Chapter 140

Tiffany glanced down at the wall clock, she has been listening to Allison all through the day, Gabby was somewhere enjoying herself with Tommy and the hospital suck being alone with the thoughts of Carlos with a lady she knew nothing about, a lady who he has to leave to answer her calls, it was really annoying to have these feeling of being jealous.

“You are not listening to me right?” Alison, who had noticed Tiffany's loss of attention, asked and Tiffany turned her eyes away from the clock and back to Alison as she flashed a smile and Alison took her hand and squeezed it softly. “You are getting yourself worried and it’s not good for the baby, you know it.” She looked at Tiffany who glanced out of the window.

“I know, but, I can’t help it, it has also been over four hours since he left, he hasn’t called me or come back, it’s past nine in the evening and he still isn’t here, I hate myself for having this crazy feeling.” She said softly and Allison patted her hand and Tiffany turned to Allison. “My thoughts are running wild Alison.”

“I wish I knew this feeling---“ The room door opened, making Alison and Tiffany turn their eyes to the door in hopes to see Carlos only to sigh when Nick walked in.

“I feel bad.” Nick spat the words out. “You both look disappointed to see me, I guess I am not the one you are both expecting.” He sighed when they both said nothing. “I said my feelings are hurt Tiffany, I came all the way here to see cousin sister, but she doesn’t seem pleased to see me.” He walked over to the edge of her bed and sat down.

“I am glad you know I am not pleased to see you, you are busy falling in love to come see me, is that how much I mean to you?” Tiffany furrowed her brows, she was in a crappy mood right now and Nick showing up instead of Carlos has displeased her, more especially when Nick has only come to see her once while she was unconscious.

“You blurt talking witch.” Nick shot Alison a glare and Alison lowered her gaze. “Come on Tiffany.” Nick turned his gaze to her again with a smile on his lips.``You know I love you so much too, but I have to pay more attention to a girl I have finally fallen in love with.”

“A girl you didn’t have the courage to confess to, you only spend your week staring at her picture and ogling at her at work,” Tiffany spoke without hesitation and Nick turned his eyes to Alison again with a furrowed brow.

“How much did Alison tell you?” He clenched his jaw and Tiffany scoffed.

“She told me how you are so coy in admitting your feeling to your crush and how you stopped playing games and only stare at her picture and how you see her in your dreams and mutter Katy with smiles in your sleep and how---“

“That is enough Tiffany!” Nick cuts her off, he knew she was mocking him right now and trying to get back at him for not showing up when he should. “I know you are offended, but you don’t have to use my feelings against me, it is just so wrong and you know it.” Nick frowned but Tiffany crossed her arms over her chest.

“As if, I am just paying you back for all the times you used Carlos against me, and I am glad you get a taste of how that feels, so tell me, is your love life working for you?” Tiffany asked sarcastically and Nick closed his eyes and held the space between his brows, this was more like Tiffany, she toys and pays back when she has the opportunity to.

Nick groaned and Tiffany chuckled and leaned forward. “Ah, I see it isn’t going as you hoped, and here I was thinking you have gone over to the next level, too bad.” She shrugged and Nick raised his eyes to meet Tiffany.

“To think you are so hurt that you won’t offend me when I show up, you are the same as always and I am sure your pregnancy hormone is making you more annoying!” Nick clenched his jaw and Tiffany furrowed her brows.

“Shit! Are you two going to be like this again?” Alison questioned trying to break them apart since they were always like cat and dog, always fighting when they had the chance to, and it was not so good to do that here in the hospital.

“You stay away from it Alison, you were the one who blurted the words about Katy to Tiffany and now she is using it against me, if only you hadn't said the words…”

“You know I don’t keep anything from Tiffany and so what if she knew about it, she knows all about you as much as you know all about her, so why the angry face and red looks?” Alison juts her chin up.

“Ata girl, see, Alison is right, so…” Tiffany smirked. “What was it you were trying to say earlier?” Tiffany chuckled and Nick looked at the both of them and scoffed.

“You two are just so unbelievable.” He got to his feet to leave and Tiffany and Alison chuckled.

“I am sure you still owe me something!” Alison called out and Nick turned to look at Alison who raised her brows.

“Yes, you still owe her something, you both made a bet, didn’t you?” Tiffany curled her lips up and Nick ground his teeth as he looked at his sister. “I told you, she told me everything.”

