Chapter 137

Triffany's eyes flickered open as she glanced sideways to get acquainted with the room she lay in, she has been with Carlos all through the day, not until the doctors came in and injected some drugs into her drip, it has made her drowsy and she had fallen asleep without knowing due to the effect.

She looked at the couch in the room for any sight of Carlos but he was not there.

Triffany gently sat up using her other arm that doesn't hurt to stable herself, she leaned back on the bed, she glanced out through the window and noticed how bright it was outside and then her eyes flickered to the door that swung open and she saw Gabby step into the room dressed in her usual high-class outfit.

Gabby was wearing black leather shorts and a white crop top and a black leather jacket, she was also wearing a silver necklace that Tiffany's has never noticed her wear, it also seems to have a moon shape pendant that has only its half and Triffany suspect the other half would be with Tommy.

Gabby was wearing makeup but the smiles she wore on her face made her face shine more bright that it affected Triffany and made her smile too.

"Wake…wake…sleepyhead," Gabby said this as she set down the warm water she had brought in with her.

She raised her hand and rubbed it against her forehead slowly. "How long have I been asleep?" She asked.

"Over twelve hours I guess." Gabby turned a glass of warm water and handed it over to Triffany who took a sip of it. "We are close to noon and you have been asleep since last night..."

"I have been sleeping for that long?" Triffany's eyes dilated as she handed the glass to Gabby who placed it back on the stool.

"Yes, and I think it's because my brother has worn you out during the night." She giggled softly and Triffany blushed and looked down.

"It's not that, I think I was drugged." Tiffany's glimpse up at Gabby from her eyelashes but she saw that Gabby wasn't giving her the suspicious gaze.

"I was a bit worried too when I came over, you had been sleeping for so long and I thought Carlos has been too hard on you during the night," Gabby giggled to see Triffany's cheek turn crimson. "But, I got assured that you were just asleep since you need lots of rest for both you and the baby." She grinned and glanced down at Triffany's stomach.

Triffany placed her hand on her abdomen and rubs it gently with a smile on her lips. "I was a bit worried when they injected the drug into my drip, I was worried it will affect the baby but I guess the doctors know better." She looked up at Gabby.

"Of course, Carlos overreacted so much that he had to bring the best doctors to take care of you, you are in safe hands with Carlos, and he is just overprotective sometimes." She grinned.

"I know." Triffany glanced around and then at Gabby again. "So where is he now?" She asked.

"Carlos?" Gabby turned her attention back to Triffany who nods. "He had some business meetings to attend to so he left you under my care." Gabby touched her chest and Triffany glanced down slowly and flashed a thin smile, she wish Carlos was here right now, she just wants to keep staring at his face, that gives her comfort and hearing that he was at work made her miss him more.

"What is that look on your face?" Gabby tilts her head and glanced at Triffany's face and Triffany raised the corner of her brows.

"What looks?"

"The looks of disappointment, you wish he was here right?" A soft smile was plastered on her lips.

"Not that," Triffany lowered her gaze again. "I am glad that you are here now..."

"But..." Gabby just loves hearing all about their romantic thoughts, she loves this since she can recall how Triffany and Carlos have always fought like cat and dog so seeing this was just a new kind of thrilling and it was amusing and sexy at the same time.

"But, he doesn't go to work much when I was not hurt, he also owns the company, can't he postpone it and stay by my side?" She pouts. "I am his wife, I am hurt and he needs to be with me here." She lowered her gaze as she mumbled the words and Gabby bites her lower lips to suppress the smiles that were fighting their way to burst out.

"Honestly, Carlos has postponed this meeting for a while now but right now it was too pressing that he has to step out, also he was not so happy to leave your side either, he was staring at you for a long time while you sleep," Gabby told her.

When she had got in here, she has seen Carlos staring at Triffany, and he was holding her hand and the smiles on his face didn’t disappear.

"Really?" Triffany wanted to hear more about it, about Carlos act when she wasn't looking.

"Umm, he didn’t take his eyes away from you even when he was taking the call from the company and his smiles disappeared when he had to leave," Gabby told her and Triffany exhaled softly.

"I guess I was also the cause of his delayed work, I hope he succeeds in winning them over." She smiled feeling a bit relieved that Carlos has left but not as happy as she thought.

"You aren't, anyway, I am here now." Gabby flashed Triffany a smile and Triffany giggled, it was true that Gabby was fun, and she always has a way of putting smiles on everyone's faces, more especially hers.

