Chapter 17
"Triffany you've got to see this," Laura called out from downstairs to Triffany who was in her room, the next morning.
Triffany came downstairs, she just finished washing her mouth, after she woke up this morning. "See what?"
"This." Laura points at the news where Ethan Zack announced their wedding is next week Saturday.
Triffany shakes her head and smile, the smile did not reach her eyes. "They have got to be kidding me."
Her eyes turned cold and angry the next seconds. "How can he do that without consulting me first!" She growls.
Laura who was not happy on her end said softly. "That got to be their way...rich people."
"Oh my gosh!" Triffany shouts and scattered her hair with her hands furiously.
Tanner Tiffany's brother came close to her. "Triffany, I heard you're getting married into a wealthy family and to an heir of Glammaly estate. You have earned a bid trophy for yourself." Tanner smiled.
Triffany gave her brother a hard glare, did he think this was the ancient days where they marry a girl child off to a family against her will.
Her brother was always getting in her nerve, what trophy, if Carlos Zack was a trophy, then she never want to earn any in her life.
"What the heck are you saying?!" She yells at him.
Tanner hides behind his mother. "He's helping your life, you will be rich without working and looking at you right now, you're a mess, and being a wife of an heir is just a blessing." He told her looking at her dress.
She was wearing worn-out black pants and a big lemon top that her body was lost in, her hair was a mess, filled with few tangles.
Triffany hits his head gently. "You're crazy!"
"Ouch, that hurts." Tanner touch the spot she hits.
"I hope it hurts real bad." Triffany turned to her mother. "Mom I'm heading out." She walked to the door.
"Where to?" Laura asked surprised.
"Anywhere. But to kill one son of a bitch!" She shouts and opened the door to leave.
"Are you going to dress that way?" Laura asked, looking at her daughter's appearance.
"How is my dress?" She asked, looking at herself.
"All messy, I'm really ashamed to have you as my sister. No fashion sense at all. Gosh!" Tanner shakes his head and walked to his room.
"You better hope I don't catch you when I return!" Triffany call after him and walked out of the door slamming it shut on her way out.
"Oh my!" Laura held her forehead as she sits down. "I don't know any other way to help that my child." She exhaled sharply.
Carlos Zack went to see the chairman at his Villa, he walked up to Ethan Zack who was standing in the French mirror looking out of the garden. "What exactly are you doing chairman?" Carlos asked with a cold voice.
Ethan faces him with a smile. "You're here Carlos."
"You fixed the date already," Carlos said trying hard to control his anger.
Ethan walked to his desk and sits down on the chair. "The press was running out of patience as to when your marriage would be held. I have to do it since you're not forthcoming."
Carlos scoff. "And since when or for how long will you hurt me and the person I love?"
"You both will get over it soon," Ethan said gently, folding his hands gently on the desk.
"Kelsey is not a strong as she appears to be and I will never stop loving her," Carlos said indifferently.
Ethan relaxes on his chair, his eyes on his angry grandson. "I don't care about your love life, Carlos. As long as it saves the company, you can continue loving Kelsey and hate this new girl, I don't give a damn. As long as the wedding push forward to save the company. That should be what you keep in mind. My pronouncement is final, you are getting married next week."
With this Ethan Zack stands up and left the room, leaving Carlos who looks heartbroken. He knows he can never go against the chairman. He knew his grandfather will never back out.
Bailey Zack, his grandmother came inside. "Carlos, son." Her voice was gentle, Carlos turned his sad eyes to look at her.
Bailey walked close to him. "I know this is a lot for you to bear, I do understand, but you really should stay focus." She looked him all over. "You look a mess. You need to rest Carlos." She told him.
Seeing his grandmother, the woman who took care of him after his parent's death, he sobs. "Grandma Bailey, at this point I miss my parents. I wish they were still alive." Tears filled his eyes.
Bailey pulled him in a comforting hug. "That's why I'm here for you. I miss them too. Right now you need to be strong, come lay down and rest for a while."
Bailey took him to the room he had here when he was still with them, she made him lay down to rest.
Carlos who had not been sleeping lately closed his eyes under the watch of his grandmother and drift to sleep.