Nick exhaled sharply. “I see she did, well.” Nick’s lips curved up. “I did confess my feelings to her, so the bet doesn’t count anymore.” He grinned and Alison and Tiffany glanced at each other.

“What did she say?” Tiffany quickly asked.

“Did you get accepted or rejected?” Alison questioned and the smiles on Nick’s face disappeared. “Ah… I see you got rejected.” She smirked.

“I wasn’t rejected.” He looked at her with a frown but his brows relaxed immediately. “Although, I wasn’t accepted either.” He walked close to them and they both blinked in confusion. “I just bought time.” He sat down at the edge of the bed again.

“I still don’t understand.” Tiffany and Alison looked at him curiously and Nick explained everything for them and they both chuckled hard after he told them what she said and how he had responded to her.

“Is it funny?” Nick frowned at them, the thought of them chuckling was not pleasing at all.

“So, what are you going to do, how are you going to make her fall in love with you with three dates?” Tiffany couldn’t help but ask since she was also curious how her cousin who has never dated a girl and has invested all his time in gaming will pull that up.

“I don’t know,” Nick said softly as he lowered his gaze. “I just blurted the words out with no idea how to do it.” He mumbled the words and Tiffany and Alison shook their heads at Nick.

“You really are unbelievable.” Allison shook her head and leaned back on the chair and Nick glanced up from Alison to Tiffany and he exhaled softly.

“This is the reason I want the help of the both of you.” Tiffany and Alison scoffed and Nick saw their expression. “Tiffany, I want you to tell me what Mr Carlos did to make you fall in love with him.” Nick stared at her and Tiffany crossed her arms as she leaned back.

“I don’t know.” She looked out of the window, from there she could see the twinkling of stars and she was wondering when Carlos would show up.

“Come on Tiffany, you are in love with Mr Carlos, but you never married him out of love, you both were not in love when you married him, so, tell me what he did to make you fall in love with him…” Nick tilted his head, his beautiful eyes staring at her with pleading eyes and Tiffany turned her eyes to Nick.

“I am being honest right now Nick,” Tiffany exhaled sharply. “Just as you said, I was not in a romantic relationship with Carlos and the only thing I can recall was how we argued a lot, so I can’t really pinpoint the reason I fell in love with him, or what he did, I just fell in love with him.” Tiffany finished with a smile on her lips.

“Aish!” Nick ran his hand through his hair and let out an exasperated sigh. “How can you not know?” He pointed at Tiffany who shrugged then he turned to Alison with his brows slightly raised.

“Come on Nick, you know I am so focused on my studies right now to be dating, although I have a slight bit of crush on someone.” Alison scratched the corner of her hair and glanced up to see their eyes on her, she smiled shyly as she gave them a dismissive wave. "Nick, Tiffany got a better experience than I do so it will be better to hear from her rather than from me." She pointed at Tiffany and Nick turned his eyes to her.

"Nick you won't get anything from me, you can browse the Internet, I am sure there are posts that talk about making a girl fall in love with you, so good luck on that," Tiffany said to him and Nick groaned, he had thought of that but had come here hoping to get some real experience from Tiffany.

He exhaled softly and got to his feet. "I see, that is my only choice, I will be heading back home now." He turned to leave.

"Nick," Tiffany called out and he turned to look at her. "Take Allison home with you." Alison turned to Tiffany quickly.

"I can't leave you all alone, whereas Mr Carlos called and asked me to stay with you until he gets--"

"I am not a kid, Alison." Tiffany cuts her off. "It's getting late already and not so good for a girl to go home alone, go with your brother, I will be fine alone, whereas, I am feeling sleepy already." She flashed a reassuring smile and a worried line appeared on Allison's brows.

"Will you really be okay?"

"Nick, take your sister away from here," Tiffany said jokingly and they all chuckled as Alison got up.

"We are leaving now okay." Alison waved at her.

"Hmm, goodnight." Tiffany flashed a smile and they both said goodnight to her and left.

Tiffany took up her phone and dialled Carlos number, the phone rang on the other side of the line but he didn't pick up, she tossed her phone aside and lay back on the bed as she stared at the ceiling trying not to let her thoughts run wild, it was past ten and Carlos still didn't show up or take her calls, she closed her eyes and drifted to sleep.
