Chapter 69

"I don't understand." Eric was still puzzled.

"My grandfather must have known all these and made me get married to someone else. I was blinded by my love for Kelsey, but I have found out already." Carlos took another glass of wine from a staff that passed with a tray of wine.

"You must have felt sick." Garrett who understands him said. Anytime bad things go wrong, Carlos always falls sick, but never shows it.

"Well, I passed through that." He sips his wine again. "I'm fine now, so please don't bring Kelsey's name up anymore. I can't stand it." He said seriously this time.

"Okay." They all agreed.

"Have you told your wife about this?" Blake asked, Triffany ought to know, she shouted be the first to know about it, it could give them a chance to have feelings for each other.

"Haven't got the chance to." He exhaled softly.

"You should tell her so that she won't misunderstand you and Kelsey again. I'm sure you love your wife." Blake said seriously this time.

"What!" Carlos almost chokes in his drink.

"It is all in your smile." Blake pointed as they all chuckled.

"Where is she?" Garrett looked around, trying to spot her amid the guest.

"Who?" Carlos followed his gaze.

"Your wife, you said you came here with her."

"She's over there," Carlos said softly as they traced his gaze and saw Triffany drinking and chatting with some men. It seems his friends stop breathing for a while.

"Wow! Take a look at that beauty." Garrett said softly, as he stares at her. Carlos turned to his friend with a frown on his face.

"I was wondering who that pretty lady was," Eric admitted they had seen her but had not recognised her as Triffany, since she looked so different.

"She's so surrounded and her smile is dazzling." Blake smile, looking dreamy.

"I was about to approach her thinking I have found my other half, not knowing she was taking." Eric blinks.

Carlos scoffed as he looks at the faces of his friends. "Yes she's taken, so snap out of your daydreams you all." He raidse6his voice and they all looked at him.

"She's my wife and I won't want you all looking at her with that catchy eyes of yours." He said seriously with a knitted brow.

"Heh...someone is getting jealous." Blake blurts out as Carlos roiled his eyes.

Eric looked at Triffany who was still smiling over there. "You shouldn't worry about us. Take a look at those young men, they are the ones with the catchy eyes."

Carlos looked at Triffany and he furrowed his brow, can't they see she is wearing a ring, don't they know she's married. Maybe he should buy her a bigger ring that would be more visible.

"You better go save your wife," Garrett told him, smiling. It is obvious that Carlos was jealous right here and now.

"I think I better go." He put down his glass and walked over to Triffany's side. He put his hand around her waist and held her other hand up, showing them the ring she was wearing on her finger intentionally.

They understand the message he was passing and all left without another word. Triffany turned to him with a frown on her face. "What's wrong with you?"

Carlos leans close to her eyes, in other not to let the others hear what he was saying. "You were flirting with those men, weren't you?"

Triffany rolled her eyes. "I was blending in. You just came by and spoil the fun." She sipped her wine. "When will you stop acting like a typical husband." She said softly.

"What do you think people will say about me if my wife is chatting and smiling with other men." He looked around. "You don't know who might be watching."

Triffany scoffed. "You care so much of your status. You always have ways of spoiling my fun." She turned around and placed her empty glass on the table.

The background music changed into a classic one, as different couples step to the centre to waltz.

Carlos looked at Tri6with a smile on his lips. "Can I have this dance?" He stretched out his hands.

Triffany looked at him and reluctantly took his hands. They walked over to the centre. "I'm a terrible dancer." She said honestly.

Carlos grins. "I know." Triffany frown, but he doesn't mind, he held her waist, as they both waltz, almost he knew was he was dancing with his beautiful wife and wouldn't feel that feeling of Jealousy anymore.

Carlos and Triffany arrived home after a long evening. They ate dinner and took their bath separately.

Triffany lay on the couch while Carlos lay on the bed. He looked at her and wonder if she was going to lay on that couch again this night.

He checked the time and it was past nine, she was going to sleep soon, should he tell her to come to join him in bed or not. Looking at Triffany who had her back on him, he knew he had to come up with a better plan.

He was about to get up when her phone rang. He watched her pick it up. "Hello, Tommy." She sat up on her couch.

"Triffany, hope you mind me calling you by this time? I needed to talk to you." Tommy said from the other side of the line.

"I don't mind," Triffany said with a smile. Carlos looked at the time once more and then furrowed his brow. What kind of man will call a married woman at this time.

"How are you?" Tommy seems to sleep, knowing that she was not offended.

"I'm good you?" Triffany glance at Carlos who was staring at her all this while.

"I'm fine."

"Glad to hear. How was your day?" Triffany seems to love the conversation, she was even smiling which made Carlos angrier.

"I just stayed at home, listening to music...what did you do?"

"I went to a party." Triffany smile as Carlos raised his brow, now she was feeling him details of her day. "A house warming party."

"That must be a lot of fun, am sure you looked so pretty today." Tommy imagined her in a beautiful dress and smile, to him she always looks so pretty.

Triffany blushed and ran her hand through her hair. "You should have seen me for yourself...I was looking awesome and stunning." Carlos scoffed. Triffany was someone who was always proud of her look and gives herself the best compliments ever.

"Did some young men surround you?" Tommy asked, already curious and wishing he was by her side.

"I greeted many people and had a lot of fun," Triffany responded simply.

"Just like in the university."

"Huh!" Triffany didn't know what he was talking about so he went ahead to explain.

"You are always the star in the university, many young men clustered around you like a colony." He reminded her.

Triffany laughed out loud. "Those guys." She saw the frown on Carlos's face, such enough he must be angry that she's having this much fun.

"I know I drew so much attention to myself beach am so pretty. They asked me out for dates." She smiles just thinking back to those memories. "University was real fun, though I had to flee from them. They were too much."

"I was jealous," Tommy said after a long silence and Triffany paused. "I couldn't come close because they were so many and I was not sure of my looks then." He said honestly.

In the university he had always watched her from afar, he barely talks to her because he was shy, and scared she would reject him since there were a lot of people admiring and asking her out.

"I never knew you were jealous when those guys surrounded me in the university, but one thing I know is that you were so handsome then and even now," Triffany said sincerely.

Carlos got up from the bed in anger. He spaced around the room waiting for her to be done with the phone call.

"Seriously?" This made Tommy smile. "This means a lot to me Triffany." Now she had said this, it won't be hard for her to accept his feelings.

Carlos couldn't take it in anymore, he sat down on the sofa across her couch, tapping his feet restless on the tiled floor.
