to confirm her doubts. “Umm, by the way, who is Arianna?” She asked nonchalantly and they all glanced at each other and Tiffany raised her eyes to look at them again, they were all acting weird.

“Who is that?” Gabby, who has no clue about the lady asked and she turned to Eric and the others with her brows raised, she didn’t like the thought of hearing another lady’s name, one she was not familiar with, more especially when Scarlett was asking and she could tell the others are aware.

“Arianna, she is a business partner working with Mr Carlos on a project that will go into the market soon, I think they are close partners right now.” Garret scratched the corner of his hair and Gabby touched her chin for a while and she looked at Garrett intensely and Garrett shifted on his seat and Gabby scoffed.

“It’s not all the truth, is it?” Gabby questions with raised brows and Tiffany also seems curious, if it wasn’t all then what other relationship does Carlos have with Adrianna.

“Well,” Blake exhales sharply and they turn their gaze to meet him and he first looks at Tiffany to make sure she wasn’t going to react to what he was about to say. “Adrianna was his classmate, not much of an ordinary classmate, but as far as I know, she had a crush on him back in high school, they met a few days ago and she happened to work in a company Carlos is cooperating with, so…” He paused his lips and Tiffany lowered her gaze as she stared at the soup.

It was as she has imagined, well not necessarily the same as she had imagined, but there was a bond, high school bond and now it has drawn to her, just like Tommy had a crush on her, so did this new lady who was a business partner had a crush on Carlos, what was it, was fate paying her back with something this similar?