"What about Tommy?" Triffany asked since she knew Tommy had made up with Gabby and Gabby's face turned pink as she touched the necklace she wore.

"He is doing okay." Gabby bites down her lower lips with smiles on her face.

"I know he gave that to you." Triffany pointed at the necklace and Gabby shook her head.

"This was suggested by the both of us, and it is to make us feel closer to each other even if we are far from each other." She grinned and Triffany glanced down at the necklace, she was sure Carlos won't do that since she recalled how he has protested when she asked him to wear couple wear with her, she had to make a lot of effort to get him to do it.

"That is so sweet." Triffany smiled and Gabby glanced down at her wristwatch and turned to Triffany.

"Ah, Tommy said he will drop by soon." She said softly and Triffany looked at her with wide eyes.

She has heard that Tommy was back and together with Gabby but he has not come to see her and she felt like it was because of what happened between them and she was giving him the time he needed but hearing that he was coming here was a surprise.

The door cracked open. "I guess he is the one," Gabby said quickly before glancing at the door and a smile spread through her lips, she got to her feet and rushed over to Tommy with her hand wide open.

Tommy caught her in his arms and kissed the nape of her neck and she moaned and leaned back and his lips found her lips and she kissed him.

"I miss you too," Tommy said softly since he knew she missed him even if they had only seen for a brief moment today and Gabby smiled.

“Hi Tommy,” Triffany raised her eyes to meet his as she waved softly at him, and Tommy exhaled softly and walked over to her.

“Hi Triffany,” He looked down at her hand that was still connected to the drip and the arm that she was shot with while Gabby came over and stood next to him.

“You came back but didn’t show your face to me.” She said softly, no matter what, Tommy was her friend and has been her colleague at work, so it was only wise that he come to see her even if they had a little bit of history together.

“That is because I was made with you and still is.” He looked at her arm that was banded and Triffany traced his eyes to her arms and then her lips turned up.

“I am fine now Tommy.” She could tell the worry in his face.

“Why then were you so strong-headed and didn’t listen to your husband, you would have lost your life or something like that, do you only act before you think.” He scolded her, he was now saying all the words he has wanted to say to her after hearing how she has dived in front of Carlos and taken a bullet for him and Triffany lowered her gaze like a kid that has been guilty of a huge crime.

“Don’t be so hard on her Tommy.” Gabby caressed his arms and Tommy exhaled softly and he touched Gabby’s arms and glanced up at her. “Triffany has gone through a lot to be scolded at and now she has a baby in her womb, so can you be so gently since the baby may think you are a bad uncle,” Gabby said this to lighten the mood and they all smiled.

Triffany glanced up at Tommy through her eyelashes. “I won’t be reckless anymore and also, I have gotten a lot of scolding from Carlos.” She said softly with a smile on her lips and Tommy frowned at her playfully,

“Don’t act cute with me, and I have my girlfriend here with me.” He said this and helped Gabby to his lap and Gabby smiled and kissed his lips softly.

“Now who is acting cute with me?” Triffany throw the question back at him and Tommy chuckled.

“I am glad you are doing okay Triffany, you don’t know how happy I am right now.” He said softly and Triffany flashed a smile, she was also happy to be alive, when the bullet hit her, she thought she was falling into a bottomless pit and she kept hearing Carlos voice but couldn’t respond to him even when she tried to call out his name, right now she wants nothing else but to live happily with Carlos and their baby, to live with smiles until they got grey hair.

“I am happy to be alive too, but there is something I need,” Triffany said softly.

“What is that?” Both Tommy and Gabby said at the same time.

“Food,” Triffany rubs her hand on her stomach and their eyes flickered down there. “I don’t know why but I feel so hungry.” She pressed her lips together, she should be bugging Carlos about this and not his sister but unfortunately, Carlos was not here but at work and she can’t wait to also leave this place, it was not where she want to be, she just want to be next to Carlos, perhaps, after thinking she was going to die and never see him again, her soul now longs to be attached to him, but then she wonders if that attachment has to do with this baby in her womb.

“It’s because you haven’t eaten anything since this morning and the baby must also be hungry,” Gabby said as she rose to her feet. “I will go get you something to eat.” She turned to leave.

“Whatever you need, I got it here.” They all heard Carlos voice and their eyes flickered to the door to see Carlos with a huge grin on his face and two big bags of takeouts.

“Carlos.” Tiffany's lips grew wide with smiles and Carlos has never seen her smile this widely before and he put down the bag and rushed over to her side, tilting his head, he kissed her lips.

