Chapter 67

Carlos sat down on a chair and picked up a magazine, Triffany frowned, now he was acting like a gentleman.

“Ma’am please this way. You need a massage and toning.” The staff told her as Triffany followed her lead.

A few minutes later, they came out, Triffany was wearing a robe as they lead her to a seat by the dresser mirror. Carlos will glance up from the magazine from time to time to look at her, with a thin smile on his lips.

They finished her pedicure and manicure, did her hair and applied makeup on her face. They let her hair down her shoulders and back. Triffany looks at the mirror surprise by the transformation.

She looks like the model Nick and Allison doubted she could be. She smiles, please with her beauty, she was a natural, but enhancing her beauty makes her more pretty.

They drew a wardrobe of expensive, classy dress our. “Ma’am, you have to choose a dress.” Triffany turned around surprised to see the clothes that were hanging there for her to choose.

“I can’t we…” she was about to protest when Carlos cut in.

“You should give us the room now.” He said to the staff and they all left to give them some privacy.

Carlos went through all the dress and spots one. “This white one.” He checked it on the and shook his head on second thought. “Perhaps, the red dress.”

Triffany looked at him. “These dresses are expensive.”

Carlos ignored her and pulled out as many dresses as his hand can carry, he put them on her hands. “Try these.” He pulled her into the dressing room and closed the door.

He smiled as he exhaled softly. “She’s pretty.” He sat back on the chair as Triffany came out wearing one of the dress.

“How is this one?” She asked.

Carlos lifts his eyes to her and pressed his lips together as he scans her from head to toe. “It’s just..”

“I guess it’s not good.” She went in to try another one on. When she came out, she looks at him. “How about this one?”

Carlos bites his lips, shock at her beauty. “It’s just…” He swallowed hard.

Triffany looks down at herself. “I guess this is not good too.” She tried the red dress and came out. “How is this one?”

“It’s just..” Carlos managed to say, why is she damn hot on all the dress she wears, he was speechless as his jaw drop.

Seeing he was not saying anything, Triffany sign. “It doesn’t fit, right? Classy things don’t fit me.” She muttered, this was the second time she was degrading herself and she was glad that Nick and Allison did not hear her say this.

She turned to go in again but Carlos got up. “Not that.” He walked over to her. “You’re so pretty in all of them.”

Triffany looked up to his eyes, shocked. This was the first time she had ever heard him compliment her, was this real or was it a dream, she wishes someone could pinch her now. “Huh!” She wanted to hear him say it again.

Carlos was staring down at her. “This dress made you look pretty.” He said and look away. Triffany sign. He was not complimenting her because she’s pretty, he was complimenting the dress.

He brought out a glassy heel and set it down to her leg as he helped her put it on, she stares down at him in surprise, was this the Carlos she knows? Why was he being such a gentleman today, she wonders.

Carlos put a neckless he handpicked on her neck and she wore her earrings. She was looking so adorable. He checked her out and pause. “One more thing.”

Triffany looked at him. “What?” Wondering what was remaining, she had done her hair, nails, makeover, she’s wearing a dress, shoe and jewellery, what else was missing?

To answer her question, Carlos took her finger and put their wedding ring on her ring finger. She thought she had left it at home, but he had brought it and he was putting it on her, by himself. She looked at him, she was falling more in love with this man.

But to her surprise, he said the most annoying words. “You know we are going somewhere and a lot of people will be watching us. You should wear your ring and I mine, you need to look good today since my grandfather would be there and they insist I come with my wife.”

Triffany scoffed, she had thought he had wanted her to go with him and had done all this cause he was changing, but it was all figures.

“Here I am thinking you became a gentleman overnight. Not knowing this was all just for show off.” She looked at her image in the mirror.

Carlos smile as he stares at her. “Well, you transformed from a frog to a princess.”

Triffany turns around in anger. “Well, your choice of words for a compliment is horrible.” She walked out of the room.

Carlos smile. “She is really pretty and am sure it no longer awkward.” He said to himself as he went after her. He paid the bills as they drove to the house warming party.

They got to the housewarming party and Triffany was not surprised to see it filled with classy and rich people.

Triffany became less embarrassed because her outfit blends with theirs and she look more like them so all eyes will not be on her.

Carlos offered his hand when they got to the entrance and she reluctantly took it, the thought of him being a gentleman a few hours ago just because of his grandfather and people that will watch them, still piss her off.

“Carlos Zack.” Director Mark, their host shakes his hand. “Welcome.” He greeted him and his eyes fell on Triffany. “This must be your wife.”

“Yes, she is.” Carlos smiled as he looks at Triffany, she already knows he was wearing this smile since he was in the public.

“Good evening sir.” She greeted Director Mark, with a warm smile spread across her lips.

“Good evening to you too. You’re one hell of a pretty lady.” He peeks her cheek gently as a form of greeting.

“Thanks for the compliment.”

“Thanks for honouring my invitation, I was just talking to your grandfather not quite long,” Mark told Carlos.

“He’s here already.”

“Yes.” Director Mark told them. Triffany and Carlos head inside while the director kept welcoming his guest.

Carlos who still link arms with Triffany leans close to whisper in her ear. “Try to blend in.”

Triffany scoffed, was he taking her as a lowlife that has not attended a party before. “Sorry to break it down to him, I can also act rich if she wants to. “
