Chapter 141

Tiffany gently open her eyes and she squinted immediately and raised her n to cover her eyes since the light reflection that came in through the open window blinded her, she can’t how long she has slept but she could tell that it was morning and the thought of not seeing Carlos Zack before falling asleep drawn to her and she quickly turned her eyes to glance around the room just in case he has come in while she was asleep.

Tiffany's expression turned pale when she didn’t see any sight of Carlos, her heart fell and she gently reached for her phone that was on the table, lifting it, she scroll through it, there was no call back from the missed call she gave him last night before falling asleep and there was no call from him, not text messages either.

Tiffany scoffed and put down her phone only to hear the door crack open and she glanced up to see Carlos coming into the room, she was delighted but quickly hid it as he walked over to her with a smile on his face,

“Hi, love, how was your night?” Carlos asked as he leaned close and kissed her on the cheek and placed the bag he had come in with on the table next to them. Tiffany didn’t move and he turned to look at her stomach and rubbed it gently with his palm. “How is our baby doing too?” He asked softly with a smile and looked up at Tiffany's face to see her so quiet.

“Tiffany, are you unwell? “ A worried line appeared between his brows as he looked at her pale face. “Do you feel any discomfort? Should I call the doctor?” He questioned and got to his feet to press the red button by the door but Tiffany held his hand and he turned his eyes to her and gently sat down.

“I didn’t see you last night, Carlos. I was worried about the way you left…” She paused her lips. “Is anything wrong?” She questioned but Carlos shook his head.

“Nothing is, I am sorry for coming late, I arrived and found you sleeping. I had to stay up until this morning, I left for home by four this morning and got dressed, also, I got you a change of dress.” He pointed at the bag he had left on the table. “I reasoned that you would want to see me so I had to rush over quickly.” Carlos raised her hand to his lips and planted a warm kiss on them as he looked at her face. She was staring at him and Tiffany smiled.

“I miss you, Carlos.” She said softly and Carlos got to his feet and leaned forward, pulling her into a hug and he gently closed his eyes feeling her warmth, he missed her more, he couldn’t take his mind off her while he was at work and he had to end the meeting that should have lasted for four hours quickly just to be here with her, but when he had found her asleep when he arrived last night, he had stared at her face all through the night and barely caught any sleep until he left this morning for home.

“I am here now.” He said softly and his phone rang in his pocket and Tiffany whose eyes were closed quickly flickered open as Carlos gently leaned back and took the phone out of his pocket, he glanced down at the name that flashed through his phone and turned to Tiffany. “I have to take this.” He motioned to her and she nods her head as he took the call. “Hello, Adrianna.” He called out as he gently left the room and Tiffany bit down her lower lips as she arched her brows glancing at the door.

A few moments later, Carlos walked back into the room and she looked up at his face. “Do you have to leave again?” She asked him and Carlos stepped close to her and took her hands in his as Triffany gently sat up.

“Yes, I have to go to the company, there is a meeting I should attend.” He told her and Tiffany pressed her lips together as her forehead wrinkled. “I will be back early, I promise.”

“Carlos, I want to be discharged today, can you please process my discharge?” Tiffany asked, she was no longer going to stay in this hospital while Carlos does all the work, she wishes to leave so that she could know who that lady was and what she wants with Mr Carlos Zack and why she always finds the liberty to call him whenever he should be spending time with her.

“Tiffany, I don’t think you should be discharged yet, you should recover well before---“

“You heard the doctor,” Tiffany politely cut him off. “He said I am well and will recover quickly, I should have been discharged two days ago but you insisted I keep staying here, I want to go home, I don’t really like staying at a hospital, I don’t want to, so please…” She looked into his eyes and Carlos nodded his head,

“Fine, I will process your discharge, the doctor will check you up and I will be back at noon to take you home, how about that?” He searched her eyes and Tiffany nodded since that felt fair to her and she was going to leave her after all.

“That is more preferable.” She smiled and he kissed her lips gently letting his tongue entangle with her and Tiffany smiled, everything about being close to Carlos made her happy and her cheek turned crimson.

Carlos leaned back and looked at Tiffany. “Oh, that reminds me,” His words made her raise the corner of her brows curiously waiting to hear what he had to say. “I got a call from your parents, they are on their way back from their trip,” Carlos told her and Tiffany was surprised that he got that information when she didn’t.

“Why didn’t they call to let me know?” Tiffany's eyeballs were large and Carlos chuckled softly at her jealousy.

“Well, it seems I am their favourite son-in-law.” Tiffany furrowed her brows at him and Carlos leaned close to her and placed his hand on her cheek. “Darling, don’t be so mad, I only have to tell them that you need all the rest you can get so that was the reason they told me that since I called them first, also, I didn’t want them to call you since you won’t want them worrying over why you are at the hospital.” He pinched the corner of her nose and Tiffany pushed his hand away playfully.

“I see you enjoy teasing me.” They both smiled and Carlos sat down at the edge of the bed and looked at Tiffany with his beautiful eyes filled with love in them.

“I don’t want to go.”

“But you have to.” Tiffany took his hand and glanced down at her small hand that held hers. “I will come to take you home by noon and we would have to stay together to make up all the moment I am not here, okay.” He assured her and Tiffany nodded her head.

“Now go, you won’t want to be late for your meeting.” She said with a smile and Carlos flashed her a smile and got to his feet.

“See you later.” He told her and got to his feet to leave.

“Carlos,” Tiffany called out and he turned to her. “Come here for a sec.” She gestured to him and he walked close to her. “A little closer.” She told him and he leaned to meet her gaze and Tiffany gently adjusted his tie and smiled at him. “It was croaked.”

Carlos took the liberty to kiss her on the lips. “I love you, Tiffany, never forget that.” He said sexily.

Tiffany's cheek flushed and she nodded her head. “I love you.” She smiled and Carlos bid her goodbye and left the room.

Tiffany smile and shrugged, who said her husband was cheating on her, well no one said that it was just her emotion playing those tricks on her, Carlos loves her and their child, he came last night to see her only that she has fallen asleep so soon to notice him, but he still showed up, she was in love with him too and would see him at noon today.
