Chapter 20
Three days later, Kelsey and her best friend Abbey went shopping for new goods for her mall.
Abbey looked out through the glass door and saw a familiar face, she taps Kelsey gently on her shoulder. "Kelsey is that not the girl on the news.
Kelsey turned around, tracing Abbey she saw Triffany also shopping for clothes.
Kelsey frowned as she assesses Triffany who was wearing a less expensive dress and a ribbon tied in her hair like that of a little child.
Kelsey scoff. "Tsk! She's just a low life. Gosh! I don't believe this."
Abbey looked at Kelsey, she was also angry that such a lowlife would steal her friend's boyfriend, well it was not stealing. "Should we teach her a lesson?"
Kelsey swallowed to ease her anger. "I can't bring myself down to mingle with that low life." Kelsey turned and continue shopping.
Abbey looked at her, puzzled. "Wow! I admire you." Abbey gives Kelsey a thumbs up, not many people will see a person who snatches their happiness, and let them be.
"Let's just continue our shopping." Kelsey checks a dress out. "How is this one?" She asked Abbey.
"It's beautiful," Abbey told her. Abbey looked at Kelsey. "Are you okay? You look pale Kelsey."
"I'm alright. Just a little headache. I will be fine." She moved to the next section and Abbey follow her.
"You shouldn't force yourself. I know you very well." Abbey told her. "We can go back home if you want."
Kelsey turned to Abbey. "Abbey, I said I'm fine. Now can we shop in silence? Please." Saying this Abbey held her words and focus on shopping with Kelsey.
Glammaly estate.
Felicity came into Carlos Zack office, she hands him the minutes of their last meeting and told him his schedule.
"You will be going to the construction site in three hours. You're meeting with General Lee have been rescheduled to two-fifteen this afternoon. You have to meet with Miss Triffany Joey...." Carlos cuts her off before she could finish.
Carlos looked up and she paused. "Who is Triffany Joey?" He asked since he was not familiar with that name.
Felicity looked at him surprised, how won't he know, she wonders. "Sir, it's your wife to be." She told him.
Carlos closes his eyes and opened them, with a cold tone he asked. "Why?"
"To pick the wedding dress."
Carlos shook his head and held the space between his eyebrows. "Next, please.
"You also have a dinner reservation at the hearty hotel with her at six in the evening."
Carlos exhaled sharply. "Who arranged this schedule?"
"Me. sir," Felicity answered with a quivering voice, she thinks she had done something bad and provoked her boss again.
"You?" Carlos raised his brow.
"Yes sir. Due to the event on Saturday." She answered, she was only doing her job but she still felt scared.
"What event?" Carlos asked her with his eyes now staring at her.
"Your wedding ceremony, sir," Felicity answered, a part of her was telling her that her boss was only asking these questions to test her ability, not because he doesn't know.
Carlos runs his hand through his hair and took a deep breath. "You may leave now." He told her and Felicity left in a hurry.
Carlos scoff at the thought of a wedding, everything was already happening fast. He dropped the pen in his hands and stands up, looking out through his French window in thought.
Triffany lay down on a sofa at Nick's apartment, eating an apple while watching a TV show. Nick came out and sees her. "Hey, Triffany." He called out.
"Don't distract me, this part is my favourite," Triffany told him with her eyes still on the show.
Nick smirked. "You should be getting ready to leave," Nick called out again.
"Where?" Triffany asked still eating her apple and not glancing at Nick.
"You're going out with the rich heir to choose your wedding dress today." Nick reminded her.
"What wedding dress?" Triffany sigh.
Nick looked at her surprised. "Did you forget what today is?"
"No. It's Thursday, three-thirty in the afternoon when I do watch my favourite TV show. Am I wrong?" She said looking at Nico who shook his head at her.
"You're hopeless, no wonder you have not found a job yet."
Triffany gave him a hard glare. "Nick you're distracting me and you know very well what that means."
"Yes, I do," Nick said, sitting down next to her he took the apple from her hand. "You should stop eating this too, you have had enough, go home," Nick told her.
Triffany looked at him with a wide eye. "You're seriously chasing me out huh!"
"I want what's best for you Triffany." Nick looked at her straight in the eyes.
Triffany bits her lower lips. "You know what Nick. I hate you!" She shouts.
Nick looked at her shocked. "You what?"
"What's best for me?" Triffany snapped. "Do you think it's easy for me? Getting married to someone I don't love, someone who loves his money and company more than anything, someone who is selfish enough to not consider my feelings. Nick, you should be encouraging me not to do this but you also want to sell me off because he is rich."
Triffany was angry and stands up, running her hands through her hair. "The only place I can come to, in other to keep my head out of the world and those frustrating news, is here, and now you're chasing me away."
Tears filled her eyes. "Nick I hate you for this."
"Triffany." Nicholas hugged her, he now regrets his words. "I'm sorry." He apologized, he Pat her back but Triffany kept on crying. "I'm sorry, I did not consider your emotions, but emotions don't matter when it comes to rich people, no need to cheer you on when you can't run away from it."
Triffany pushed him off in anger and tears. "I have always known you're an asshole, Nick. Right from childhood." She picked up her bag and walked out of the door.
Shanne Cole opened the car door for Carlos Zack, he entered and fastened his seat belt.
Shanne started the engine. "Where are we going now?" Carlos asked.
"Twirl Boutique," Shanne answered and drive into traffic.
"Why?" Carlos asked raising his head.
Shanne was surprised but he kept his focus on the road. "To get your dress/suit for the wedding. Miss Triffany Joey is there waiting.
Carlos scoffed, just the thought of Triffany there, he believes she must be thrilled. "Let's just go." He frowned and looked at his tablet.
His phone rings and he answered. "Carlos Zack."
"Carlos it's Abbey. Kelsey is sick."
"What!" Carlos's eyes widen. "Where is she?" He asked.
"At home, she doesn't want to go the hospital."
"I'm coming over right now." He hangs up. "Shanne head to Kelsey's apartment right now."
"Okay, sir. What about the boutique?" Shanne asked as he turned the car around.
"Cancel that. Step on it, Kelsey needs me now."
"Okay, sir."
