Chapter 22
Triffany picked a wedding dress and left for Nick's apartment, she chose not to go home, knowing her mother will be worried to see her sad.
She lay on the sofa and closed her eyes and Nick walked up to her. "You're back. How was it?" Nick asked, sitting next to her.
"Get out!" Triffany shouted at him, giving him a hard glare.
He stands from the sofa in fright. "I'm at my house, I can't go anywhere," Nick said gently.
Triffany knew he was right but she was still mad at him, she sits upright. "Nick we're you sent to annoy me!"
Nick hits her head. "You're insane!" He snapped.
Triffany threw a chair pillow at him. "You're crazy!" They both scream at themselves.
After a moment of a pillow fight, Nick sat down close to her. "I know. Tell me." He saw how angry she was.
Triffany looked up at him and tears filled her eyes. "I was all alone." Her voice came out low in a sob.
"What do you mean all alone?" Nick looked sceptical.
"No groom, just me. That rich jerk did not show up, I was all alone, looking crazy." Triffany covered her face with her hands.
"Maybe he had something to attend to," Nick said gently.
Triffany looked up at him, her tears flowing uncontrollably. "He couldn't inform me, he just left me there without a single word. Nick, I'm being sold off to someone who doesn't love me and I won't let myself fall into this plot. The funny thing is that I'm in it already."
Nick held her shoulder and made her look at him. "Love grows Triffany."
"If you're told to marry Raven will you?" She asked him
He left her shoulder and glare at him. "I'm not insane." He snapped.
Triffany burst into laughter, Raven was the ugliest girl in their department, she also had a rude lifestyle and Nick hates her.
"Triffany looked at her cousin still laughing. "But, she loves you." Raven had confessed her feelings for Nick in the presence of all their course so it was obvious she likes him.
"I would never agree to it, even if her parents are rich and wealthy." Nick looked offended.
"That's the same here." Triffany had stopped laughing.
"Yours is better." Nick looked at her. "You're getting married to a rich and handsome man."
Triffany scoffed. "I'm more pretty."
Nick stands up. "Stop deceiving yourself Triffany," Nick told her, backing off in case she throws him a pillow.
"I'm not! That's the truth." Triffany was bound to fight about her beauty.
"Only in your dreams." Nick sat down close to his computer, he won't accept that she was more pretty than Carlos.
Triffany was offended and she did throw a pillow that hits his head. "You also told me that and many other boys confirmed it!" She shouts.
Nick looked at her and he was amused, he like seeing her so worked up. "They only want you to feel special, tell me where they are now?" He folds his hands looking at her.
"I played hard to get and won't kiss them, that was why they left." She said matter of factly.
"Yeah and that's why you're still single," Nick smirked. "You treated your lips like a treasure."
"My lips are a treasure." She sneered at him. "Don't you know? I said the first man I kiss will be my husband."
Nick looked at her. "Sorry to burst your bubbles. You would be getting married to someone you've not even kissed."
He smiled. "You will kiss him on Saturday and he must have kissed a lot of girls."
Triffany folds her arm in anger. "You're so annoying, I won't even give my first kiss to that jerk!"
Nick laughed, holding his ribs. "Then who would you kiss?"
"My little brother." She blurts out making Nick laughed harder.
"Triffany, you're so naive and stupid!" His voice came out loud and she glared at him, he was so annoying, it seems she was entertaining him now.
"Just sleep Triffany, things will go your way in your dreams." He chuckled.
Triffany put on her headphone, not wanting to hear the annoying voice of Nick.
Kelsey came out of the bathroom after dressing up, she sat close to Carlos who made her a hot coffee. "Drink it, it's warm." He hands her the coffee and she smiled.
She was sure his heart was warm towards her, she sips the coffee. Carlos was watching a movie, she looked at it. "What movie is this?"
"Murder mystery." Carlos looked at the TV.
Kelsey smiled, this was the kind of movie she likes. She saw a lady, it must be the lead. "She's pretty," Kelsey said sipping her coffee.
Carlos looked up at her face, his eyes filled with love. "You're more pretty." His gentle voice made her lift her eyes to stare at him.
Kelsey smiled and lick her lips. "Thanks for staying here with me."
Carlos held her hands, this was the place he wants to be, this was where he feels happy. He kissed her lips softly. "Don't thank me. It is my responsibility." He added.
Kelsey rests her head on his broad shoulder, she was still weak from her recent illness. She closed her eyes and he nuzzles her hair, the light perfume from the shampoo. "It should be like this. I wonder what went wrong." Kelsey's voice came out hoarse.
Carlos paused, he closed his eyes. "I did." He said gently.
Kelsey shook her head, she turned her eyes to look Carlos straight in his eyes. "It's not your fault Carlos. I'm okay now, it's fate Carlos. I'm good now. Your wedding is this weekend, I would lose you forever." She said sadly.
Carlos lifts his hands to her face, caressing it gently. "You're not losing me, Kelsey."
"I know am not. I have lost you already." Kelsey back away from his hands and turned her eyes to the movie. "Let's just continue watching the movie."