“You miss me, didn’t you?” He raised the corner of his brows and Tiffany's grinned.

“Why did you leave when I was still asleep?” Triffany frowned slightly as she looked at him with her lips pulled up.

“I had something to attend to and you were having your beauty sleep so I didn’t disturb you.” He kissed her forehead and his hand slide down her belle and he rubs it softly. “How is our baby doing?” He asked.

“The baby is fine.” Triffany smile, she was so happy that Carlos also cared for this baby in her womb, he has not only loved her, he has also taken care of her ever since he heard about the child and she just can’t stop being happy that he loved the child as much as he loved her, she was glad that he will make a good father to their baby even when they both began this marriage at a rough start.

“You both are too romantic,” Tommy said softly with a smile on his lips and got up to his feet as Carlos and Triffany both looked up at him.

“I guess it’s our time to be romantic together,” Triffany said this and stick out her tongue at him.

“Tommy, since the couples are together, shouldn’t we leave and go have some fun?” Gabby blinked cutely at him and Tommy smiled as he held her chin with his finger, pulling it up, he kissed her lips softly.

“I was about to say that.” They both turned to Triffany and Carlos. “We will see you two later, how about that?”

“Won’t you join us in having lunch? I bought enough for everyone.” Carlos got to his feet and took the two bags he has come over with as he placed them on the stool.

“No Carlos, me and Tommy are heading out now,” Gabby said without hesitation and Triffany and Carlos glance at them.

“We have plans already, just running late since we had to babysit Triffany,” Tommy said with a chuckled Triffany glared at him. “No offence, I am sure Carlos treats you like a baby too.” He said with a smile and they all chuckled.

“Alright then, have fun together and see you both.” Triffany waved at them and Gabby left the room with Tommy.

Carlos turned his eyes to Triffany and noticed she was still staring at the door. “Is there something wrong Triffany?” He asked and Triffany turned her eyes to meet him and she shook her head.

“No, nothing,” She was actually thinking about Jimmy, if only Jimmy has not acted on revenge, perhaps he would have still been alive, and maybe, just maybe, he would be friends with her just like Tommy was.

“Let’s eat.” Carlos opened up the takeout and fed her as she smiled, chewing the beef softly. “How is it?” He asked.

“It’s yummy, I was almost craving beef, and you are really my lifesaver.” She smiled.

“I think you are my lifesaver.” He knew the bullet would have hit his heart if she has not thrown herself in the way for him, and he was really going to cherish her all his life. “Have some more.” He gave her a spoonful of rice and she chewed it.

“You should eat too.” She told him but right before Carlos would take a bit, his phone that was on the table vibrated and Tiffany's eyes flickered to the phone and she saw Arianna flashed on the screen.

Carlos quickly took the phone and got to his feet. “I will go answer this.” He told her and Triffany was a bit surprised at his quick movement, also, he was not taking the call in here but going out of her room.

She parted her lips to call him out but before she would say a word, the door shut behind her and she blinked rapidly.

She shook the thought she was having on her head, she was sure Carlos will tell her about it, he does sometimes and this was a lady calling, a man can’t bear the name Arianna, also, she was sure there was no female staff with that name since she has worked in the Glammaly estate with him.

She glanced at the clock beside her, and began to eat her meal again, she glanced at it again, it was ten minutes and he was not back in, but she rested assured he didn’t leave since his bag was here and shortly, she heard the door crack open and Carlos stepped in.

“Who was that?” She asked him as she put a spoonful of rice into her mouth and chewed.

“Umm… Triffany…” Triffany doesn’t like the way he has called her name just now. “I will have to call Alison over…”

“Why is that?” Triffany asked him putting down her spoon.

“I have to go back to the company.” He said and walked over to where he has placed his briefcase.

“You only came back a few minutes ago…”

“Something came up, I should be heading out now, and I will call her on my way out.” He leaned in and pecked her cheek. “I will see you.” He pointed and walked out of the door and only a whisper of his name came out of her lips since she was dumbfounded.

“What just happened?” She mumbled to herself, he had received a call from a lady named Arianna and he has come in quickly and also left the same way, just what was happening? She pondered and her forehead creased.

“This can’t be a second Kelsey?” She gritted her teeth and shook her head, now she just couldn’t wait to process her discharge and get back to the company, she was not going to let work or any lady take Carlos attention, it was already too difficult handing Kelsey.

“Who is Arianna?”
