Chapter 16
Allison came over to Trevor's house, after greeting them she heads upstairs to Tiffany's room. "Triffany." Allison knocked on the door and entered.
"You're here." Triffany smiled." Come have a seat." She taps her bed and Allison joined her.
"Are you okay?" Allison asked looking at Triffany all over, she had slept out yesterday and made them all worried.
"Yes, I'm good." Triffany smiled at her cousin.
"I was really worried about you yesterday, you made your mother sad too." Allison looked her over with a frown.
"I was drunk and couldn't answer my phone," Triffany said softly.
"You should have taken good care of yourself. Where did you sleep?" Allison's voice was gentle.
Triffany folds her leg and relaxes on her bed. "At that man's mansion." She sighed.
"Which man?" Allison asked, wide eye.
"The on TV," Triffany said nonchalantly.
"Your husband to be?" Allison giggle.
"Allison!" Triffany glare at her. "Not you too, please. I dislike that man. Though he has a little good side." Triffany blush.
"What good side?" Alison asked curiously, this was the first time Triffany has ever said that a man has a good side.
"He couldn't let me be vulnerable. I was drunk with nowhere to go and he did not even touch me. My underwear was still how it was." She told her.
Allison shakes her head and scoffed. "Were you expecting him to have sex with you or what?" She asked.
Triffany stopped blushing and looked down, she had been thinking about it since she came back home, she bits her lower lips and looked at Allison. "Not that, but you know, seeing a beautiful lady like me, he should be tempted," Triffany said with a pose.
Alison laughed at her friend, she shakes her head. "Nick was right all along. You're nut. Don't forget he is a rich and classy man, one of the known wealthy heir. So stop dreaming Triffany."
Triffany folds her hands, she knew Allison was right, her inner goddess was also telling her the same thing but she didn't want to believe it. "Why then is he did he want to get married to me?"
Allison looked at her friend, this was not the Triffany she knew yesterday, maybe the drink did something to her head.
Allison looked Triffany directly in the eye. "May I remind you, he wants to put the press at ease. After one night sleep at his mansion you're getting all your brains twisted, wake up girl, you were the one telling me all this."
Triffany sighed and looked up with a determined face. "You're right Allison. I am not classy, and I'm not rich, I don't have a job, but I have a lot of men who were deeply in love with me in the university." Triffany giggle.
Alison knew where this new talk was heading, she had to change the topic. "I am hungry girl, do you have any chips?" She asked.
Triffany frowned." I am not done talking." She said.
"I've heard the story countless times Triffany, how you turned them all down cause they were not your type." Allison completed it for her.
"Okay fine. You earn your chips, check in the lower drawer. Grab one for me too, let's watch movies together." Allison went to get it.
Carlos Zack waits outside Kelsey's shopping mall until she closed from work. He came out of the car to meet her. "Kelsey."
Kelsey turned around and see him standing there, with a charming smile plastered on his face.
He was wearing suit pants and a white t-shirt and a suit jacket, looking handsome in the setting sun. "What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Can we both have a drink?" His eyes looked up at her.
"Sorry, no. You're getting married soon and I don't want to be caught up in your affairs with the press. You know how I hat that. So no." She said and turned to leave.
Carlos held her hands and whirls her around. "Kelsey. I'm having a hard time now and I could use your help, just a drink, that's all I ask."
Kelsey looked at his eyes, this is the man she loves, the man she away lost herself in. He was getting married, he betrayed her, but looking at his sad eyes, she couldn't resist.
"Okay." She told him. Carlos opened the passenger door for her and she entered. He got into the driver's seat and drive to a classy wine bar.
There he ordered red wine, the waiter poured it into their glasses and retreat.
Kelsey looked at Carlos. "Tell me what is going on, I can see clearly that you don't look good right now."
"Work." Carlos sips his wine gently with his eyes on Kelsey. "Personal life, everything that has gone wrong between us." His eyes were lonely. "I'm not saying it's your fault Kelsey, it's mine. I was so reckless."
Kelsey shakes her head. "Carlos please, I'm trying to get over that." Kelsey gulped her wine and refilled her glass.
"I'm sorry, but right now, I wish I could be with you, I need you, Kelsey, right now." Carlos looked at her eyes and they stared at each other for a while.
Kelsey bits her lower lips and looked away. "I wish I can. Haven't you heard?" She asked him.
"Heard what?"
Kelsey looked at him. "Your grandfather has already announced the day of your wedding with that girl."
"What!" Carlos frowned.
Kelsey looked at him and scoff. "Don't act so naive Carlos, why do you think I'm trying to stay away from you huh! It hurts so much Carlos, but I can see you're suffering too. I know it's not your intention for all this to happen, but, you know just what I can't take, it's you not fulfilling your promise to be with me forever."
Carlos held her hands from across the table. "I can't promise you I won't do the marriage to save my company, but no matter what Kelsey, I promise you I will love you and only you for the rest of my life."
Kelsey looked at his eyes that were filled with love for her, she wanted to believe him, she wanted to believe what he was saying, this promise he was making to her.
She pulled her hands from his. "I've heard a lot of your promises Carlos. I just can't do this anymore." She stands up and picked up her bag. "I'm leaving. Thanks for the drink." Kelsey walked out of the bar.
"Kelsey." Carlos went after her after paying the bills. "Kelsey." He held her hands stopping her. "Kelsey waits, let me take you home please, let me give you a ride."
"No thanks." She pulled her hands from his and stopped a taxi, leaving Carlos there, he watched the taxi leave with a gloomy face.
