Chapter 66

Carlos sat on his bed the next morning as he stares at Triffany who was still asleep on the couch. She had ignored him all through last night.

"So much for sleeping together." He sighed and walked close to her. He sat down across the couch she lay and watched her.

Triffany opened her eyes as if knowing someone had been staring at her, she was surprised to see him there. "You're up." He asked with a thin smile.

Triffany sat down and yawns with her eyes closed and facing Carlos. She opened her eyes and stretched her arms. She looked at Carlos who still has his eyes on her.

"You don't have to watch me sleep. A lady who loves a man wouldn't dare to yawn in his presence." She felt that he was doing all he was doing because of her confession yesterday.

"And about yesterday, it is a dream to me." She got up from the couch to leave.

"Okay," Carlos said with his deep voice and also got up. "Get dress."

Triffany turned to face him with a frown. "What now?"

"We are going somewhere." He told her and she looked at his serious face but look away instead.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." She turned to leave.

"I'm not asking you." She halts. "I'm telling you. So get dressed, else I will bath you and dress you up myself." He walked past her and picked his towel, before going into the bathroom.

Once he had shut the door, he held his chest and exhaled softly. "Carlos, What's wrong with you?" He asked himself. "Bath her?" He placed his hands on his cheek and shook his head.

Gosh, be a gentleman please he stutters in his head and went ahead to take his bath.

When he was done he came out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around his waist and water dripping down from his hair to his shoulder, then to his chest, down to his waist.

Triffany stood still staring at him with wide eyes. When will she ever get used to seeing him this way? "Go freshen up," Carlos told her but she still has her eyes on him with an opened lips.

He smiled, tilting his head aside. "Will you watch me change my dress too?"

Triffany blinks and frown. "You don't have to be so mean. I'm not a child you push around." She took her towel and walked into the bathroom.

Carlos chuckle, she was too stubborn that's why. He picked up another towel and begin to dry his hair. He turned to look at the bathroom door. "I have to tell her, but I can't since she's trying so hard not to show her feelings."

Triffany came out of the bathroom dressed in casual blue jean and a pink top. "Are you set?" Carlos who was sitting on the sofa asked.

"I'm not dressed your style, so just go alone." Triffany walked over to the dresser mirror to brush her hair.

Carlos put down his phone. "I don't care how you're dressed." Triffany looked up at him, surprised. "If you're done. Let's go." He uncrossed his legs.

Triffany turned to face him. "You are dressed in a well-tailored suit and polished shoes and looking crazily handsome and neat." Carlos smiled to hear her compliment him that way.

"But, I'm looking like a damn low class." She looked at herself, this was the first time she had ever looked down at herself this way. "And you still say let's go.."

She scoffed. "Just let me off the hook. You should find someone more in your class." She faces the mirror and begins to brush her hair backwards.

Carlos groaned. "Gosh! I'm tired of talking." Honestly, he was not much of a talker, but after meeting Triffany he talked a lot.

He stands up and walked over to her with his long leg covered in black trousers. He held her hands and picked up her phone for her as he leads her downstairs even with her protest and struggle.

Gabby came out of her room when she heard the noise and saw him holding Triffany's hands. "Going somewhere?" She asked.

Carlos looked at his sister, still holding Triffany's hands tight. "Gabby, good to see you." He smiled.

Triffany stopped struggling when she saw Gabby and raised her other hand to say hello. "Morning Gabby." She flashed her an awkward smile.

Gabby looked from Triffany to Carlos. "You're both acting weird this morning." She looked down at their hands. "Sorry to interfere." She smiled and turned to leave.

"We are going to one of my director's house warming party," Carlos told his sister and Triffany's eyes shone in shock as she pushed his hands away.

"You're kidding me!" She shouted. She looked at herself, she was not wearing a proper dress and she did not even do her makeup or finish brushing her hair.

"I'm serious." Carlos showed her the invitation card he had in his side pocket. "Here."

Triffany looked from the invitation card to Carlos. "I'm seriously not going." She hands it back to Carlos. Gabby watched them with her arms crossed.

"You won't want me to embarrass you..." She shook her head. "I don't want to cause you any trouble." When was he going to tell her he was taking her to a party, was it when they get to the entrance, and she was looking like this.

Gabby smiled. "The party is by noon, I'm sure Carlos is expecting to stop somewhere before going." Gabby and Carlos both share a knowing gaze, but Triffany looked at them puzzled.

"I don't think you're both listening to me..." She was about to say when Carlos interrupts her.

"Let's do more of the talking on our way." He grips her hands again. "See you later Gabby."

"Have fun." Gabby smiled as she watched them leave the house with Triffany still struggling to free her hand from his grip.

Carlos lead her outside where Shanne was standing by the car. "Shanne, you can take an off duty today. I will drive." Carlos told him.

"Okay, sir." Shanne hands him the key and steps aside.

Carlos first let Triffany into the passenger seat and then got into the driver's seat and drove off.

"I'm telling you, you better stop this car, since I have not been to a rich party before and this isn't my favourite dress, talk more of a party dress." She said all in one breath.

Carlos looked at her and then back on the road. "You've been arguing with me for over an hour now. Can you please stop?"

Triffany covers her face with her hands. "Why do you have to be so stubborn." She looked at him. "Is this some kind of payback on what I said last night?"

He stopped the car and turned to her, she was still looking at him. "I shouldn't have said bad things about Kelsey." Carlos frowned.

"Those clothes were so important to you and her. I shouldn't have voiced out, you wouldn't have cleared the clothes if it was so special to you, if you wanted them in there." She continued.

"We are here," Carlos said softly.

Triffany looked out of the window to see a large building with 'Ladies World' written on it. She turned to Carlos. "Why are we here instead of the party?"

Carlos smile. "You ask a lot of question. Get down already." He came down from the car and so did Triffany. He walked over to her and held her hands to her surprise as he leads her inside the building.

They went into the building and all eyes were on them, well all eyes were on Carlos, Triffany looked at the ladies that were staring at Carlos with love in their eyes with a frown.

She notices some of them were not happy to see this handsome man hold her hands this way and within her she smiled, now she doesn’t think it’s too bad for him to hold her hands this way and she stopped struggling to free her hand.

A female staff walk over to them, her eyes were on Carlos as she greets him. “Welcome, Mr Carlos.” Triffany wonder how this staff know his name but didn’t think much about it, her husband was a very popular man.

No wonder people reacted a lot at the news about him splashing her water with his car, if he was not popular, she wouldn’t be in this marriage at all.

Carlos ignored the staff that was smiling at him, he looks down at Triffany. “I want you to transform this lady by my side.” He was talking to the staff but his eyes were on Triffany.

“Do your magic on her, her hair, face, nails and body.” Triffany looked up at him, with dagger eyes, if not that people are watching them right now, she would have punched him on his face.

“Okay, sir.” The lady looks at Triffany, and with a look on her face, Triffany knows that she was angry. Was Carlos the only one they know? Don’t they know she was his wife? Damn his popularity and too bad she was not wearing her ring.
