Chapter 14
Triffany arrived home, she tried to sneak into the house, opened the front door gently and peer her head into the house.
She smiled when she saw no one in the living room, she stepped inside the house and tiptoed to the stairs, but felt someone watching her.
She turned around and saw her parent watching her, she lowered her eyes guilt. "Good morning Mom and Dad." She looked up at her father with a paused lips. "Dad you did not go to work today, mom how about the market?" She asked them.
Triffany waited for a response but no one answered, she bits her lower lips. "Did someone die?" She asked because of their silence and cold eyes.
Triffany looked around when they did not answer her, she could not spot her younger brother, she looked at them alarmed. "Where is Tanner? Is he alright?" She asked with her eyes wide.
"Triffany, come, have a sit," Laura ordered her, pointing at a sofa in her front.
Triffany exhaled sharply, Tanner must be fine, but she guesses she was the one in trouble now. "Oh. Okay." She sat down on the sofa and looked down at her hands.
She always does this when she feel she did something wrong, and she knew her parents are not happy with her at this moment.
"Where have you been?" Trevor asked, his voice deep.
"Where did you spend the night?" Laura looked at her daughter with an expressionless face.
"What happened yesterday?" Trevor asked again looking at his daughter's face.
"Are you okay?" Laura asked with a more gentle voice.
This made Triffany look up at her lovely mother, she knew she had made them worried, Laura's eyes were scanning Tiffany's body.
"Mom...dad, I'm fine. I was drunk yesterday." She told them and looked down at her hand again.
"Drunk!" Trevor exclaimed as he looked up at her. "How come?"
"Then where did you sleep?" Laura asked panicked if Triffany had been drunk and not return home, it means she was vulnerable.
Triffany bits her lips, she had never lied to her parent and she didn't want to do that now, she raised her head. "I did a drinking challenge with some men who did not agree to pay for their deliveries." She answered her father's question and turned to her mother. "I slept in a mansion."
"Mansion! Did someone molest you?" Laura looked worried and alarmed.
"No mom." Triffany blurts out immediately, why will her mother think that.
She knew she had to set their heart at rest, she decided to spill the beans, gosh she was avoiding this questions, she wishes they had left the house at her arrival.
She sat up and looked at her mother. "That man on TV saw me and took me to his mansion to keep me safe."
"The Glammaly estate heir?" Trevor asked.
"Yes." Triffany saw her parents breathe a sigh of relief, she knew her parents will like him more for that, gosh! How did this happen?
"That was so good of him." Laura smiled and relaxed. "So what happened next?" She asked giggling.
Triffany knew exactly what her mother was asking, one moment she was worried that someone molested her daughter and now she is asking if it happened, her mom was hopeless.
"Mom don't start having crazy imaginations please." Triffany frown and narrowed her eyes, she knew she would never do anything with that man.
"Okay fine." Laura stopped giggling, but Triffany could still see the smile on her mother's lips.
"You shouldn't risk yourself for a job," Trevor told her gently with concern.
"Don't worry dad. I'm already fired." Triffany said softly.
"Fired!" Laura looked at her daughter with a wide eye.
"Yes. And that was because I saw a bad luck today when I woke up." She was referring to Carlos, all she know was that he was bad luck to her.
From the moment she met him on that road, she shakes her head, she did not want to think of that dumbass.
Triffany stands up, she was already tired and famished. "Is my breakfast in the fridge?"
"Yes," Laura answered still smiling.
Triffany looked at her mother, wondering what she was thinking, well anything going through her mind was not possible.
"I will pick it up and head to my room, if Allison arrives please tell her I'm upstairs." Triffany turned around and leave the room.
"Who's the bad luck?" Laura looked at her husband, recalling Tiffany's word about seeing bad luck when she woke up.
"I don't know." Trevor looked at her with a confused expression.
...
Felicity knocked at Carlos office door and went in after told to do so. "Sir, your coffee."
"Place it on the desk," Carlos said still working on the document on his computer.
Felicity moved to the desk to place the coffee down but slipped, spilling the hot coffee on Carlos computer, the company turned off and she looked up at him with fright. "I'm sorry sir." Her voice was shaking as she apologized.
Carlos got up in anger and stamped his hand on the desk in anger. "Can you ever do a job without any little mistake!" His voice made her tremble. "Get the hell out of here this instance." He commanded her like she was a fly.
"I'm sorry sir." Felicity apologize and brought out her scarf to clean the desk at least."
"Are you deaf!" Carlos growl making Felicity jump. "I said leave this instance. Just be aware your job is at stake now. You will receive a message shortly."
Tears filled Felicity's eyes, she knew she would be fired for this. "It was not intentional sir, I'm so sorry sir." She begged him.
Carlos pressed the intercom. "Philip. Come and escort this crazy secretary out of my office, it seems she's deaf."
Carlos face the window and dragged his hands across his hair. "Do you have any idea how important these worksheets are?" He looked at Felicity whose eyes were filled with tears that disgust him. "Our program has been planned to proceed next tomorrow and you've messed it up! How could you be so careless."
"I will make sure to reset them before tomorrow." Felicity pleads and Philip stepped inside.
"You think it is easy to say?" Carlos raised his brow with his eyes at her.
"Sir I'm here," Philip announced.
Seeing Philip here, Felicity said hurriedly to Carlos. "If I set this right, then can you reconsider?"
Carlos looked at her desperate face, she was trying to keep her job. "Philip you can take her out," Carlos ordered.
"Sir please." Felicity begged, but Philip leads her out of the office."
He returned. "Sir."
"What kind of bad luck is this. Philip, I told you to employ someone urgently, but I never asked you to bring a careless person here."
Carlos looked at his computer, the file he was working on wasn't saved and now he had to start from the beginning if he should use another system. "How do we fix this now? The official record is next tomorrow."
Carlos pushed his hair backwards with his hands. "Set an urgent meeting with the four management board, we have to plan this again."
"Okay, sir." Philip left the office to set the meeting.
Carlos faced his window. "So much for seeing that pain in the ass this early morning." He thinks Triffany brought him this bad luck.
He regrets taking her to his house, she is bad luck to him. He walked over to his desk, picking up his suit jacket, he picked up a document and walked out of his office.
"Damn it!”
