Chapter 30
Triffany arrived at Nick's apartment, she entered the house since she knows the password, Allison saw her and gave her a tight hug.
"Wow, Triffany you're not looking bad." Allison looked at Triffany who was wearing a yellow off-shoulder dress that goes perfectly with her skin, her hair was neatly trimmed and was poured down around her shoulder and back.
"I have always been good looking." Triffany smiled, she was always proud of her facial beauty.
"Please come in." Allison ushered her in.
Triffany looked at Nick who was still playing his video game, she frowned, can this man ever grow to pass this. "Nick when will you mature?" She asked with an arched brow.
Nick turned his attention to her, he smiled broadly as he scanned her from head to toe. "Look at you."
Nick hugged her with smiles. "How long have you been married and now you're acting like my elder sister. Just a reminder it's been a week okay." He pulled away.
Triffany frowned. "You're so annoying, as always." She sits on the sofa.
Nick raised his brow. "You're still Triffany, the lady I've known since childhood." He giggles.
Triffany knows he was always trying to annoy her. "I get your point, Nick, now continue your game, am not here to see you okay." She turned to face Allison who was just staring at them.
Nick saw the parked bag Triffany was holding. "You brought goodies." Nick moved closer to see.
Triffany smirked. "Don't act like a kid who comes to his elder sister for cookies."
"Okay, your highness." Nick looked at her, Triffany smiled victoriously. "What's inside the wrap?" He asked.
"Nick back off." Allison snatched the bag from her brother and glared at him. "You weren't excited when I told you she was coming over."
"I'm still not excited, am only glad because of these wraps," Nick said pointing at the bag.
Triffany frowned at his honesty. "Can't you tell a white lie at least?"
"No." Nick exhaled softly. "One thing with ladies, they talk too much." He was impatient to eat what she brought.
"Sorry to say this, but, I did not buy anything for you." Triffany narrowed her eyes and turned to Allison.
"You must be kidding me." Nick frowned.
Triffany smiled and open the wraps. "Tarda!"
Nick saw what was inside and exhaled sharply, he scoffed. "Only strawberry cakes?"
Triffany paused, she looked at the disappointed Nick. "What else were you expecting?" She asked.
"Gosh! Triffany you know what I like, you should have bought me an updated program PC." Nick said.
Triffany looked up at him in surprise, she leans back on the sofa. "Nick, I'm still jobless."
Nick raised his brow. "But, your husband is rich."
"Husband?" Triffany scoffed. "Don't let me think about that man." She had come here to clear her thoughts.
Allison brought cutleries and sauce, she shared the cakes as they dig in. "What about him?" Allison asked.
"He is not my husband." Triffany blurts out.
Nick scoffed. "You're both married and everyone witnessed the occasion."
Triffany looked at him, she had wanted to take these thoughts out of her head but it's now a topic here. Well, these were her cousin, she was opened to them. "Everyone thinks we're married but we both know we are not."
"Was there no cosy moment between you two on your trip in the hotel?" Allison asked curiously.
"No." We can't do that." Triffany said nonchalantly.
"But, you both kissed during the wedding."
Triffany raised the corner of her lips. "No, that was fake, did you not notice, we used our hands to cover the audience view."
The both of them looked at her with a surprised expression. "Then what did you both do on the trip?" Allison asked, still with her surprised looks.
Triffany filled them in on how boring her trip was, and everything Carlos said to her. "Are you for real?" Allison's eyes were wide with shock.
"I better find a job soon," Triffany muttered.
"He is horrible!" Allison frown. "Where is he now?" She asked.
"He went out to meet his lover," Triffany said softly.
Nick looked at her with pity. "I'm sorry Triffany, but you should hold him back."
She leans back on the sofa, eating her portion of the cake. "I've got better things to do with my time, I can't hold unto someone who doesn't love me. Just stop talking about that person."
She turned to Allison. "Allison, have you seen any available job a graduate could do?" She asked.
"There's one job opportunity opened," Allison told her without hesitation.
"Which company?" Triffany leans closer, curiously, this was something she has always wanted, a job.
"Glammaly estate."
"Glammaly estate?" Triffany stutter, where had she heard that name before, she paused and look at Allison. "Which Glammaly estate?"
"Your husband company."
Triffany bites down her lower lips and furrowed her brow. "That's the last place I would think of working."
"Hey Triffany asks him, you can get in without any interview," Nick told her in a haste.
It was the truth, but the Carlos she knows will never do that, they hate each other and she never wants to work for him, or in that company of his.
"Just eat. Allison am going to your room to sleep." Triffany said standing up from the sofa.
"Okay. But, have you visited your parents?" Allison asked.
"No." Visiting her parents was what she have to do with Carlos, but she was angry that they let her into a marriage without love, to her, she felt like she was sold into this marriage.
Triffany walked into Allison's room and lay on the bed, what a life she is living, her husband was with his lover and here she is, in her cousin's place.
All the things she would do, if she had married a man who loves her, she had made a plan when she was in school, but life never gives us what we plan.
Well, she have to rest and gain some energy, if she has to continue this married life, then she has to be strong. She closed her eyes and drift to sleep.
