Chapter 36

Gabby and Tommy got dressed after the swimming as they head over to Tommy’s car. “Let me drop you off at your house.” Tommy offered to give her a ride.
Gabby leans close to his car, her eyes at him with a smile on her lips. “Such a gentleman.”
Tommy rolled his eyes, he knows she was being sarcastic now. “That’s the right thing a man should do.”
Gabby checked her wristwatch and smiled broadly. “It’s time.” She looked up at Tommy giggling.
Tommy looked at her puzzled. “What time?” He asked with his eyes looking at her.
“It’s a fun time!” Gabby smiled girlishly as she brought out her phone.
“What fun?” Tommy checked his wristwatch, it was eight-thirty and already late to have any fun.
Gabby looked at Tommy with the don’t-tell-me-you-don’t-know looks. “Clubs are hitting it up right now, let’s go have a blast and get real fun.” She jumped up like an elementary school girl who just got her first pass mark.
Tommy chuckled as he saw her smiling face, who can say no to this lady, she was so carefree and had been herself all day. She had reminded him of someone, someone he had been looking for. “Okay let’s do that then.
They entered the car and took a ride to Scumble club. Gabby heard the loud music as they entered and start shaking her head to the beat. “Now this is what I’m talking about. YOYO!” She screamed out loud and started dancing.
Tommy joined her, as they dance, the music was so loud that they can barely hear themselves. The way Gabby moved made Tommy suggest she join a dancing team, she was really good.
In the crowd, Gabby spotted Blake and furrowed her brow. What was he doing here? She turned to Tommy. “Excuse me for a while, I will be right back.” She told him through the loud noise, Tommy nods to show he heard her.
Gabby walked over to Blake and tapped his shoulder. “Hey young man.”
Blake turned around to see her but he wasn’t surprised he will find her here like Gabby was a club goddess. “Hello miss.” He pecked her cheek and Tommy saw this from where he stands.
”What are you doing here?” Gabby asked, sitting next to him, she sipped his beer which was on the table.
Blake looked at her but didn’t care if she sips his beer or not. “Hanging out with my female friends.” He said nonchalantly.
Gabby raised her brow. “And your girlfriend?”
Blake smiled and sip from his beer. “She fine with this, she’s not the jealous type.”
Gabby seems to relax, this was the same girlfriend she had taught him to keep. “Good for you. So where are those female friends of yours?” She looked around him but could not see any.
Blake placed his hands on the table as the bar attendant refill his glass. “Went to catch up with other men, you know.” He brought his glass to his lips and took a large gulp of the beer.
Gabby chuckled. “Good thing they know you’re not handsome and you’re so boring.”
“Shit! Not again.” Blake rolled his eyes and they both laugh. “Are you here alone?” He looked at her.
“You should know better. I got many men.” Gabby said proudly, she always has someone she takes to a club.
Blake scoffed and turned to look at her face. “The ones you kick to the curb after each date?”
Gabby gently tuck her hair behind her ear. “I’m not planning to do that to this one.” She sad seriously.
Blake supported his chin with his hands and smile. “Don’t tell me you have fallen in love for real.”
Gabby arched her brow. “Hell no. He is handsome that’s all and he got a cute smile and teeth.” She curled her lips, the word love was a large distance between what she had for that man, she doesn’t fall in love, that is her first rule.
Blake moved his head to his side to take a better look at her. “Let me guess, you haven’t kissed him yet, that must be why.” He raised his brow with amusement.
“Oh no!” Gabby smiled. “You got me there.” Gabby had always left any man she kissed, especially if he is not a good kisser.
“Silly girl.” Blake shook his head, this was something that he knows so much, this was Gabby after all. “Go home Gabby, and stop being such a bitch.”
Gabby sip her beer and turned to Blake with a serious face. “If he is a good kisser I’m keeping him.”
“And if he’s not?”
“Break up immediately.” She said simply.
“Hey,” Tommy called out as he came close to them.
Gabby turned around. “Tommy.” She smiled her cute charming smile as she stands up to hold his arm. “Sorry for keeping you waiting. Meet Blake, my brother’s childhood friend and Blake meet Tommy, my date for tonight.”
Blake stretched his hands out for a handshake. “Nice to meet you, Tommy. Take good care of her, she’s like a kid sister to me.” Blake said with a smile.
Gabby furrowed her brow. “Blake.” She called throw clenched teeth. “Kid sister my butt.” Blake chuckled, he knows how well Gabby hates being called kid sister.
“I will,” Tommy told Blake, understanding that their relationship was only that of a friend and nothing more, he doesn’t have to worry about Blake.
Gabby turned to Tommy. “Let’s leave this dude and go over there and have a real drink.” She doesn’t want Blake to spoil her date, perhaps he had been sent here to watch her by her brother.
“Okay let’s do that.”
They both went to the bartender at the left-wing of the club and order champagne. Tommy watched her take a large gulp of the drink. “Are you sure about this?” He asks worriedly.
Gabby chuckled. “Trust me, I’m damn sure about it.” She poured another glass for herself. “One-shot.” She gulps it down.
“You’re interesting.” Tommy smiled his eyes on her watching her closely. Gabby looked at him waiting for him to continue. “Normal ladies I hang out with are just quiet and calm.”
Gabby waved her hands. “That style is so boring, I show all my abilities and crazy self on the first day. I’m not a pretender and I don’t care what others say about me.”
She took another glass and lift to her lips but stopped to look at Tommy who hasn’t touched his drink. “Please don’t let me drink alone.”
“Oh sure.” He lifts his drink to his lips.
"You're cool. Why?" Gabby leans close to the table with her chin on her hands.
"I don't understand." Tommy looked at her in surprise.
"Other men would want to take their chances, but you." Gabby raised her brow. "You're not doing that."
"I respect ladies." Tommy lifts his glass to his lips.
"So you have never kissed any lady?" Gabby who already tipsy looked at him closely.
Tommy dropped his glass and rub his hands on his face like someone embarrassed. "No, I have attempted to, but it was not successful."
"Really?" Gabby raised her brow in surprise. "Who was that lady?"
Tommy smiled and his face turned so red. "A lady from my university. She's a damsel, crazy and cool. She doesn't care about her dress or hairstyle like she wears anything she finds comfortable. Not minding the colours. She was still damn pretty."
Gabby exhaled softly, by his explanation she must be his first love. "And you're still in love with her?"
"Yes. Who would love her." Tommy said the words before stopping it. He looked at Gabby and his smile disappeared. "I'm sorry." He apologized.
Gabby waved her hands. "You don't have to, seriously I'm okay. It doesn't matter to me. So tell me."
"I shouldn't be saying all these when I'm on a date with you." Tommy looked at her with an apologizing expression.
Gabby groan at his consistent apologies. "Come on. Don't be childish. It's normal, so tell me where she is now?"
Tommy studied Gabby closely, she gave nothing away so he continues. "I don't know. I lost contact with her after we graduated and I had to travel out of the country for some research." Tommy sips his champagne. "But I'm back now."
Gabby raised her brow. "Any plans of finding her?"
"Maybe she's not here anymore, it's been two years already," Tommy said softly.
Gabby realize something and lean closer. "That must be why you decide to hang out with someone."
"I've been doing that since this year, but no one was as good as her until I met you today and you are quite interesting." Tommy held her hands and stare at her.
Gabby knows that he still has the other girl on his mind. "I hope you find her someday." She said with a smile. She took another glass of champagne.
